I was hesitant to write this review but after speaking to the owner (Sam) about my complaints and concerns, I had no other choice. On December 16th. of 2020 I took my Nissan Maximum to Sam for a crank no start. He stated that due to the fact that he was over-whelmed he would have to look in to it during the week. The next day he called and informed me that they were going to replace the battery and put a new alternator in. I was told that the parts and labor would come up to around $700. At that time I thought $700 was a little too much, but I didn't want to go through the hassle of getting another tow truck and finding someone else to do the job. I agree to the price and he said that when the car was fixed he would give me a call. Friday, 12/18/2020 I received a call from Sam informing me that he had put a new alternator and battery in but the car would not start. He stated that whoever was trying to turn the car on before burnt out the starter and the car would need a new one (around $285). I told him to put the stater in and he said that it would be completed of Monday 12/21/2020. On that Monday around 2 pm. Sam called me and said that the starter was installed but the car would not turn-over. He told me that I can come pick up the car because he did not know what was wrong with it and that it would cost a lot of money on my part, for him to do diagnostics. I asked did you not do diagnostics before putting in a new alternator, battery and starter? He stated that he did but I may have an electrical problem. I told him to do what he had to do to get the started. 2 weeks later on 1/4/2021, I get a call from Sam stating that he done all that he can do, but the car will not start. He said my best bet was to take it to Nissan because 99.9% of the time it's a computer lock out and Nissan was the only ones that can re-program it. After hearing all of this, I asked him "Why did you put a alternator, starter and battery in if a computer lock out was the problem"? He stated that called me and got my permission for those installations. At that moment he made it clear that he was holding my car hostage until I paid him. He said that he would not charge me for all the hours that it took him to diagnose the problem, but I would have to come pick up the car a.s.a.p because he needed the room for other customers. When I asked to get the old parts back and he told me that they were gone, I knew I been had. The next day 1/5/2021, Master Tech Auto of Kissimmee fl. sent a tow truck to pick up the car. I met with the head mechanic David and he explained that I had indeed been ripped off for $1200. Within 25 Minutes they were ordering a Crank Sensor from Auto Zone for less than $30. The car was up and less than an hour. This review is for the people who are thinking about using the auto clinic in St.cloud fl. My next stop will be the BBB. read more
