I enjoyed Autobahn ace throwing with my coworkers! We all went here as a team building exercise and had a blast throwing axes and being competitive with one another. At first, we didn't do so great but towards the end our talents started picking up. There is a axe throwing specialists that goes over some rules and teaches your form and technique before you're up to the plate to throw some axes. We personally had a lot of fun. I have been wanting to do this forever!!! Finally, I found some ladies to go with me...woo hoo! Our instructor was Coach Caleb and he was awesome. He showed us a few tricks and just let us go at it! Once we got the hang of it, Caleb showed us some games...and there was a little friendly competition. It is so much fun!!! And once you get the hang of it...and you make a bullseye...you feel pretty darn great let me tell ya!!! I highly recommend it for any day of the week whether you are alone (maybe take out some frustrations) or with friends. It's a great stress reliever for sure...I know, because I needed it!!! I think it's a unique evening out with the guys, gals, or couples. It can also be a great family activity for kids 13+. You won't be disappointed! In case you don't know, this is at the indoor speedway. There is a restaurant and bar inside as well and there is ample parking. Plus, they give a veteran discount (thank you bunches). read more

I think going in the middle of the day definitely should affect my review in sort of a way but not so much so that it detracts from how great this place probably is when it's busy. BUT it was a little weird to be the only people in the space on a Saturday lol. The concept of having the games projected on the target is pretty dope, we enjoyed the zombie game. It's also fair to say that you'd probably want me on your team if you were ever in a zombie apocalypse since every zombie killed was due to a head shot. Just call me the zombie assassin, no big deal lol. But anyway that's all we did there pretty much. The dude that helped us out stayed with us the whole time which was nice but at times weird. Do wish the space was a little darker around the target so you could see the targets a little better and that the target wood was changed out. But that's really my only complaints. read more

Recently had a team event for work at Autobahn Axe Throwing. We rented out the axe throwing part for a few hours during the day for our team building exercise. For me axe throwing comes pretty natural since as a kid I spent a lot of time throwing hatchets at trees and other things. So it wasn't hard at all. But for some of my coworkers who have never even held a hatchet did have a challenging time. It was fun and all, but after about 3 times throwing it just gets kind of boring and old. I recommend if you go to Autobahn Axe Throwing you bring extra money for video games or to race the go carts. read more

Some of my family and I went to Autobahn but not everyone wanted to go karting so we tried out axe throwing! My cousin had never axe thrown before and the instructor taught her how to do it and she ended up loving it! We played various games and it was a lot of fun, I can't wait to go again! read more

Fun & friendly environment. Coaches are there to answer any questions, and walk you through everything if you're new. My brother took me axe throwing once, and now I'm hooked! I always come back to Autobahn because of their great customer service. Nick, Mark, Chad, & Dean have all been friendly and very helpful. As long as there's an open lane, you can throw pretty much anytime Autobahn is open. I tried going to another axe throwing place in town (by Regency) just to check it out. However, they seem to be by appointment only, and don't answer their phone or voice mails. Don't waste your time with those other guys. The team at Autobahn will take great care of you! read more

There are a few axe throwing locations in Jacksonville and I chose this one. I was extremely pleased with the outcome. The staff was excellent and walked us through several games which made it so much more entertaining. Rather than just throwing axes at a wall, it became competition! We played 3 different games and a final elimination. Following that, he showed us some special tricks and we got to try out our newly harnessed skills. This was a lot of fun. Our event was a hot mess. We were less than impressed as were the other groups that were in the same time slot. We booked days ahead and were told to be there 30 minutes ahead of time (6:30). We waited until 7:15 before anything even happened. They kept telling us to wait. It appeared that they were down a trainer or two so they lumped about 15 of people in with us. For the next 2 hours, we did a bunch of standing around watching other people try to figure out how to get an axe to stick. Then we played two games as a group with about 18 people total and 2 throwing bays. The trainer was really nice and it didn't appear to be his fault, but it was a waste of money and I won't recommend it. It was also very discouraging to see our one trainer with 4-5 groups, when next to us was a single group of 4 people with a trainer. Why wasn't this split up better? It was just a let down because this was a night out for my brother's birthday (4 of us) and it was less than impressive. See my notes below on the Itinerary from the AutoBahn confirmation email we received and what happened for us. INTINERARY: - Your two hours of Axe Throwing bliss begins with 15-30 minutes of axe throwing training and practice throws under the guidance of your Axe Coach. (This was over an hour for everyone to go) - This is followed by group and individual axe throwing games. (We played 2 games as a group) - We then spend about 15 minutes trying various trick shots. (We were given "free for all time" for trick shots) - A final game is then run to crown the axe throwing champion! I've heard great things about this place and was really excited to go Axe Throwing, however, upon getting there we were met with our instructor Patrick who was an asshole. We tried to have fun but this guy was just very rude to us the whole time presenting a "drill instructor" attitude and talking to us like we were children. He even made fun of a couple of the party member and made them feel very disrespected. This is very unprofessional behavior and should be dealt with immediately. Not to mention we paid for the 1.5 hour throw and we only were able to throw for an hour before he kicked us out and claimed "we weren't following the rules". We complied with every safety rule implicated, it just seemed like they were tired and trying to get rid of us. I'd love to give this place 5 starts because it has potential but as my first time experience it wasn't a very pleasant one. Do something about Patrick! read more

Really cool place with fair prices you can have a ton of fun at this place as long as you don't have Patrick as your instructor. My group paid for an hour and a half of axe throwing but we're told we were done after an hour and got even less throwing if you factor in all the talking he was doing. He was rude at times and some of the games were very unimaginative. It is disappointing me and my friends didn't have as fun of a time as we should have.
