Everything was fine. About 10 days later, I had a bunch of error codes/messages flashing across my dashboard. So I called Dion and explained what was happening. He said to bring it in whenever I could, and he would take a look at it. I returned to Freeport Auto that afternoon and Dion was able to quickly identify and resolve the issue. He said it's possible that one of my sparks was going out, which caused the "Check Engine" code to flash. Dion said that error code more than likely triggered the other 5-6 error codes to flash. Dion was able to clear all the codes. His recommendation was for me to get a tune-up within 5 or 6 months. He said that even though I have very low mileage on my car, he recommended getting the tune-up. The spark plugs will be replaced at that time and I should not encounter that issue anymore. Such a relief! Thanks so much, Dion! I appreciate your calm demeanor and for quickly diagnosing and resolving my car issue and putting me at ease!

They were able to take a quick look under my hood and understand the issue right away. (I understand this isn't always the case but it shows that they are experts in the field and not trying to get over on people). Sergio, was able to accommodate services for me within a few days. Dropping off and picking up my car was seamless. Price points are decent. And as of now, my car is running well and the problem has been resolved.

On April 21, 2025, I took my car to Auto Stop because it was leaking oil. I had been using them for…read moreoil changes and had always been happy with that service, so I trusted them with this repair. They diagnosed the source of the oil leak, and because I have an extended warranty, I went through the warranty process and authorized the repair. Their labor rates exceeded what my warranty would cover, so I paid the difference out of pocket. Unfortunately, this is where my experience went downhill. After the repair, my car continued leaking oil for more than a year. I brought it back multiple times, and each visit resulted in another attempt to fix the problem, usually by adding more gaskets. It became clear that they were taking shortcuts rather than properly diagnosing and repairing the issue. At one point, I discovered they had even stuffed rags around the oil pan. After several unsuccessful repair attempts, Auto Stop finally admitted they could not fix the problem. To make matters worse, during the course of their repeated repair attempts, they damaged the upper oil pan. Their only recommendation at that point was to take the vehicle to the dealership. That's exactly what I had to do. The dealership corrected the original oil leak and repaired the additional damage caused during Auto Stop's failed repair attempts, leaving me to pay for work that could have been avoided. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Auto Stop. What should have been a straightforward repair turned into more than a year of frustration, repeated trips back to the shop, additional damage to my vehicle, and significant extra expense.

I called on a Saturday around noon to ask if I can do a walk in for a smog. They close at 2 pm on Saturdays and the gentleman who answered states they can take walk ins and there currently wasn't a long wait. So I headed over there about 30 minutes after the call. Parking space here is limited, so be prepared for that. When I got here, there were 2 customers ahead of me, one finishing up a smog check and another just had his car towed here for repairs. I was helped within 20 minutes after arriving and was here a total of about 40 minutes total for smog. Again, great and quick service. The waiting room isn't too bad. They have a huge tv you can watch as you wait, magazines and a few chairs you can rest at. There's also a huge window where you can see into the bay. There's also masullo pizza next door if you want to eat while you wait, but the technician might be done with your car before the food arrives. Pricing is average for getting car smogged, and they do take credit card. I'll continue to go here in the future.

I went in two days ago to get my truck smoged. Not only are cars made 1999 and older paying $30 more for their smog, the shop no longer supports a second try for those older cars. They state, "it takes too long." I told them I've been a loyal customer for a decade and I've never had this issue. It didn't matter. Their new policy is their new policy and that was final. Enjoy your $100 for a smog diagnostic. I'll never come back and I'd warn anyone not to come to this place. They are out to make a dollar and don't care about the customer.

There was absolutely no pressure or upselling, just straight-up documentation of what looked good, and what needed help. I came back the next day and got valve covers and timing belt replaced. Word to the wise: There's a waiting area and restaurants nearby, but the shop is so busy if you are in a hurry you don't wait for them to call. I dropped off my car at 8:30, but there was already two other folks in the shop's dual bays. They said it might take half an hour to take care of the other clients and then 2.5 - 3 hours to take care of business. I waited at the Starbucks across the way and showed up a little after 12... and the car was ready to go! I could've shown up earlier but Dom hadn't had a chance to call me. I appreciate Green Rider's speed, efficiency, clarity, and fair pricing. Thank you!!

When we went to pick up the car the dude was EXTREMLY UNPROFESSIONAL, treated us like we were stupid bc we were asking questions abt WHAT was fixed and WHY, which we have the right to bc i want to know why am i paying 1000$ in cash????? I came to pick up the car and obviously i asked questions (since there were so many ADDITIONAL costs) and he had the audacity to get mad at ME for asking questions ???? He was like "ur not understanding" "i can tell u dont understand cars" like obviously ?????? If i did know cars I WOULDNT BE HERE I WOULD FIX IT MYSELF?? The entire time he kept getting mad that we were asking very valid questions - very unprofessional I wouldnt go back just based on how rude he was to me. Second of all, we came only for the AC being fixed, and he charged over $1000 LOL. He kept adding on random things like cleaning leaves on the front hood ???? Changed the cabin filter, radiator cap?? The diagnostic was supposed to be free, but then he charged $300 for it. It was a whole mess and i dont have clarity bc when i asked questions he would get really agitated and upset. When he did the walkthrough of the car he also said he wouldnt charge for the radiator cap or the valve - but he charged for it on the receipt! So then i asked why did you JUST say it was free then now youre charging me for it?? And he got upset and started saying something about he gave us a discount on the labor! The labor shouldve cost much more etc etc.....idk i was over it. It was a whole thing. FINALLY when it came time to pay, he said cash, check or zelle only. I said we only had card and said his credit card machine has been broken for months......if u wanted to commit tax fraud you can just say that and be honest. We also asked about the warranty. He originally said 1year. Then in the span of 30secs it went down from oh labor is 1yr, the parts only have 6month warranty. THEN the paper only says 90days so by that point i was like okay whatever - we'll just literally never come back. He's just making stuff up and lying as we speak. Worst shop ive been to ever. I explained the reason why we had so many questions was bc we came in for one thing, and bam theres now so many random things hes charging for? I told him every other (reputable) shop gives an estimate and if they find something wrong later, they ALWAYS call, explain it to me, tell me the new estimate and ask if its okay. They never ever fix it without saying anything. I couldve done the coolant and filter and cleaned the leaves myself!
