I brought my jeep to Auto Tech of Crystal Lake because I lost a belt driving but I knew I could trust them because they had helped me before. I actually muscled my car with no power steering around a few corners Mind you this is 2:30 on a Saturday. I needed parts for a pulley something. They told me I could pick it up on Monday. The manager then drove me home and had the lovely surprise call me 3 hours later telling me my jeep was fixed!! They went above and beyond what was needed. They also picked me up. The manager explained the bill not condescending but nice and straight forward. I got a discount for no good reason. The manager and the rest of Auto Tech were treated to Nick's Pizza. Had a 12pm appointment, to have our tire rims cleaned & reconditioned and was told it should be about 2hrs. We called at 2:45 and they didn't even look at it, stating that they had several emergencies. They told us that it wouldn't be finished until 4:30. We got our vehicle out of there never to return! Not totally sure these guys actually know what they are doing. Took in my keep wrangler which was diagnosed with a need for a new idler pulley and belt. $700 later problem still not fixed. The recommended a new alternator......replaced it myself. Still did not fix the problem. Throwing darts and hoping for a bullseye leads me to believe the folks here are clueless. i came in asking for a tire rotation, when i checked in and asked to check on service for my vehicle, i went to the back and a tall polish white man, said his name was szymon, said he can rotate my tires, i asked isn't he doing that already? he said MY tires, and proceeded to provide a complementary knee slapper fender bender head service. 10/10 read more

People here are super nice, however the service sucks. Took my previous Volkswagen here to get an oil change got it back and had oil in my engine. took it back they said nothing was wrong with it. (had to trash the car $12,000 overall damage). Tried again with the crappy jeep I had gotten to replace the vw took the jeep in for an oil change got it back and my transmission is knocking. will probably have to trash this car too. read more

Mark an older guy here is very friendly! He should just stay in the front. Older people are always more nicer and humble. Anyways, First time here for an oil change and realize the place down the street on 14 called Trier oil change ripped me off twice for synthetic oil on my car. Found out my car uses 5 quarts only when I was told by "Trier"my car takes 7-8quarts. I never really paid attention to how many quarts of oil they use and how much my car takes. I had to google myself to see how much my car actually takes and I am feeling some type of way thinking Teddy dude was honest, but he wasn't at all. I usually bring it to the dealership to avoid situations like this, but I commute a lot and I get tired and lazy of driving so I wanted to try a local. I came to this place after receiving coupons in the mail and looking at Google reviews..now I am on Yelp a day later and the review on here isn't as bright as they are on Google. So, I wanted to add some brightness. I would of given 5 star, but I'm giving 4 star because there is an employee here that likes to cuss. (He knows who he is.)Anyways, I'm standing behind the black door that has the big square window where it allows you to look out and see your car and I can hear EVERYTHING! I am standing right there and he knew because I heard him point me out (Yes, Ima stand and watch the guy work on my car to make sure he doing his job) ..just because its shut does not mean I can't hear you. And they are working in an open space just makes it more CLEARLY for me to hear behind that door. This is Just an FYI if the big boss is reading this . I guess it more acceptable for him to cuss while he working at this job/business. I'm young (mid-late 20s)and I don't even be cussing like that especially on the job, but to each of their own. The Manager is stupid after I expressed that I wanted to one of his employee and he expressed what we don't do just rear wheel alignments I told him the reason why and I understand is they can do that so he asked to see if she could talk to him manager. This place is great! I had a little tire nail once. First at front dest, i was told it will be cost me $36 for repair the nailed tire. After they finishing the nail removed. I was surprised told with no cost at all. Because the nail did not catch the inner tube. If i was in merlin or some other shop.. They would offered me to get new tire.or even change 4 new tires. Not sure how they got 5 stars but we bought tires from them 2 years ago and drove just over 15,000 miles. The front tires are bald and they won't warranty them because even though they have the receipt that shows we bought them there, the "dot" number is not on the papers. No warranty and no help from them! I'll never go to any Auto Tech again! read more

Been coming here for a number of years for oil changes, new tires, and tire repairs. They are very friendly and honest. My wife had a flat tire and took it to a couple different places. They tried to tell her she needed four new tires even though it wasn't a side wall puncture and the tread was fine. Took it here, $25 and 15 minutes later the tire was repaired with no further issues. read more

Great customer service! Went in to figure out what was wrong with my daughter's car. They were thorough in the explanation of the problem, without making me feel idiot. I hate dealing with car issues, especially lacking the knowledge about how it all works. However, with their explanation and their friendly non-condescending treatment, for once I didn't feel like I was getting raked over the coals and paying for unnecessary work. I would strongly recommend Goodyear/Auto Tech especially for those individuals that fear they're a walking dollar sign whenever they walk into an auto repair place....that's not the case with this shop. read more

I've been going to them for nearly 15 years for all my tire and oil change needs. They have always been great about service and pricing. They just do things right and take care of their customers. They have always been great with my wife. So many times I've gone some where get good service and good price, she goes and gets a million things pitched to here and charged a hire price then I paid. Do not go there they have no idea what they are doing. I took my car in for two back tires which one had a slow leak and a battery that I needed to get jumped every time it got cold. According to those team of experts I needed nothing at all. They were so rude and treated me like I should be grateful that I am paying them to do the work. The guy that called me said we didn't fully explain what was wrong? Since when does the customer have to specifically tell them how to do their jobs. I don't know how I could of spelled it out better for them. Should I suit up and do the work for you? Maybe the guy taking the information needs to be a bit more alert and aware of what he is writing down. HELLO the tires were practically bald of course they needed new ones regardless of the leak. I took it to firestone and they hooked me up with new tires and a battery. They also found other things wrong that was unsafe and needed to be fixed that the so-called professionals at Auto Tech missed. They had my car for 3 days what did they do with it all that time. According to the knuckleheads at Goodyear my car needed no work. If I would of crashed because of them I would of sued the pants off of them. Firestone found a few recalls on my car that Auto Tech never told me about. DO NOT..... I Repeat do not go there they are rude, not knowledgeable, and make you wait before they even acknowledge that you exist. The guy before me was a unhappy customer that left frustrated and unsatisfied and they treated him poorly that should of been a flag to me. Plus, it was a company car so those idiots would of gotten paid for what ever they fixed immediately. The guy who answers the phone didn't even know how to process a company car in the system that belongs to a fleet company. The worse experience ever they all are working with no brains at all very amateur mechanics. They didn't call me I had to call them when the car was finished the day before and when I asked him why they didn't check stuff he got really rude so I said maybe I should just pick my car up....instead of offering a solution the guy says to me yeah why don't you!!! Just not a great way to treat people. Very Unsatisfied and very unhappy with the service by all!!! Thanks but no thanks I wouldn't go there if it was the last mechanic shop available. I called Auto Tech a couple of minutes to 7 pm and spoke to manger on duty, Rich. I was a couple of blocks down Virginia stuck with a child in the car and a FLAT tire. I know nothing about changing a tire. Rich offered to come and help me since I was on his way home. How sweet is that?
