I accidentally ended up in the "private driveway/junk yard" behind this business when I was visiting Sharon on vacation looking for a local restaurant. Google maps led me to the wrong driveway and once I entered the business yard area I had to turn around. There were many junk cars and trucks parked around and it was not easy to turn back. After I finally was able to turn my rental car around I discovered I had been parked in by a truck blocking the only narrow lane between the many cars. I didn't see anyone and neither did my teenage daughter who was with me in the car. I tooted my horn - and I mean tooted, not honked - 3 short toots to see if I could attract someone to help me get out of the lot. I attracted someone all right! Several very hostile men who yelled at me. The worst of them told me I was just going to have to wait since I have come onto private properly uninvited. I told him it was an accident due to google maps and he flat out told me it was not an accident at all. I suddenly realized this guy apparently thought I wanted to steal some rusty old hub caps or something in this junky car yard. He apparently planned to enjoy being the all powerful man and was demanding I just sit there while he unloaded a bunch of tires (and I mean a big bunch of them that were heaped in his truck bed). He only needed to move the truck about 4 feet for me to leave, and the whole vibe was immediately ugly and negative. When I suddenly realized he was being racist, and possibly misogynist too, I told him he wouldn't talk to a white woman the same way he was to me. Then he got out of his truck and walked up to my car threateningly. By then I was so mad I said to go ahead and keep coming and he would see who the police would arrest if he attacked me, and it wouldn't be me. The guy was nuts! I let him make me a bit nuts for a short time - something I regret in a way, but I'm done with being walked over and put down. All the other men around (at least 4) were clearly backing this guy up too. I'd have regretted things getting worse as it could have ended up involving my daughter, who is in her late teens, but I also don't ever want her to just let people treat her like dirt. This guy was a nutter. The man I believe was the business owner finally told him to get back in his truck when it dawned on him the man was really likely to attack me! Up to that point this guy in charge was busy bad mouthing me for having honked my horn and clearly did not accept that we didn't see anybody, even though I told him that, and all of them had come out from some unknown places after I tooted to see what was happening. The tire guy came out from some room and the others were apparently somewhere inside the garage area out of sight. The whole thing was ugly and all of them clearly wanted me to shut up and remained trapped there until they felt good and ready to let me out of the driveway. I strongly recommend anyone with brown skin avoid this place, and frankly I sure hope everyone avoids doing business with them and supporting racists! read more

if you are going to have them repair something, buy the part yourself. Will up charge parts substantially then when they start having issues less then 2 years down the line say warranty is expired. I could buy from fcp euro with a lifetime warranty on the part for less then the aftermarket they bought for my car with which only has a 1 year warranty. read more

They were awful. They " repaired" my Porsche 911 three times and it still did not work. I had to have it towed three times. They were unapologetic. I sent it to another repair place who fixed it right away. I do not recommend this place at all. read more

(NOTE: This is a review of AutoRent, the car rental portion of this business.) I swear, I will NEVER rent a car from NYC again. I've had average experiences in NYC, nothing traumatic, but the prices! OH, the prices! Even with a corporate discount from my organization, I'll still be out at least $200 for two days, once all taxes, insurance, and EZ Pass rental fees are covered. AutoRent is a completely different story. I needed a car for, literally, one day. If I had rented from NYC, I'd have to rent a car for four days just to use it on that one; I'd pick up on Thursday and bring it back on Sunday. That way I'd get a slight discount on prices. Luckily, I knew this car rental service existed via AutoSport and had my mother call in a one-day reservation for me. I just needed to get from Canaan to Springfield and back again. That's it! First off, the service was so quick, so friendly! If I didn't have to drive away to do my trip to Springfield, I would have stayed and chatted all day with the staff. (Ha!) Second, the car I rented (a Hyundai Sonata) was in pristine condition and had amazing features, a USB jack and XM Radio access to boot! Third, the price was right! For a day ($56) plus insurance ($16) (minus taxes), it was $72! I did the 100-mile plan in which I had to pay an extra 23 cents for each mile over 100. I paid an extra $13 bucks, which was negligible. They also discussed how they have a shuttle that runs from Sharon to Wassaic's MetroNorth train station on weekdays until about 4 p.m. and if you drop your car off at Wassaic afterwards (for an additional $30 fee), they will pick it up later! Compared to paying NYC car rental prices, that's a really attractive offer. I'm so pleased with this car rental service and can't say enough good things about it! read more

