Saul (Saool) speaks perfect English so this is not a problem. I have take my California Insurance settlement to Leyva Garage for huge savings compared to California body shops. Instead of only fixing my dent i left with a new paint job on top of the repair. Saul is very honest and explains the repair in great detail. I am a contractor so i appreciate a professional who explains in great detail how the repair will be done. I wanted my plastic mirrors painted which is difficult and not permanent. Saul explained that the mirror could look great but would have a shorter life or a little rough would last longer. Thank you for the education so i could make a proper decision. I went with the better looking. It looks great 4 years latter.I have take 4 cars here with great looking repairs. I got burned by another shop right around the corner. I walked around for 4 hours checking every shop in this area. Most work out of a cardboard tool boxes. I text pictures to Saul and set up an appointment so my car does not sit there. I usually get a rough estimate over the phone with pictures. I drop off the car and return to L.A. buy train. The train takes you to the border so i do not need any help. When you leave it's only 1 turn to get in the border line. Stop at Costco and pick up Tequilla and Mexican Coke. Across the street from Costco is the best T.J. tacos.

Great service . Brought BMW 328i because it was acting up , I was not sure what the problem was…read morebecause it kept forcing and wanting to turn off at stop signs. Carlos helped me, he seemed like a very knowledgeable and honest person . A few hours after I was called and told that when I took it for an oil change at a different location they didn't install the air filter properly , that's the reason the car was acting up. I only paid for the diagnostic of the car . I was happy to find a place that was honest since most shops In tj will up charge. Will be back for sure ! Thanks Carlos!

Cheap work can lead to very expensive damage…read more I would give BM Workshop zero stars if I could. I had my front lower control arms and front air springs replaced here, and I am now paying another shop to repair problems that appeared after their work. The air suspension was not calibrated after installation. A one-directional suspension bolt was installed backward, damaging a brand-new bushing. Even worse, the lower ball-joint bolt was left loose, and the ball joint subsequently failed. The suspension fasteners were also not tightened to the specified torque values. I still have squeaking and crunching from the suspension and am now paying to diagnose and replace newly installed parts. I asked BM Workshop for a refund, and they refused. I went there to save money. It has ended up costing me much more. Based on my experience, stay away.

I waited a few months to give this review just to see how my old car would hold up!…read moreShe's a 1989 Mustang convertible and I've owned her since I drove her NEW off the lot here in SanDiego 37 years ago! Earlier this year, she'd started leaking transmission fluid and she'd already had a long time issue with keeping the cooling system going... I also knew my brakes were acting up but well...money! So for months and months it was refill the radiator and transmission and cross my fingers! Finally I did some research and decided John's was the place to go! After I dropped her off, I was given a list of other issues she had (a few belts and hoses) which didn't surprise me any given her age! lol! My chassis and internal mechanisms aren't what THEY once were either! Ha! Anyway I told them yes, to go ahead and repair the "must have fixed" issues! She was returned to me in a timely manner and for what I would call an extremely fair price (under $2500) for 3 major repairs, an oil change and even a few new belts and filters! The staff were wonderful with keeping me up to date on how things were going along the way too ...as she's nearly 40 some parts took a minute! Anyway after all these months since I took her in, she's STILL running like a top and even though I check my coolant and transmission fluid regularly, she has never even needed topping off so she's sound as a drum! I'm SO glad I found this shop with all these kind, caring, knowledgeable (and most of all FAIR!) people working away to make my old girl run like she used to!

After having the car for a little over a month and living here in San Diego it's been hot lately but there was a random day that it rained. We that said I turned on my wipers and they did not work. Long story short Audi was telling because it's passed 30 days of purchasing my car I did not have coverage guantee for that anymore. Which led me to coming here! Memo was very straight forward and when I explained my situation he knew it was going to be somewhat of an easy fix! Well after leaving my car upon my return, I come to find out the defuse just needed to be reset. Although I didn't really get any service done here, I appreciate the crew for looking at my car and realizing it was an easy fix! Moving forward I will definitely come back for any future services. And thank you for taking the time to evaluate my car!

I thought I got screwed buying a used car from an older guy who seemed legit. I paid $2,300 in…read morecash, got a clean title, and was told all it needed was a CV axle. I figured I could handle that since I was tight on cash, and the repair wouldn't go over $500. After a quick test drive around the block--where I did hear some clicking, but it didn't sound too bad--I decided to buy it. On my 20-mile drive home, that clicking sound started raising doubts. It didn't seem like just a CV axle issue anymore, though I couldn't quite figure out what it was. The engine and transmission were running great, so I thought it had to be something simple, right? I took it to a highly-rated local shop, and they diagnosed the problem as the front differential or transmission (it's an AWD vehicle). Unfortunately, they said they don't work on transmissions. Well, FML. Next, I took it to a well-recommended transmission shop. After a few days, they confirmed the same issue and gave me a rough estimate of $1,900 to $2,500 for a used replacement. No rebuilt or new parts were available. FMLx2. I then brought it to my go-to guy, who's great at swapping parts and doing some diagnostics. He said he could handle the repair for $1,200, including sourcing a used part. But after two weeks of searching, he had no luck. FMLx3. At this point, I did my own research and decided if I could stay under $2,500, the repair would be worth it based on the car's value. I posted a project on Yelp to solicit bids from local shops. That's when Memo from AAMCO reached out. I was hesitant at first, but AAMCO has been around forever, and Memo seemed legit. I figured they'd either be the most expensive or the most reasonable since they specialize in transmissions. I checked reviews on Google and Yelp, and they looked good, so I decided to give Memo a shot. I dropped by to talk to him, and he was great--super communicative and really listened to my situation. I left the car with him, and the next day, I got a call. Of course, the repair exceeded my $2,500 budget. Same diagnosis: front differential/transmission replacement with a used unit. The estimate was $2,800, but they'd thoroughly inspect the replacement to ensure it was good. So close, but still over budget. I told him I'd call back. I was ready to schedule the car for auction and cut my losses, but something in my gut told me the car was worth saving. I called Memo back and asked if he could do it for $2,700. After some discussion, he agreed to work with me. Two days later, the car was ready. Memo had a surprise for me--the replacement transmission came with a new mount, and they managed to bring the total cost just under $2,600, nearly at my budget. THAT is honesty and integrity. I've been driving the car, and it feels exactly how a 20-year-old car in great shape should. No more clicking noises, and it's running beautifully. Since AAMCO handles other types of repairs, Memo and his team have officially become my go-to shop. I highly recommend seeing Memo at AAMCO if you need reliable, trustworthy service.
