This is a small family run business. Carl and his (late)wife runs this business. However, after his wife death, Carl is thinking about selling his business and retired. I have tried to tell him not to retired, because he is the most reliable, most honest mechanic that I have ever met. I have been going here for over 10 years, with all of my cars: BMW, Honda Accord,Honda Civic Hybrid, and Mazda CX-9, along with referring my own family members and friends to this place. I have gone to many independent garages over the year, but this one is special. Carl has never tried to rip me off and has taken the time to explain what he is going to do with my car. He had used mostly OEM or at least give the customer the option of using generic parts if they want them.
Customer Service: 4.5/5
His late wife used to work at the window, and Carl would be in the garage fixing the car. He would tell her how much to fix the car, and his wife would call the customer for affirmation. She would be more talkative to the customer, but Carl is a taciturn man, not talking much, more focusing on fixing the cars. Thus, after her recent death, his daughter would be at the window, always silent, and Carl would tell you how much to fix your car. His wife was a very nice lady, always very cheerful, and making small talks. I missed that lovely lady.
Cleanliness: 4.5/5
It is an old shop but very organized. Everything is at certain locations. They have two bathrooms but more for storage then usage.
Price: 4/5
The price is straight forward. This place is cheaper than the dealer but a little more than the other garages. Yes, it is a little bit more, but you are going to pay for better service.
Car Service: 4.5/5
Carl guaranty his work. He takes the time to fix it right. He ONLY fix what is broken and will tell you when to bring your car in for further workup. He kept a journal/car diary of his long time customers in his computer. (For example, my Honda Hybrid light goes up when my car odometer has 145,500 miles on it. Carl took a look at my car and told me that my Hybrid battery is shot. However, the battery is warranty for 150,000 miles and told me to take it to the dealer to replace it for free. He only charged me for the diagnosis. I took the car to the dealer and has my Hybrid battery replace: save me $5,000 grand). That is the honesty in the mechanic that I need. Both my Honda has over 200,000 miles on it thanks to this man. (The BMW was crashed and the Mazda is still going strong at 85,000 miles). I have so much faith in this man that I referred friends and family to his garage, and all have been impressed with his skills.
Overall: 4.5/5
No man's perfect, but this mechanic as close as one get. read more