The check engine light was on in my Audi for 24 hours. I drove to a local mechanic who referred me to Autosport, assuring me that they could diagnose/fix it. On the way there, another light flashed on the dash saying "low oil pressure, turn off car". I drove into Autosport and they hooked my car up to their diagnostic equipment and within 20 minutes, they told me the problem and gave me an estimate. They were friendly and very professional. Tom did the work on my car and he patiently explained what had happened in the engine and what needed to be done. I rented a car from them and returned 24 hours later to pick up my car. Tom went above and beyond what I had expected. I highly recommend Autosport!! read more

The best repair shop with the best tech and parts and office staff around,the mechanics kept my old Volvo running brilliantly for 196,000 miles and when I bought newer car at near by dealership friends at Autosport did an inspection and advice- pretty rare these days. They also are a tire rack dealer and installers right here in sharon. I haven't actually left my car with Autosport to get any work done yet. But I called them today because I had a terrible noise crop up that I suspected might be a pebble stuck in the braking system. The problem seemed to correct itself on the way there, but when I arrived, one of the service guys, I believe he said his name was Tom, was working on a car and saw me nearby with my ear down by my wheel. He came over and politely asked what I was listening for. I told him that there had been a high-pitched squealing sound that had corrected itself. Even though I wasn't going to be leaving my car that day and was not yet a customer, he still confirmed that it had likely been a pebble, and took the time to do a quick visual check on my tires to see if they needed rotating or replacement. He even told me approximately how many more miles he thought I had left on the most worn tire. He obviously didn't have to do any of that, especially when he was busy with other cars and I wasn't yet a paying customer. They can be sure that I will be back for any maintenance my car might need in the future. read more

It is unfortunate that I have to write this review. One bad customer service experience, okay, I was willing to let it go. Twice, now I'm angry. It is also unfortunate because the rental experience itself was wonderful. They were so nice. I was really happy to find a local car rental business near where I was staying. And the friends I was staying with were happy to know they were there as well. So, this is not so much a bad review, but a CAUTION. Just bad, bad customer service. I came in to CT from CO and rented a car. I used the Mass Pike. As everyone knows, tolls today are charged automatically - no more change thrown in the basket, no more toll booths to pay the toll. Everything is done by transponder or license plate. I don't think there was a transponder in the car. I didn't see one, and no one told me about one. So, of course, whatever the case was, I expected to pay a toll. I knew I couldn't pay it while I was driving, so I assumed the rental car company would let me know I had incurred tolls and I would have been MORE THAN HAPPY TO PAY THEM. However, they had to be sneaky and underhanded. After the fact, rather than letting me know of the toll charges which, AGAIN, I WOULD HAVE BEEN MORE THAN HAPPY TO PAY, they charged my card for for $52.70 and then sent a snail mail letter letting me know - twice. The toll was $2.70 and there was a $50 "administrative fee." But, oh yes, because the toll authorities sent the bills for the 2 separate tolls to the rental car company SEPARATELY, they charged me TWO "administrative fees" of $50 each and then told me (when I called to find out why they had charged me twice) "ah, if the the toll company would only send the bill for both tolls together I wouldn't have to charge you two administrative fees." Oh darn, I feel so sorry for you, Autorent! What a hardship! AND they had the gall to call it a "violation." I didn't "violate" the toll. I didn't intentionally not pay. I had no way of paying it! Of course I was expecting to pay it on the back end. Logic would dictate that. But you had to serve up bad, bad customer service. Let me tell you how you should have handled it. You get the bill in the mail. You call me and say "hey, you incurred a toll of $2.70. We're going to charge your card." Me: "okay, sure, thanks for letting me know." And I am left with a warm feeling toward Autorent, and I then look forward to renting again, and telling my friends to rent from you. BUT NOW, I am left with a bad taste in my mouth, anger toward Autorent for being so SNEAKY, UNDERHANDED AND GREEDY, and ready to tell all my friends to avoid you at all costs. read more
