Glamping at its best! This property offers a glamorous camping style. Got begun your journey inside the architecturally stunning main lodge. Inside there is wine taps, s'mores kits, and more. The staff are super friendly. Outback is a gas fire with chairs around. You can select a tent, airstream or small house. We wanted the comfort of our own bathroom and shower, opting for a premium small house. It was perfect! We were treated to deer right outside our window. We got wood and a fire starter at the Price Chopper down the street and had a fire right outside or tiny house. It was so nice. It was easy camping, no camping skills required! See website for more details.

I was initially excited to visit AutoCamp Catskill, especially with their new partnership with Hilton in 2024. However, my experience at AutoCamp Catskill was deeply disappointing due to the unethical and predatory practices of the General Manager, Cathy Johnson, and the lack of accountability for safety concerns. During our stay, a significant safety issue arose when the bathroom window of the AirStream Cabin malfunctioned and broke. The latch mechanism failed while we were trying to open the window to air out the room, causing the pane to open unevenly and shatter. This breakage was a direct result of a faulty and jammed mechanism, not misuse or excessive force, as Cathy later claimed through email. Importantly, this is not an isolated incident--a previous guest reported a similar issue that was never resolved, which highlights a troubling pattern of neglect. When we brought this concern to Cathy's attention, we were met with dismissive and contradictory responses. Instead of addressing the safety issue, she accused us of intentionally breaking the window, despite having no evidence and not being present during the incident. Our attempts to provide photo evidence of the faulty mechanism were ignored, and she insisted the window had passed a quarterly safety check. This claim is particularly concerning given the unresolved complaint from a prior guest from the previous quarter, suggesting that such issues are ongoing and unaddressed. Equally troubling was the lack of communication and accountability. We reached out multiple times via text, email, guest feedback, and ultimately escalated the issue to Hilton Guest Correspondence. Cathy responded only once and failed to engage further after receiving the photo evidence. This lack of engagement raises serious concerns about whether guest safety or satisfaction is a priority at this property. The AirStream Cabin itself was aesthetically pleasing, but the lack of attention to safety and the predatory manner in which management handled this incident overshadowed any positives. It appears that their focus is more on extracting financial recovery from guests than ensuring a safe and enjoyable stay. As a loyal Hilton member, I expect a standard of quality and care that was absent at AutoCamp Catskill. I strongly urge Hilton and AutoCamp to reevaluate the management practices at this location. Until changes are made to address guest safety concerns and foster ethical accountability, I cannot recommend this property to others. I've included a photo of the broken window, showing visual evidence that the uneven opening, contradicting claims from the hotel property that no faults were present. This was taken immediately after the window had broken contemporaneous to opening using the latch. The window was not previously tampered with.

Here's our review and pros & cons of our 5-night stay at auto camping in an airstream. Checking in went somewhat smooth. Even though it seemed like the first day had some hiccups, they did their best to make it right by us. There's a chalkboard with events that are usually scheduled a few days at a time. One day, they had a food truck come by that wasn't bad, but some of the events were canceled. They would also text you with updates, events going on or issues to keep you in the loop as to what's going on. Pros: the air stream is roomy with privacy between rooms, provided utensils, AC unit kept the camper cool, the staff was overall helpful, especially Mr. Rodgers aka Corey and Colin, plenty of parking, dog friendly, the solar fire pits for grilling, sitting and table by your site, plenty of parking, you could text them for anything needed such as towels, dog bags around the grounds, small fridge and microwave, blue tooth system in trailer for music, TV with plenty of channels, usb ports, carts to bring your items to and from your site. Cons: we saw that some people checked out or just left early, and the trailers weren't cleaned out right away or for a couple of days, which could lead to mice, which is probably what happened with our trailer. When we checked in, we found droppings in the utensil drawer and by the garbage can. They ran out of fire starters. Booking a premium air stream just means you have no one behind your trailer, water pressure in the airstream, especially the shower is nonexistent unless you figure out the trick to getting more pressure, the AC system is loud to the point that you can't hear people talk, the bed was hard, and we always woke up with back pain. This place can be great, but it's just unorganized. Just some tips: put your cart back after using it. If you have an airstream and want a shower with pressure, use the ones in the clubhouse because the pressure is so much better, unless you figured out the trick. If you need to buy wood, go to the gas station or price chopper for cheaper bundles, looking for a place to cool down, search big deep on yelp or apple map it's about 10 minutes down the road just clean up after yourself. Request a trailer from number 201-215. We also found that while sleeping, if you shut off the bedroom zone for the AC and close the bedroom door, it still keeps the trailer cool and quiet and a lot less noise while sleeping. You can also do the opposite as far as zones during the day while in the living room area.

