Not only did he tell me that my belts had to be changed out (they were due), but he actually took the time to show me where the problem was happening underneath the hood! As a teacher, I really value learning and was so pleased with him, his mechanics, and the wonderful job they did changing out my belts, which didn't take long to do. There's a reason people keep saying this place is the best: because it's TRUE. Don't waste your time somewhere else, this is the auto shop to see.

I ended up changing the transmission cooler because I noticed it only struggled to get in gear when hot. Anyways two years later same Jeep Grand Cherokee with the same trans and it shifts perfect and is still going. Maybe it was an honest mistake, what annoys me more is they performed a trans service without my permission, and when they did they striped 3 of the bolts on the pan, I am sure they used an impact gun. The pan leaks now. I don't live in NJ anymore, but I know the shop as it has been there for years. After a bad experience at the Dodge dealer that had been servicing my car, I was without a…read moremechanic. The check engine light popped up and I went to the local Jiffy lube as I knew they had the code reader to diagnose the issue. It was an oil pressure sensor but they didn't perform that type of service and the technician suggested Meineke down the road. Andy, the owner was super accommodating and took the car in, performed the repair and did a complete check of the rest of the car. He noted a few items that could wait and off I went after a fair priced service. As luck would have it, a few days later I noted steam lightly coming out from under the hood. Back to Andy who moved me up the waiting list and repaired what turned out to be a radiator leak and bad water pump. The price was reasonable and his attitude towards service was outstanding. I needed to replace one of my windshield wipers and one of my headlights the other day. The guy behind the counter was more than informative and did not try to give me a hard sell on any of the items. My total came out to $18 dollars (!)... this will run you $50 dollars if you have a mechanic order you the parts and have him do the five minute job for you (at least this is the quote I received from several Caldwell mechanics, which is why the work is done at home.)
