My longtime mechanic had retired, and I wasn't sure where to go next until I discovered D&G Auto Repair on Yelp! In August 2025, I brought my car in for brake service (pads and rotors replacement). From the very beginning, I felt I was in good hands. Paulo, the manager, responded to my Yelp inquiry almost immediately. He was professional, kind, and attentive. He listened carefully to my concerns and explained everything in a clear, respectful way, something I truly appreciate. I felt a strong sense of trust that he genuinely cared about my car and my safety. When I arrived at the shop, Paulo was just as professional and kind in person. He made me feel confident in my choice to use to D&G Auto Repair. After I left my car, he followed up via text with an estimated bill before starting any work, which gave me peace of mind and control over the process. The shop itself is small but clearly run by expert technicians, and the waiting room is clean and comfortable, a nice bonus! I returned yesterday with a question about a noise I'd heard. Tony, one of the technicians, came out and personally walked around my car with me. He pointed out how clean it looked and even asked about repairs I had done elsewhere. He gave me a mini lesson on body repair which was surprisingly enlightening. He then gave me directions to the nearest Auto Parts store and Car Wash. I went here for an engine oil change today and it was a very pleasant experience! All you have to…read moredo is drive into the shop and you don't even have to get out of the car. In 20 minutes, they did basic car checks (tire pressure, checking the battery, air filters, etc) and changed my oil. When they did check my filters, they took them out and showed them to me directly how clean or dirty they were. At the end, they also showed me the dipstick for the engine oil to show that they filled it up. I appreciated this since I know people are weary of being scammed or ripped off by mechanics. They were professional and while they did recommend some optional work be done for an additional fee, they weren't too pushy about it and I feel like they were honest. FYI there is a 20% off coupon on the Yelp page or just check out the main Valvoline website for a discount (I got $25 off).

I am very happy with the work quality, the shop interaction and value is unmatched. I have owned and driven BMWs and Hondas on the south shore for over 30 years and I am grateful for the quality and integrity of this shop!! The owner is professional, experienced and invested in his work and service level and value is far above the level of service at my Honda and BMW dealers where the past few years particularly dealer mis-diagnosing and overselling services is standard, ie last year when I simply needed a new battery from autozone on my Honda CRV the dealer diagnosed a $2,500 bs job which I declined. Since I was getting close to the mileage of needing a complete oil change I decided to go with the full service just so it would be quite a while before I had to get that done again. The oil change took very little time and was done even quicker than I thought it would be. BEWARE! So many other reviews from claim similar issues!…read more Feel obligated to warn future customers! Been to a few of these Valvoline locations including Quincy and Braintree. Wouldn't trust any ever again and definitely wouldn't trust any locations where Shaun is the area manager! After professionals claim negligence on Valvoline's end caused $13k in damages, Shaun boastfully dared my service manager for me to take him to court because he "wins these cases all the time!" Funnily enough, Shaun only calls me on recorded lines but calls the service manager from other (personal?) phone numbers. Service manager and mechanics discovered this leak is supposedly responsible for the damages which Valvoline likely caused and DEFINITELY missed after they changed the oil! We brought the car back after discovering leaking oil and they told us it was fine! Valvoline Social Media team, don't bother responding.