Already booking another trip. Private- yet not isolated. Can be intimate. Can be social. My wife and I did a last minute getaway- and booked AutoCamp. We are a Queer POC couple. Best decision. Before arriving- my wife contacted the property and immediately we knew it was going to be a good trip. Corey (I hope I spelled it right) was GREAT! He had us cracking up- feeling very welcomed. Everything done with a big smile. We have stayed at similar concept properties and this was by far the best. Everything is thought out. We pulled up- entered the beautiful guest area to check in. Spacious and clean- with a 24hr general store available. Greeted by Corey and two other staff members - we had a quick and easy check in. Corey then showed us where to park and drove us over to our cabin in a cart with our bags and belongings. The complimentary firewood was great! (Other places usually have a charge for it). Entering our suite- we couldn't have asked for something better. Thoughtfully laid out - you have a private room, kitchenette area, and full bathroom. Modern and up to date, we had no issues. Warm water with nice pressure for our showers. Clean towels and robes to relax. Cute sofa to sit on while watching tv. Bed was so comfortable too! Storage space was great and the smallest things were thought out. Down to placements of outlets and light switches. Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay for our trip. Trails lit up with string lights which allows you to enjoy them at any hour. Entertainment in the common area guest check in. Games to play, sometimes live music. Indoor fire pit. Outdoor fire pit. A bar. A kitchen to order from. Absolutely returning.

    The tent

We just finished a 2 night stay at auto camp. The grounds are beautiful and the clubhouse is a nice place to hang out. However my issue is that the tent we stayed in was absolutely filthy. The tarp is covered in mold and I found mouse droppings by the night table. Additionally the shower stalls/ bathroom stalls in the clubhouse don't look like they are being well cleaned as the toilet bowl is always filthy and the showers have hair at the bottom. Won't be returning.

first time going glamping and i quite liked it! pros: -the airstreams are soooo cute! and the space is well-decorated. -helpful staff: we locked ourselves out by accident and they quickly gave us another key card. they also help campers start fires in case they needed help (we didn't need help, but it's good to know that they do). cons: -extremely weak water pressure, the hot shower that i was looking forward to after being drenched by the summer t-storm was very unsatisfying. -sofa wasn't thoroughly cleaned: it had lots of dog hair on it and the person who was sleeping on the sofa bed was reasonably icked out. -not many bikes were available for use: i thought i saw 7-8 bikes on social media but i've only seen like 2 on site. i also think that with the fire pit being the only way to cook food, it'd be really helpful to have a big umbrella of some sort to prop up over the outdoor area while we cooked in case of a huge rain. nevertheless, it was a pretty good experience and i'd like to go back again!

Such a fun experience! We rented a 30' Airstream trailer for the weekend in December. It was soo airy and clean. The mattress is super comfy. We were both super excited to spend the night there. The main clubhouse was huge and had tons of seating from couches, to loungers, to chairs. We sat outside at the fire ring which was really nice on a super cold night. It was a gas fire pit; not wood burning so you don't get the sounds of cracking wood but you also don't smell like burnt wood. In the morning they had delish coffee and granola for guests. Plus they had some other items you could pay for. My boyfriend and I both ordered a hot breakfast which was affordable and delicious. I will be back!

