I had the stock sound system in my 2014 Nissan Altima replaced. I set my appointment with Mario via text message, he was very receptive and thorough. He met and installed the speakers at my job while I worked during the day. The customer service was great, and he even followed up with me a few days later to ask me how the car sounded. The car sounds amazing - sound comes through much better than the speakers the Altima came with. The new instillation make driving much more enjoyable. I will be sure to send any friends that are looking to have audio installed to Mario at Automotive Electronic Specialists. read more

Mario was an amazing help with excellent customer service! He replaced the digitizer in my Tahoe and also helped me troubleshoot a separate issue with great results. Highly recommend!!! read more

Mario is one of a kind. He came to my house, installed my beautiful Kenwood HD radio system in less than an hour, showed me how to use it, was incredibly polite, great people skills, very knowledgable, hard working and best of all detail oriented. He cut out the hard plastic plate for the faceplate perfectly, set it in there beautifully and now everyone of my friends is asking who did it. Anyways, I hope you call this guy if you need anything car stereo related. Also he has a 1 year warranty on his work! read more

When I got my truck in 2007, it didn't have a tape deck or an aux jack to plug in my iPod, so I was forced to be the guy that had a trillion CD's in his car at all times like it was 1999 or something. After this finally got too frustrating for words, I let my fingers do the walking and found Mario at AES. I gave him a call and I let him know that I needed a new head for my stereo system. He pointed me to a model he thought met my specifications and set an appointment for the following Wednesday. The Wednesday came and he rolled up to my apartment right on time. The whole installation took about 30 minutes. I grabbed my iPod and we tested it out right there. Mario knew what he was talking about; the deck he installed was exactly what I wanted and I swear it even makes the speakers sound better. He never once tried to upsell me into something I didn't want or convince me to overhaul the whole system for an insane amount of money. In fact, his price was well within my budget. He was courteous and answered every question I had about the installation and the system. He even gave me a year-long warranty on the work he did. If I need any other car audio work, he has my business permanently. I cannot recommend him enough. read more

I hate to besmirch a place so highly rated by Yelpers, but I have now contacted this place THREE SEPARATE TIMES -- twice by email, once at their listed mobile phone (no one answered, but I left a voicemail) -- to set up a time for a simple stereo install (replacement of my head deck and replacing all of my six speakers - I already purchased all of the parts separately). NOT ONCE did they give me even the courtesy of a "hey, we're really busy right now" reply -- and note that I contacted them three times over a TWO-MONTH period. On my most recent call, yesterday morning, I told them (truthfully) that my schedule for this particular week happens to be almost entirely flexible, so I'd be available pretty much anytime for an install. No dice. Three strikes and yer out. Sorry, guys. read more

I called around today to get quotes on installing my boyfriend's radio but I hit dead ends. Best Buy would not even answer their phone! Thankfully, Mario called me back and gave me a reasonable quote. He showed up exactly on time and was done in less than 25 minutes! I was very impressed with his quality of service and timeliness. Since he is mobile, he comes to your place, which makes it much more convenient! I would definitely recommend his services! read more

Amazing service! I had a factory stereo in my 04 tacoma and wanted something with newer features that would interface with my Iphone. I saw the great reviews here on Yelp, and gave Mario a call. I told him the features I was interested in (touch screen, blue tooth, rearview camera) and he made suggestions with prices comparable to my research. I made my decision and he came to my place of work and installed the wonderful system right there while I worked. Completely trustworthy and very professional installation, looks better than factory. Thanks Mario. read more

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I had previous work done at a car stereo shop that I thought would be credible. I was referred to Mario to help diagnose and make the sound better and he did just that and more!!! The previous shop with over priced labor had the wires mixed up and made the nice speakers I bought sound terrible. Mario fixed it right up and I can't WAIT to drive again lol! Don't trust a big name shop! MARIO is your man! read more

Mario! Thanks for making my car stereo awesome! Mario was great to deal with, and extremely professional (respectful of my time) in all of our dealings. He gave me great prices, and the best components I could ask for. Everything was installed and programmed perfectly, over my lunch break. I can't say enough how happy I am with how it turned out, as well as how much it all cost. Thank you! read more

