worst company ever. they made an offer for over $19,000 online after they appraised it they offered me $10k. I went to car max who appraised it and offered $14,600. AutoBuy then offered $14,800. after taking my car and issuing a check 5/29 on $6/3 they stopped payment and my bank who allowed access to the funds 24 hours later was now denied payment by AutoBuy. they were saying my call may be roll back miles and I only knew when my account was negative $14,000 five days later. as of now I don't have my car or my money and AutoBuy the ceo himself is horrible and I recommend going to car max 1st! read more

I was NOT impressed. Arrived while the gentleman was outside looking at another vehicle. Went inside and sat down. He was the only one working on Sunday. He came inside and asked if I had an appointment, I did not, I was a walk-in. Didn't know I needed an appointment considering I was the only person there. I handed him the key and sat back down. He went outside for about 1 minute and came back in asking me how much I wanted for the car. Told him to give me his best offer and put it in writing. He hemmed and hawed about how his system wasn't working but it was fine to input my name, phone, and email address. Long story short, I never got the appraisal. I did get a call from someone telling me I missed my appointment, which I did not, and that I was still waiting for the appraisal, which still never showed. Place does not impress one bit. Looks like a dump. Took the car to CarMax and was treated well, offered the right amount (I know the values), and they were professional. They were $1000 over what the person as Auto Buy spouted off. With great dismay I had to sell my 2006 Ford Expedition. I had no need for an 8 passenger vehicle anymore, and my credit card was over the gas bill.... and we all know that nearing 100,000 miles it was time to say goodbye! My husband called Autobuy and went by Saturday morning and talked to Cory to get the car appraised. The appraisal came in a little lower than we hoped for so we decided to list it on Craigslist for a few bucks more. Well, we all know Craigslist is a fun experience, so we were actually going to take it back to Autobuy when Cory from Autobuy called us to see what we had decided. My husband expressed that it was a little lower than what he wanted and Cory said he would talk to his boss and call us back. Well, he called back with a higher price, and we agreed why deal with weirdos on Craigslist when we can literally have a check in hand by the end of the day. They say that their staff is very professional. It seems to me that your staff wants to devalue your car to offer you a pittance. With all honesty and transparency this review is not reflective of the person who assisted me today because he provided me with great customer service and attention. Solely based on him I would give him and only him a 5, he should be working at Carmax instead of here. This business advertises itself as offering better deals and pricing than it's counter part which is carmax. Got there early enough and not to judge a book by its cover but for a second I thought I must be at the wrong address. The business looks poor maintained and run down. Down to the service they offer let's just say that they were way off of their assessment by almost $3k. When I questioned the young man assisting me about their price beating advertising he said that I would need a valid carmax offer to counter it so when I pulled out my handy offer which I had gotten the night before and pointed out to they were lowballing me by almost $3k. He said that he would talk to his manager and see if they could revise their offer. At that point I knew I was wasting my time but stuck around to see what kind of bs his manager would comeback with. When he came back he said that unfortunately the 15300 was their best offer and the manager wouldn't counter. I thanked him for his good service and time. I made an appointment online and clicked the address listed in my confirmation email and it brought me all the way down past Hollywood which is 27 min away from this place. I called and the girl was like yeah this happens all the time. My thoughts are so fix the way you type your address so people end up at the right spot. When I finally arrive the one guy who is working there by himself is handling another customer. He does everything so I had to wait for him to inspect their car, call them into a tiny room and hear their negotiation conversation. When he finally gets to me and introduces himself he takes my keys and goes to my vehicle. He comes back and asks a couple of questions before calling me into the room, telling me my car is perfect and proceeds to offer me the lowest of all other dealer offers I had received up until this point. When I told him what I wanted he said he would make some calls and get back to me. They called and emailed several times to follow up later but never once made a better offer. I wasted a lot of time coming here. So much for "We pay the max". Put your best price up front and stop hassling people. Within 1 week of coming here I listed it myself for free and got several offers $5000 more than theirs.
