I have always had a Great experience when dealing with Auto Mufflers! I Highly recommend this place. Wendy, Carlos and Dennis have a professional kind presences about them. They are easy to approach and do not make me feel uncomfortable in anyway. Dennis and Carlos are very informational about any work that I have gotten done here and have zero problem explaining anything I have asked with smiles on their faces. When dealing with anyone else in the bay - they too are kind to point me in the right direction to whom I need to speak with. Their new location is awesome from the outside but as for the waiting area it was not the most welcoming sitting spot. It was out dated, dusty and felt like I was sitting in a 1970's scary movie. I blew a big hole in the muffler on my Land Cruiser and I needed a replacement quickly before I began an 11 hour trip back home. I tried several places that either could not get me in same day or they did not have the muffler I needed but when I got to Auto Mufflers they had a muffler that would work and it took only 15 minutes for Carlos to cut out the old muffler and arc weld in a new one. I'm very happy with the result and the price was only $220. The reason I did not give five stars is because the muffler I got did not match the pipe size exactly. The new muffler had 2 inch pipe and the previous pipes were 2 1/4 inches. So they did not have the exact size muffler I needed. The service was impressively fast. read more

I've known about auto mufflers for years so i decided to give them a try. Had a leak at the flex pipe on my exhaust that needed replacement. Sent a text to the owner that morning asking pricing and availability. He responded promptly. That's where the good customer service ended. When i got to the shop i was the first one there. He brought my car in and put it on the lift. Immediately grabbed the hacksaw to cut the flex pipe off. I asked if he could confirm it was before i go replacing it. He seemed irritated like i was wasting his time. We confirmed it was the flex pipe. He got to work. Half way through the welding part one of the other employees shows up and takes over. It seemed like he was being coached through what to do. Didn't sit well with me. So 30 mins later the car is complete. They back it out and i get in. I immediately notice heavy vibration in the whole car. I drive around the block to confirm. When i bring it back 2 mins later they put it back on the lift and find that the exhaust is now touching the frame. The owner then tells me how that is not their problem. I tell them that it was not like that prior to them touching it. They attempt to fix it. They end up modifying a completely different section of the exhaust that i did not ask them to. It does not completely fix the problem. I'm fed up so i just leave. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. They are rude and don't really care about quality of work. read more

After seeing all the great reviews on Yelp, I decided to try Auto Mufflers. I called earlier in the week to confirm that they would be open after Thanksgiving and was given a quote of $90 to fix gap by my muffler. Just to make sure they were still open after the holiday, I called the day of to confirm that they were open and even made an appointment to come in. They then also gave me a price quote of $100 to fix my muffler. I figured it would still be worth it despite them increasing the initial price quote. When I came at the appointed time, the office was locked and no one was there. I called the office number and got a hold of someone who said that the mechanic was off in the morning but should be there. She said that she would call me back to see what was going on. I waited 15 minutes and no phone call back, so I call them back and three times, my calls were sent directly to voicemail. No one had the courtesy to call me which I think is beyond rude and unprofessional. Glad that I didn't end up getting work done there as the estimate wasn't even consistent over the phone and that they did even have the common courtesy to call me to let me know that no one was going to be there or followup after I had called. read more

I saw in their Mission that says "is to make sure your vehicle is serviced properly on time". However, that was way opposite to me. I been waiting 45 mints since he told me to wait until the lifter been empty for the cars. and then he came besides my car and I ask him in case you here the after market excused's noise, he told me to get off the car and he ride on it. He just reverse and I went to him to ride in the passenger side. He just slammed it in the first and second gear really hard like as he racing on it. I was like he man calm down you do not need hit that hard to hear the noise. Basically you can hear the noise at 2000 rpm. he did not listen to me and return back to his shop and said there is nothing wrong with it. I told him okay let's put it in the lifter so we can see the what is going on it since the previous one did not weld it real good. He said no, I am busy, I have 5 cars after you. I looked back and I saw no cars after me. So, I decide to leave so he would not damage my car if we been negotiate like that. So, basically he just test drive my 2015 Mustang to enjoy it and he cannot fix it. So he just enjoy test drive like in drag race. Just be aware from him guys that he would damage your car. Also, He is so damn rude and unprofessional to deal with. I am just wondering why they are giving him a high rate!! read more

About a year ago I went to this spot as I was referred here. I didn't have such a good experience but I thought maybe they was tired it was Friday and I had no choice as other shop was too busy and I needed to pass emissions (although shouldn't be an excuse to be simply rude to customers) but I said screw it I'll pass their name along. My friend went few months ago and he was told they were too busy to perform work on his car and that he should go the next day. So my friend drove from Baltimore to their shop only to be told they didn't have the material to perform the job. Again was told to come back. The following week my friend instead of driving the hour and half, he called in and he was told the material still hadn't arrived. However I follow them on Instagram and they were performing all type of jobs big and small. My friend gave up and went elsewhere. I thought maybe he had bad luck. This past weekend another friend had noise coming from the exhaust, she called me and what i did was call the shop to make sure they would have time for us and the material. The guy said come in. I drove with her to the shop. Soon as we got there we were escorted up the lift and they began to raise the vehicle. As we waited I greeted Wendy and Carlos. "How have you guys been" Wendy responds, "I've been good thank you for asking and yourself". Carlos responds with a simple head gesture and simply acts as if I was invisible. I walked back into the shop and said what's up to Rob and he says how you been. I felt a little bit more welcome. Now we have news about the car and it was something they don't work on, motor mounts. Well at least that's what the new guy told us. I began to ask a question and Rob looks at his guy and says "yo what happened" guys says motor mounts. Rob replies man drop that shit. So he begins to lower it not saying a word to us, once the car is on the ground again he walks over to someone else as if we weren't still there. I never felt so disappointed, I've recommended these guys to two different friends and they haven't provided the service they claim to provide in their mission. As for the job on their Instagram page they have pictures and videos of them doing work on engines, exhaust, tint, paint jobs/body work, suspension, stereo but I take a vehicle with motor mounts and you can't do it? Or you just didn't feel like it because your friend in the TL suited up just showed up. And if you couldn't perform the job do you just drop a customer's car and walk away? You'd think they'd have the courtesy of walking over in a regretful manner and explain to us they can't provide that kind of service for what ever reason. But it's ok I tried giving them new customers and building a name in my book so that I can continue recommending them. I'm sure my business and of my two friends won't make them go bankrupt nor will it hurt their pockets, and that's exactly how they probably will view this review but I just had to put it out there maybe there is someone out there considering this shop and it'll make them think twice. Wendy is amazing, Carlos does great work, and the prices are fantastic! My car failed a safety inspection because of a hole where muffler meets pipe, and I was able to get it replaced/repaired less than 30 minutes after they had it up on the lift and for less money than I expected. As always, I called around for estimates. I didn't bother to get one at Auto Mufflers because I saw quickly that these people are experts, not just trained to find a broken part and replace it in the manner of the national franchises, but really knowledgeable and skilled at everything about exhaust systems. I think they build custom systems and are enthusiasts. When they said they might be able to weld it, I was sold. They repaired rather than replaced, and their charge was about 1/3 of the lowest other estimate from a run-of-the-mill muffler service. The wait was minimal. They are expert muffler people who do custom mufflers. I feel lucky I found them--I'm thrilled with the work and the cost. Also, bad Mapquest guidance got me close but not to the shop, and they even came out to lead me out of the wilderness. Really nice people, as well as experts. Negative reviews without hard facts about the service often come from flawed personal relations, and it's hard to know who's at fault. This shop does terrific work, and they were very nice to everyone I saw them interact with. My wait was VERY short. read more