Amazing communication from Mario. He was polite and very efficient. Did a great job on my jeep. Would recommend him for anyone needing audio work. read more

This is a mobile service. They work by appointment only. Don't go to the address listed by the business. Be prepared to be treated rudely. Did I mention they are by appointment only? If you forget the owner will be happy to remind you several times as if it's annoying that you called. I went to River Oaks Car Stereo and they helped me out the minute I walked through the door. read more

Mario was leagues ahead of every other car audio place I inquired with in terms of service, congeniality, and attentiveness. He answered any questions I had promptly, and with good information. I would encourage anyone seeking car audio installation in the Houston area to at the very least give him a call. He may not always be the cheapest, but he is the best and will go above and beyond your expectations and is worth every cent! Highly recommended. read more

Mario is the man for car audio & a bunch more. This is a class act. I had a problem with my Infiniti G35 audio system. Mario quoted me a price over the phone & he came to my house at noon today & completed the dismantling & hookup of a new car stereo with bluetooth, Ipod & aux hookup. He is personable & tidy. read more

I called to check if my 2008 Honda Accord sound can be fixed because it wasn't producing any sound. Mario was not available but he tried to help me figure out what was wrong with my stereo over the phone. He said he would look into it and get back with me. Later, he called back and gave me a helpful suggestion, and so I ended up not needing his service after all. For that, I am grateful because I don't know how much I would have spent going to get my radio fixed elsewhere. I will use his service in the future if I ever have another problem. read more

Mario has put radios in 2 of my cars. He knew exactly what I wanted and was prompt and professional. You can trust the job will be done right. I highly recommend him. read more

Called Mario to fix my Mom's 2001 Yukon speakers. The radio face plate was replaced years ago but never the speakers and they sound like crud! I hate putting music on even when I have to drive it! He said all 4 speakers typically go out in those and the subwoofer will probably need to be replaced and it'd take 2-3 hours. He quoted a very reasonable price. He kept in touch with me letting me now he was picking up the supplies and when he was on his way. He was actually early (even better)! He went straight to work on it and now it sounds great! He gave it a 1 year warranty and Mom is pleased! I will be using him again! read more

If I could give six stars, I would. Mario responded to my voice mail immediately, offered to come to my house the next day. Provided info about options for how to do what I wanted to in my car. Installed the elements of my sound system carefully, gave me good advice about an additional step I am considering. Mario takes his work seriously, and I look forward to using him again. read more

Installed head unit in my car for a decent price but I've had issues ever since the installation. When I got no sound from one of the speakers in my car after a day or two, I tried to contact them and left 2 messages with no callback so I'm guessing they don't warranty their work, would not recommend. read more

Mario Rodriguez is an absolute professional. Communication, mentioned in past reviews as a sore spot, was immediate, impeccable and timely. I think they may have had an incorrect number. The phone numbers all match now. He installed a Viper alarm system and remote entry locks for a 1980 C10 with manual everything, even having the parts on hand to hook up the missing 1980 door wiring. His mobile operation makes it so convenient as he drove out to the suburbs to accomplish this in less than three hours. He does prefer cash over checks. Highly recommend and will use him again for installing inside lights to work with the remote access. read more

Like another yelper already mentioned the owner is not very responsive. A return phone call in a timely manner is not too much to ask as far as customer service. However, when he did return my call he showed up when he said, did a great job, and charged a reasonable price. Provides a good service if you can get it ;) read more

Quick , honest and reliable. Installed a pioneer stereo for my truck and it looks and works perfect. Highly recommend him for your installations. read more

Mario is the man! He came by my place and had me setup in no time. The cost of the installation was cheaper than if I brought my car somewhere and had to wait. He took the time and care to make sure it sounded good and that nothing rattled. His craftsmanship was superb as well. Everything looks super clean. Highly recommended. read more

Mario took the time to research and find the proper replacements for my front door speakers. He came to my office garage and did the install while I was at work. The end resulted in a very professional and clean install. My speakers sound great and the price was very reasonable. I highly recommend his services. Thank You Mario. read more

