Not every shop is that honest. Last Sunday I had a loud scraping noise coming from one of my rear brakes. I thought maybe I could save myself the hassle of having my car in the shop during the work week so I went to a national chain shop on that Sunday and was told it would be around $950 -- seized caliper, rotor, pads-- I held off and took it to Auto Medix. They said the caliper was not seized, it was fine. Auto Medix replaced one rotor and the back brake pads, all said and done they were $610 cheaper than the chain store.

Called Robin and he got me in the same day, and got me back up in running the next morning in time for me to take it to work in the evening. Robin is super nice and gave me a way better price than I was expecting. He went through the diagnostic process with me and sent me photos of the repairs as he was doing them, definitely one of the best experiences I've ever had getting my car worked on. SDR has helped me with a number of weird situations with my 20 year old Chevy Caprice…read more They always crack the code and do it at a reasonable price. The most recent was that my former mechanic had botched up my lugnuts when I bought new tires through him a couple of years ago, and I only realized it now when a tire went flat. Thank goodness it happened in my driveway because if I'd been on the side of the road with this flat I would have been screwed. Basically the old mechanic over-torqued the lug nuts and then even used some wrong ones in the mix that my tire wrench never would have been able to take off. Not only did Steve at SDR get them off and replace with all correct lugnuts (as well as tighten them according to proper torque settings), he tracked down why my tire was leaking to begin with (corroded rim) and fixed that so I wouldn't needlessly buy a new tire just to have the same issue. He even re-balanced them and before any of this could happen, he sent a guy to my driveway to fill my tire so I could get it to him without paying for a tow. He not only accomplished what I asked of him for the immediate fix, but he went above and beyond to get to the root of the issue so I wouldn't have ongoing problems. SDR deserves all the business!