We relaxed, hiked, and enjoyed the quiet outside away from city life. Liked · The staff service was exceptional and responsive. The Tent was comfortable and clean. We were able to relax and felt safe. The staff was very knowledgeable about the experiences/adventures the Autocamp offered. We would have liked pamphlets about local sites or activities. Also, it would be nice if the location had at least one day and one evening activity/game for campers to join in.

Dog off his leash but there's a 350$ dog policy that tells you not to do this.

The parking lot was pretty packed but throughout the trails people were pretty evenly spaced out. Parking: most people park at the Laurel-House Road parking area, because it is the closest. Or you can park at Mountain Top Historical Society, the old train station, which an extra mile. Starting from the old railroad station is nice, you can still see some old tracks on the ground. Walk to the overlook is fairly easy, once you get to the start point of Lower falls junction, it is where you need to be prepared. I recommend hiking shoe, especially in colder months where the ground is wet and iced. When you reach to the stone steps, they can get slippery. I am surprised no one fell in late March. Half of the steps were cover in ice and people were wearing regular sneakers. Once you reach the base of the two tier falls, the view is tremendous. If water levels are high, you can feel the energy of the water. There is a lot of spray from the falls when you get close. There is short trail to the middle tier pool. It was iced up during winter, spikes will definitely be useful. The end was amazing too. So close to the lead of the waterfall. You can keep going and follow Escarpment trail and follow the edge of the valley. There is monument for fireman Frank Layman who died during firefighting in 1900, at his monument, you can see route 23A bend around mountain. And if you keep going, there are a couple viewpoint to overlook the valley. Nice break points to enjoy the view and rest your legs.

We drove over two hours to visit my husband's childhood campground for the first time with our three kids (ages 5, 7, and 9). When we arrived at the entrance, we were asked if it was a day visit, and we said yes, we were only staying for the day. We paid the fee, received a map, and drove in. My husband was so excited to finally share this place and create memories with our children. Looking for a place to park, we thought we were lucky to find an empty campsite in one of the loops where he used to camp as a child. We parked the car hoping to enjoy the view of the lake, take a walk, and maybe make the kids a couple of s'mores before heading home. At around 2:15-2:30 p.m., the "SUPERVISOR" in the white Kia approached us in an extremely rude and nasty manner, speaking as if we were committing a serious crime and comparing our situation to "sleeping in someone else's hotel room." She asked us if we had a reservation; we said no. She said, "Someone else reserved this spot." We were very apologetic, embarrassed, and immediately put our stuff in the car. I said they could have told us; we would have moved right away. I'm sorry. She said, "They aren't supposed to talk to you; that's why they send me here." She told us we had ten minutes to leave, waited there while we put our chair, blanket, and s'more cookies in the car, and refused our 9-year-old daughter access to the bathroom while we packed up our three things, and even followed us out of the loop to make sure we didn't park elsewhere. My daughter came to us crying because the lady told her she couldn't use the bathroom and had to get in the car. Well, she had an accident in the car right as we were pulling out. We were mortified and apologetic. My husband even offered to leave the firewood we had just purchased for the next campers, but she was dismissive and harsh about that as well. The following day, I called and asked to speak with a manager to explain how we were treated. The manager was just as unfriendly and miserable sounding as the supervisor. I was told they had been looking for us "for hours" and that it's "common sense" not to park in a campsite. She actually said it's considered trespassing. So, a friendly warning for first-time visitors: Apparently, if you don't know that "day use" doesn't mean "park in any empty campsite," just for the day, you're officially a trespassing criminal--at least according to the manager. Yes, really. Reading the website now, I see that check-in for people with reservations is at 2 p.m., which was the time we were trying to make a small fire, so unless someone left their site and returned, it's unclear how they could have been looking for us "for hours." We were right there at 2pm. The website also states: Day Use * Anyone who is not camping is a day-user. Day-use hours are from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Day-users are not allowed between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. We were not camping but didn't realize we couldn't park in an empty campsite. I think "common sense" would be to inform DAY USE visitors at the ENTRANCE to use public parking, especially for families or first-time visitors who may not be camping experts. Bottom line: this was my husband's childhood family spot. We just wanted to take a beautiful fall drive and have a special day with our kids. We understand now that we needed to reserve the parking spot ahead of time, and it was an honest misunderstanding. I would have even offered to pay for the campers' stay for their trouble. What we wish for is that the staff had approached us respectfully and explained the situation instead of treating us like criminals. Imagine being such a miserable person and working in such a BEAUTIFUL and peaceful place for families. This was meant to be a special family day, honoring memories of my father-in-law and creating new ones with our children. Instead, it became stressful and humiliating. Sadly, this is what our children will remember about the day and about North South Lake The photo is the space we took up and the stuff we had with us. Lol