Excellent service! Mario was extremely responsive by phone and text in advance of our appointment. He arrived promptly, then - in less than an hour - quickly diagnosed and fixed the after-market power locks the previous owner had installed. It was all incredibly efficient and professional - I was very impressed. read more

Automotive Electronic Specialists just completed a radio installation in a Ford Expedition for our family. Mario Rodriguez performed the install and proved to be knowledgeable, courteous and professional. Mario arrived at the pre-determined time and provided a text update on his travel to our location. The installation was completed in an exceptional manner. Not only was the new radio unit operating promptly, it was extensively quality checked prior to Mario determining the operation was complete. For us, time was of the essence...and, Mario did not disappoint. Immediately upon arriving, Mario was "fast at it" and did not pause until the install was performing to our and his satisfaction. Importantly, the Expedition dash opening required considerable re-work. The modifications to the dashboard proved to be no challenge whatsoever for Mario. The installation cost was quite fair and the installation service was performed in a manner which certainly exceeded our expectations. We would recommend anyone consider Automotive Electronic Specialists, and especially Mario Rodriguez, to address their sound system or automotive electronic issues / needs. read more

This is the GUY!!!! 2000 F250 whole new system w/ back up camera. Works like a champ. Came to the firestation and installed while I was at work. Very neat and clean and the job was very professionally done. read more

When I was in high school (I am 31 now), I installed a couple of car stereos..so when the stereo in the car I have now broke and needed a new one, I figured I could easily install it myself. Installing a new unit isn't as easy as it used to be (four speaker wires, power, ground, remote..and done). You want to retain steering wheel controls? You need an adapter and special harness. You want to use the factory XM antenna? You need an adapter and another special harness. If you have a factory premium stereo (Bose, JBL, Etc), this complicates things even further. Unfortunately for me, I figured all of this out after I had the car completely torn apart. I found Mario's information via yelp and gave him a call. He came out the same day and did a fantastic job. He fixed what I had screwed up and had a positive attitude about it. Highly Recommended Install information: 2008 Corvette: Kenwood DDX790 head unit, plus hidden Bluetooth microphone and XM stereo antenna. He also installed a backup camera hidden in the back license plate bracket. read more

Mario is very reliable and makes sure that his customers get what they pay for. He installed an AUX port for me. Before he left we tested it and it worked fine. A few hours later I started losing sound out of all of the left speakers. Mario came back out and replaced the port and while testing this new one, found that it also was intermittently losing sound out of the left speakers. He then went back to his warehouse to get a different style of port and came back to install that one, which fixed the issue. While it is unfortunate that he had to come back twice, he got it all done the same day and stands behind his work, plus a one year warranty. I would highly recommend. read more

Mario was very cool throughout the entire troubleshooting period with my van. The previous owner of the vehicle apparently had installed an aftermarket stereo and did not reconnect all the proper wiring back to the stock radio they put back in when selling. After testing the amplifier and individual speakers on their own, it came down to the wiring behind the stereo and what looked like a nightmare was solved within 10 minutes. I did have to pay for a used but fully functional identical replacement amplifier but other than that, pricing was reasonable for his time. Highly recommend Mario from my first experience. read more

I hired Mario to install an auxiliary cable in my car, and he performed the installation with aplomb. He exhibited excellent communication, performed a quick install, responded immediately and came to my house when there was a small issue, and fixed it in a timely fashion (free of charge). I would (and will) recommend anyone in need of quality car audio to Mario. read more

The glowing reviews here are true; AES also exceeded my expectations. Mario was prompt, professional, friendly, helpful, and very knowledgable. He completed a fairly complicated installation in my vehicle at a very reasonable price, and the install looks great. He also installed a new radio and speakers on my wife's car. One of the best things about his service is that he is mobile, so rather than having to drop our vehicles off over night or wait around for a couple of hours in shop, we had a chance to stay at home while he worked on our vehicles. We couldn't be more pleased with how the install turned out, and have no hesitation about recommending AES to my friends; we will use this company for any future installations on our cars. read more

Forget any negative review you read about this guy. I called him up on a Monday morning. He had two appointments ahead of me but said he would fit me in that day. Came to my work and 45 minutes later my new radio was installed. Great service. Quick and professional. read more

