We settled on a striking combination of medium green and bronze, both in marine grade material. Dave and his team custom cut and installed the upholstery, and the final results were stunning. Fining a shop, getting quotes, doing research AND getting the work done without having to consult your financial adviser as if it is a major life decision is almost impossible. When I first called Gotcha Covered and spoke with Crystal I immediately understood that the shop wanted the work done correctly. That was the chief priority. Being that this shop was some 50+ miles away from me; Crystal wanted to be sure she could provide as much information as possible. She wanted me to know exactly what I should expect in no uncertain terms. She went so far as to text me pictures of the possible fabric choices available to me. Once the fabric was picked out and she gave me the quote, I damn near went into shock. I actually said "That's it?" Think about that people. The quote was so much lower than other shops I had been calling that I actually worked against myself by insinuating that she was not charging enough, but I digress. We then set an appointment for 8 o'clock today (6/27). I'll be damned, but do you know someone was there at ~7:50'ish and ready to begin. As a person accustom to showing up early for appointments it was a refreshing experience. Dave/David (sorry I forget) and Spencer were adamant about doing a good job. My hats off to them both. As a person who is a true believer of auto upkeep, I would be lying if I said I wasn't worried about how it would all turn out. When I got to see the finished product, it was better than expected. This from someone that is picky, bordering on slightly anal retentive about my car. Oh, and I forgot to add that I changed the original parameters of the project. Originally I was going to only get the headliner done (it was starting to sag). The freakish quote was so low and I was feeling so inspired that I decided to do the center console armrest as well. They didn't even flinch. They dded the work to the quote at a bargain price, and everything went smooth. It's nice to find a quality, no bullsh*t, service oriented organization still exists. I brought an old Fairfield leather office chair that I paid $25 at a second hand store. I knew the brand very well, so I knew its worth (try $1,500-$3,500 easily). I saw past the ripped seat, and I thought that it would be less expensive to have the seat re-leathered than to purchase a new chair in the same brand which is true in theory; however, the price of the leather panels were far beyond what I wanted to pay for a chair that I only wanted to place into my work office space, so I didn't want to invest a lot of money. Alex helped me search through fabric swatches and I found what I thought was unique and went with my theme of traditional elegance with a touch of interesting movements in that space. Viola! Mag's had what I was looking for, and Alex gave me price that was fair. He told me I could pay when I returned and I left with his word that he would call me in a couple of weeks. True to his word, Alex called me and I dropped in to pick up my baby. I was so pleasantly surprised and pleased when I saw the beautiful new seat cushion. Alex is simply a wonderful artist with a eye for perfection because he added a little more padding to provide the right depth the seat needed to the final sewing. I almost did not recognize the cushion if it weren't for the fabric. Alex and his genius hands made this seat cushion sparkle. I was also pleasantly surprised that they brought me the left over fabric, from my re-upholstery job. It is not too much, but it is enough for me to take right back to them, and order a few small accent pillows to match the daybed. (Which I plan to do soon.) They could have discarded the fabric or made pillows to sell in their shop, and I would never have known the difference. The honesty meant a lot to me. And speaking of fabric ... they have zillions of beautiful choices, in all price ranges. They were very patient with me and I am a person who does thorough research and takes her time, before I finally make a decision. I will admit a lot of places would have likely become annoyed or frustrated with me, for taking so much time and visiting the showroom to look through samples, over and over and over again, requesting pricing. But they were very kind and pleasant and willing to check pricing for me on many fabrics, many times. I also felt they charged a very fair price, especially considering the craftsmanship and turn around time and their willingness to do the pick up and drop off. The turn around time was so much faster than I expected. It was the holidays and I had to request they hold the daybed a few extra weeks for me, due to my extra traveling and holiday activities.
