We had 31 tourists in our group, but it seemed smaller. He gave us time to take photos, but didn't make photos the overwhelming reason for our tour. Instead, he gave us a real sense of the city. Rian kept up our pace making sure we were all safe crossing streets. I would highly recommend this tour.

Sam gave us a lot of history and background to his city. Some points of interest visited were: - Old Melbourne Gaol, a former prison where Ned Kelly (a bushranger who was considered both a hero and a villain) was hung, and it's now part of RMIT University and a museum - Princess Theater, where a seat is always left unoccupied in honor of Frederick Federici, and the theater is supposedly haunted by his ghost - Chinatown, the oldest Chinatown in Australia and filled with cheap eats - Federation Square, a large public space great for televising live sporting events as well as for rioting - Flinders Station, the largest and busiest metro station in Melbourne - various alleyways that have cute cafés and restaurants that are prefect for bunch and lunch - street art that's legal at some alleyways

21/7/12 we booked in a winery tour for 26 people over 2…read moremonths ago, sent our itinerary, which was confirmed via email. However during the week were emailed & informed the bus had to be back 30 mins prior to our scheduled time. This morning the day of our tour that 26 people were looking forward to, we await our bus for pick up at 8:15. . . . 8:30 we call & they say its on the way. 30mins later Malcolm calls & says the bus is coming but is stuck in "roadworks" (one of our guests lives near the bus company & there were no delaying road works for her!). The bus arrives, AN HOUR LATE! We had our first winery booked in for 10:30am (there's an hour & 1/2 travel time!) old as we expected we complain to the driver and get on board. The bus was PUTRID! It stank. As one of our guests went to sit there were feces on the seat! We disembarked and spoke to the driver, who told us her received a call at 8:15 this morning to take the tour & was working until 3:30 am that morning. How can Butt Bus Lines send people out with a driver who has had only 5 hours sleep? And a bus with S H I T on the seats?! So be warned you can't take glass / stubbies on the bus BUTT feel free to wipe your ass' on the seat! Really sad as I used them 5 years ago & they were brilliant. Luckily we had some very generous mates who nominated to drive us all so we didn't miss our tour due to the incompetence & unhygienic facilities offered by BUTT BUS LINES. And we still haven't heard back from them, no apology no explanation. . . . .

We did a full day Penguin Tour to Philip Island with Penguin Island Tours…read more The price was very reasonable for all that is included, like the conservation parks, snacks and of course the transport itself. We were picked up on time from our hotel - or you can meet at the Flinders location which some people did. We had Kurt as our driver and he was super nice. He gave us some good tips on the various places were were visiting and we felt safe with him as a driver. Some tips overall - make sure you print your voucher for faster processing and bring warmer clothes for night - even on a hot summer day in Melbourne, we froze our booties at the Philip Island Penguin Viewing. Reason for a 4 star rating is the coach itself - it was a bit small and at one point, you drive for almost 2 hours on your way back from Philip Island to Melbourne. Try to sit in the very back or very front for a little extra leg room!

I loved loved loved penguin island!…read more I booked online and boarded the coach at the pick up point on flinders street. My ticket price included return journey and a meal and drink whilst at the penguin parade. I went on a night in october and did not appreciate how cold it would get so i would advise wrapping up warm and taking some blankets whilst outside on the viewing platform. It was amazing to see the little penguins come onto the beach at night and really was an unforgettable experience. My only downpoint was the guides were constantly telling to not take pictures as this can stun the penguins but i saw loads of toursists do it. I dont understand why they would do this. Really disrepectful! The journey is long but our bus driver was fab in pointing out local landmarks on the way out and letting us sleep on the way back.