I called the phone numbers listed on Yelp and their website multiple times with no response. I even filled out a request from on their website, again with no response. I wish I could give the review zero stars, because that's what I feel about it. What a horrible way to do business. read more

My factory speakers were blown in my Tahoe. After seeing the great reviews, I contacted Mario to see if he could help me. Folks...this guy is the real deal. When was the last time you did business with someone who wasn't looking to try to sell you their most expensive product? I told Mario what I wanted and he said he would make sure to install speakers that I would like at a price that wouldn't break the bank. He came out exactly when he said he would and installed my new speakers and they sound great. He told me that I was missing some bolts from my door panel... he replaced those (at no charge)...I told him people were saying my bluetooth didn't sound very well...he worked on that (at no charge). He had me up and running in an hour and a half. He and his assistant were as polite and hard working as any I have ever dealt with. Don't even think about going anywhere else...you will not be sorry. read more

Had to have my daughters siriusxm, gps, am/fm radio replaced as it was a 2009 model and had quit working. Called Mario Friday afternoon at 2:30 and he had a good solution for us by 3:00. He offered to come to our house at 4:00 that day! We had a conflict so he came to our house Saturday. His installation was outstanding. His customer service was as good as I've ever seen. As I'm busy like everyone else, I can't emphasize enough how much I appreciate good customer service. I would highly recommend Mario. read more

Called Mario based on reviews here. Have a car I bought used that had some unknown aftermarket alarm in it - I couldn't stop the horn from chirping all the time. He met me at my office (within 90 minutes of me calling!) and had it done in literally 20 minutes. He's no punk kid - has gray in his beard & knows his $h!t - He located then determined the make & model of the alarm, was familiar with it, and reprogrammed it, all within an amazing short timeframe. I couldn't be happier with his service & knowledge. Will definitely use him again! read more

Very pleased with the service Mario provided. He was very convenient since he's mobile, and very fast (it took him 30 minutes to install the Bluetooth kit in my Lexus), and he does great work. Would highly recommend! He's really busy and a little hard to schedule with, so be patient. I only say that because one review said they couldn't get ahold of him. You just shouldn't expect an immediate call back, but he will respond. He called back the next day and was very accommodating. You can also text him, which might be faster. He ended up charging me $20-45 more than he estimated in our initial conversation, but he did such great work and was so reasonably priced, that I didn't care that much. Definitely use him. You won't regret it. read more

I called Mario to talk to him about upgrading my system in my 2011 Hyundai Sonata. I replaced the head unit, added an amp, subwoofer, replaced the existing speakers, and added XM. He helped me with my purchase choices and came to my house to install it. He did a wonderful job. In fact, I was so pleased, I upgraded my wife's as well. I would HIGHLY recommend his services. You'll be far better off working with him and taking advantage of discounted online equipment or buying it from him and not at a local store. You'll just end up overpaying for it. Call Mario And have him install it, you'll be very glad you did! read more

Highly recommend. My wife has a 2001 Suburban the speakers were shot. When the kids were little they had stuck change in the CD player and it made the radio cut in and out all the time. As a mom of a 16 year old son I had no idea where to look to get good quality sub woofers for my son for Christmas. I spent about 5 (grueling) hours with my son going from 290 to Harwin getting quotes on various systems and frankly didn't understand much of what I was told. Wanting to teach my son the process of researching an item before purchasing we Yelped to read reviews before making a decision and we found Mario with a consistent 5 star rating and knew he was our man. Mario came by to look at my son's truck and then called me back and gave me a quote which was very reasonable and included the right equiptment for what our job required. I wanted a reasonable system but didn't want to sacrifice sound quality. We set up an appointment and Mario and Eric came to our home with exactly the perfect size box for my son's truck model, precision tools and quality stereo equiptment. Within about 2 hours my son had the system of his dreams! Mario also installed a horn we had purchased and checked the security system that we were having a few issues with. He explained how to operate the system and left our driveway cleaner than it was when he came. Mario is the best and I whole heartedly concur that his ratings of 5 stars are very accurate and if I could give him 10 stars I would. Thank you Mario and Eric for a great quality job performed with honesty and integrity. read more