Definitely returning when the sun is actually out. I did the 8.7-mile Castle Point hike (my gut says it wasn't QUITE that long, but I don't want to argue with my book) from the Awosting parking lot down the Mossy Glen Trail (yellow blazes), making a left onto and up Blueberry Run (blue) to Castle Point itself, and then went basically straight down the cliff on the Scenic Trail (lavenderish and formerly light blue), down the Rainbow Falls Trail (orange) and finally making a right on the Lower Awosting Carriageway back to the parking lot. Wasn't crazy about the $10 fee to park - nature shouldn't cost anything - but it is what it is. It's really a shame the weather was crappy because I could tell that viewpoint at Castle Point is legit - it's sprawling and you can see for miles in almost every direction. That's a very cool spot and easily the highlight of the hike. There are some interesting viewpoints throughout the rest of the adventure, but I'd say they're primarily of rock formations and water features, which have their selling points but nothing beats a view at the top. I'm in decent hiking shape right now, and this was just not particularly challenging for me. The only part where I was even a little out of breath (and it was humid, so grain of salt in that regard) was on Blueberry Run, which was a pretty steady incline up, but really not hardcore at all from my perspective. The drop down from Castle Point on the Scenic Trail IS a little tricky and you really want to spend some time there figuring out where your foot is going to go next. Compared to other parks in the tristate area, this one definitely has more hazards, cliffs you could potentially fall down, etc. But same token, it has a ton of these completely flat carriageways as well. It rained while I was on the Rainbow Falls trail and I DID slip/fall on some of the rocks at one point, but that's on me since I willingly came over here knowing what the forecast was. Wasn't impressed by the Rainbow Falls themselves, and neither were the other hikers who were there at the time. Maybe it was just not an ideal situation for them, but it's been rainy the last few days so unclear when you should take advantage of the optics there. The trail blazes were EXCELLENT, easily some of the best I've ever encountered. Each official trail had an accompanying sign that not only gave you the name of the trail, but a map of the nearby area, the grade profile so you can see what types of inclines/declines you'll experience on that trail and tons of basic facts. Really well done stuff. The bathroom situation was pretty good as well, with ample restroom options in the parking lot albeit without plumbing. You get what you get, but I'll take a clean bathroom situation in a heartbeat, regardless. Okay wildlife sightings. The rain I'm sure kept some of the good quality shizzle away, but I got a cool shot of a black vulture and saw an edgy newt. Worth the trek and will return for further investigation shortly.

