I had a really solid experience with Auto Precision here in Vista working on my 1977 Monte Carlo. It's not always easy finding a shop that understands older cars, but these guys definitely do. They replaced the rear main seal, fixed an exhaust leak, and took care of a handful of smaller things that needed attention. What I appreciated most is that they went through the car thoroughly and tightened everything up instead of just doing the bare minimum. The pricing felt fair for the amount of work done, especially considering it's a classic and not always straightforward. After getting it back, the car runs smoother and feels much more dialed in overall. You can tell they take pride in their work and actually care about what they're putting out. These guys are outrageously priced. I got a bid for my air conditioning. It was over $1,300. I got it done for $518. Unfortunately I had to pay them there diagnostic fee of $157 so I could take it to another place. A-1 Air Conditioning did a fantastic job for almost a third of the price. read more

A few weeks ago my husbands car just stalled. Was told it was the starter, so we replaced it. Less than a week later it stalled again. He managed to get it towed to Auto Precision - AAA recommendation when towing. Though we did not go through them for the repairs. My husband was impressed how honest and helpful Luke and Michael were he wanted me to make sure I did a yelp. (he doesn't have anything to do with computers lol) They were straight with him that his engine was gone, and that though they can do the work, he might want to check with the dealership and make sure it is not covered under warranty. took our car to Auto Precision in Vista, by Discount Tire, to CHECK the breaks, they refused to let us take our car off the lot, without replacing the breaks, we had to pay them for a break job to drive it home, almost $1000.00 and they used the most expensive break linings they could get. I am a female in my mid-20's and know little to nothing about cars. When my car started steaming, I called AAA to get a tow. While I have an auto shop I typically go to and trust, it was too far away for the tow. I was reluctant to trust anyone else because I have been manipulated and up-charged at many places... probably because I look like a female in my mid-20's that knows little to nothing about cars, lol. Precision Auto was a AAA recommended shop, so I took the gamble and trusted AAA. Luke was very professional and personal. When the mechanics got a look inside my car and found it was a bit of a jig saw puzzle (due to an old fender bender), he immediately called me before going further so that I would know that this "simple fix" might turn out to be more complicated than originally anticipated. I appreciated the phone call and the honesty. I got a good vibe from Luke as being an honest person, but I still wanted peace of mind so I had my dad call him. My dad talked cars with Luke and it was immediate obvious that Luke was doing what needed to be done so I could safely drive my car and not looking to up-charge me at all. Took my classic car here for the first time to have some new parts installed - front brake kit, master cylinder and booster, headlights, air filter, and wheels/tires. I want to start out by saying I have not been to this shop with my car yet. But I will be using them for all future repairs and maintenance. To make an incredibly long story short I called these guys to get a labor quote for my car, one that I have been waiting for hours to receive from the shop my car currently sits. They gave me a rough guesstimate within minutes. No wishy washy no nothing. I would have gone with them except my circumstances made me stay with the current shop. (Bummer because I liked them over the phone immediately.) Lesson learned today was do your research into who you are going to use in unexpected situation. I needed an alignment quickly because I had just replaced my bad outer tie rod ends; was referred to them by another shop that wouldn't deal with my lowered suspension. Luke at Auto Precision was willing to squeeze me in that day. Although the adjustment options were limited due to the suspension lowering, they worked hard and took the time to dial in the best settings they could for drivability and low tire wear. I love the way the car handles now and really appreciate the time and care put into the job! On top of that, their fee was very reasonable!
