Another mechanic replaced the main belt and that might have helped a little - it was 10 years old, so likely needed replacing anyway. I didn't want to take it to a Chevy dealer because of bad past experience. I thought I would try this mobile car repair since it's convenient with good Google reviews. The mechanic said he heard the noise but the car had no codes and when we drove around with his machine plugged in, there were no issues. He recommended a tune up to see if that would help and found a small oil leak that needed to be fixed - $750 for a 2015 Corvette, seemed reasonable especially for the convenience. He couldn't fix it that day because parts needed to be ordered. They charge a visit fee that's deducted from the repair cost if you complete the service - reasonable. The mechanic came back and did the tune up and oil leak fix. This took 3 or 4 hours and I checked on him a few times. Each time he was on the phone helping another mechanic that needed guidance. Again, no problem. I would rather have a mechanic that helps others and not the ones that need help. We drove around after service and the noise is still there. No codes or warnings on the machine. Problem: within a week of service I drove the car for the first time myself. About two miles from the house at a speed of 55ish I felt the car hesitate slightly. I thought maybe something from the oil leak repair that would go away so I kept going. My husband was an hour away towards the coast. As I drove on the highway the hesitation became more frequent, like every five minutes. My car has 180K miles on it, so I notice when something is off. After maybe 30 minutes it had a short (maybe 1-2 seconds) of a feeling like it was going over gravel, but I was on the highway. This became intermittent and longer periods as we were driving home. When I was close to home and just getting off the highway, the check engine light comes on. I had called the mechanic and he said he would come back. We didn't drive the car at all after returning home that day. The mechanic came back and found that a wire had "jumped out" of one of the spark plugs - not cool. He fixed it for free, cleared the code, and checked the car after driving further from the house with the machine plugged in. This could have really damaged my car and was definitely a mistake from the mechanic. All I got was an apology and no partial refund for my trouble. I would not use this company again. I'm giving three stars because I think this mechanic was good but made a mistake because he was fixing my car while he was on the phone helping other mechanics.

The closest tire shop was Discount Tire, so I stopped in hoping they could help. Unfortunately, they didn't have the tire I needed in stock, but Jacob still went above and beyond. He had my spare tire installed so I could safely get back on the road and even told me to call if I needed anything else. Jacob was professional, friendly, and genuinely helpful. That level of customer service really made my day. I don't know what the cost of a replacement tire would have been at Discount Tire, but if they had the tire I needed, I absolutely would have purchased it from them. After calling my wife I was ready to leave, but the manager stepped in asking if he could do something. Asked me my budget and what I was looking for. Him and his assistant gave me new pricing based on my budget. The tire they offered was called Arizonan, a tire made by Cooper Tires. I later read this is a tire made for Discount Tire. This explains why they were able to give me special pricing...they control the pricing on their tires. If this budget friendly tire is good and I get all 65,000 miles my car odometer will be over 250,000 miles. I am giving 4 stars because the local Discount Tire was very friendly and showed a willingness to help. Their speed of service was amazing. From the time I arrived to the time I drove off with new tires was a little over an hour. Tires are way too high right now. It just seemed to easy to drop the price and give me a budget friendly tire. I doubt they could have done that with a bigger national brand.