The way you speak and handle situations is disgusting. This isn't our first time camping just our first time at Blue Mountain and will never be returning there again. We know how to follow rules and regulations but rules can be switched up at any time on how Melanie feels or if you aren't white. A policy was given to us stating quiet time is at 11 pm. Why did Melanie and Tony come to our campsite at 8 pm? To turn off the music. There's a way to speak to people and clearly, they both don't understand that. How else would you think a customer will respond to being spoken to like an animal? That was settled we turned off the music and moved into the woods to have a campfire and share stories. They came back again like a swat team. Tony was giving us a fair warning and Melanie hopped out of the golf cart screaming out profanity in front of young children. I thought this was a family campsite? After a point, we all had enough and will defend ourselves. You can tell how prejudice they are. After they left the campsite they stayed up in the dark by the bathrooms watching us. Talk about purge vibes. I felt so uncomfortable I send out my location to a few of my family and friends. The following morning Melanie goes up to my aunt saying "when are you leaving?" Great way to start the morning. We had reservations till Tuesday. She continued saying we had an hour to pack up and go. A family of 50 with small children, older adults, and young adults. The police did come and told us they were called because we refused to leave. Funny enough we were packing our belongings leaving regardless due to what happened the night before. The officer even said take your time and left. And if you thought that was over we got charged a fee "Leaving campsite dirty" we left it cleaner than when we arrived.

My time came to rough it in the woods because I don't do camping. Dominicans don't do camping. Period! But hubby's a Nuyorican and he loves all this stuff. In a Yurt? Well...That's the question I got when I told folks where I was staying for the weekend. But...it's a give and take and all in the name of love. Right? Caryn & Mark own Awakening Garden grounds. There's a Yurt, 2 Cabins, a Tepee and a Buddha Hut to choose from. (Call or check website for prices). Pitching a tent was definitely out of the question. Now you're asking......what the heck is a Yurt? Well Google says its a, "circular tent"- and that's precisely what it is- but bigger. Our Yurt, has no bathroom- but the 'Bathhouse' is literally 5 steps away (and no...it's not a latrine- by the way). It doubles (or triples) as a small kitchenette with a small fridge, sink and 2-burner hot plate, a full bathroom with a shower, 'Dining Area' and a gorgeous carpeted nook if you want to do Yoga (perfect). Yurt rental for us (at this time of year was $370 ($135 for each of the first two nights and $100 for the third night) plus $30 cleaning fee. It's super comfortable with a Queen-size bed, but there's extra room within the Yurt that could easily sleep at least 2 more people (please double check with the owners first for a payment scale and/or if more people are allowed before you bring your posse). Coming at this time in the Fall was perfect and we didn't need to worry about freezing up here. The Yurt has 2 portable heaters and kept us super toasty for this time of the year. Plus there's a potbelly stove as an added measure. Additionally, there's a baseboard heater in the "Bathhouse". Don't want to pitch a tent? Or do the Hut or cabin stay? But you still want to get that outdoorsy, woodsy feel? Then staying in a Yurt is your best bet to give you a bit of both worlds. Oh by the way...it's just you and Nature at it's finest because there's no TV. And WiFi? If you're lucky- because it comes and goes! Didn't realize how much more I'd appreciate Nature and sleeping in a Yurt made me feel like I was right in the thick of it- which we were. This is totally off the spectrum for me compared to my new fave and up-to-trend hotel- The Emerson- but we wanted to switch things up. I'm really not taking points off because there isn't a TV. Or because we had to walk 5 little steps out of our Yurt and into a Bathhouse. Or because there wasn't a thermostat to regulate the heater. All I kept saying to myself was- 'things could be a lot f*cking worse in the woods'. This Yurt is up to standards and met me in many ways for it being in the woods. 4+1/2! Both Caryn and Mark run Awakening Garden very nicely. It's truly Zen here.

We've been looking for the right mix of nature and comfort for several years and finally found it…read moreat the Awakening Garden. It is off the road and the area is quite large to walk around and feel yourself alone in the woods. At the same time, there is absolutely everything one would need from civilization: hot shower and electricity. We stayed in Thoreau house which has eclectic, but very cosy interior with old furniture and it was very romantic to sleep in the attic. Also, this place is very close to gorgeous Kaaterskill Falls and several nice lakes.
