I regret that I have to take my stars back, because I'm no longer happy. I spent almost eight grand…read moreon that Dodge Journey, and it didn't last me two years. I overlooked a few things...like wrappers under the seats and a note to 'Alison' I found in a trunk compartment...not as clean as I thought. But mechanical issues started coming up. Buying used vehicles often comes with those, but they never seemed to end. The rims needed fixing because the tires kept going flat, the keyfob stopped working, stuff like that. THEN I go to get my oil changed and my mechanic discovers that the plug for my oil pan was held in with caulking. Shortly after that, I started having serious transmission problems. I couldn't get the Journey over 70 kms. Sometimes it just wouldn't start. It would eventually, but there was a gauntlet of things to do and check first. Sometimes it took three tries, sometimes it took ten minutes. I bought the Journey in September of 2019, and I just parked it permanently in July 2021. I'm mad at myself for not reading the Carfax. They gave me one without me having to ask, so I didn't worry about it. I took it in good faith. My bad. I had been happy with the service, but I'll never go back. Their mechanic SUCKS.

She also sold me a warranty that should have covered the cost but NO! She took that extra cash for the policy and put it in her pocket. "Oh I can take the car back and sell it at auction for you" she said. And get less that what I paid for it? No way. She won't help with the cost to fix it. I DO NOT recommend this place at all! I've been dealing with BMO on behalf of my recently deceased Aunt…read more She always went to the Westmount branch which I thought was wonderful. Everybody knew her and was great to her. Since I only had to make a small deposit into her new estate account, I decided to walk to this branch as it is so close to my house near Whyte ave. I was not greeted by anyone. There is NO teller window. You have to stand there like an idiot until someone emerges from their office and asks why you are there. They would not accept the deposit without the account information. I asked if they could just look it up. "No". I went home. I phoned the Westmount branch and my aunt's personal banker told me they absolutely could look up that information. I returned to the branch, this time with the account info. I asked if I could deposit some cheques. "Is it a personal cheque?" : o : o :o What difference does that make? I replied no. They are company cheques for my aunt's estate account. She struggled with the deposit. She asked her leader 2x to help. Finally the deposit was made. Very large Hassel for a tiny transaction. They are wearing masks which I appreciate. They were very nice to the schizophrenic causing a disturbance during my first visit. There is now a security guard pacing around inside and out. At least I think he's a guard. He talks to himself as well. I recently became a BMO member myself because my aunty's banker said I could earn $350 just for signing up. Why not? I just wish the Westmount branch was in my neighbourhood. Hopefully I can do everything online from now on.

The first couple time I went to deposit the cheque there was a hold for 5 business days. Understandable as it was a new job. Now 4 months later, they are still holding my cheques even though they have successfully gone through every time. I went down the road to ATB and got my cheque deposited with no questions asked and not even being a customer. I think it is safe to say that I will be changing banks as Scotiabank whyte ave has mad me feel unheard and unwelcome.

I certainly need to update my review of Scotiabank! I'm a fan. Oh yes, I am. So, the…read moredisappointments felt in my first review (note: reviewed 7 months ago) were registered online by the scotiabank twitter account. Ever since that, I've noticed a lot of positive changes. Firstly, a lot of the staff that were on training have finally finished training. The man, the dude who floats around this small branch (sorry, don't know his name) is the knower of all things and is quick to respond to any request/help that another teller might have. Having said that, the tellers have also become incredibly knowledgeable and friendly over the last six months and coming here has been a smooth and relaxing deal. It surely feels like a community bank in a small town because the staff don't change, they recognize you and it's all very homely. One of the main reasons for a pull up to 5 stars is that when I went down to open a TFSA, the personal banking officer Chris, was so kind to take down my email address and get in touch with me with reminders of the paperwork I had to bring in for our next appointment etc. I also wanted to open the account after a couple of months and he informed me that he would call me as a reminder when the time came... and sure enough, he stuck to his word. This kind of service is something I'm not entirely used to (maybe it's a Canadian thing, I don't know?). They've surpassed all my expectations and I'm sure to stick with them. Oh and also, their new mobile app is pretty good and the new website is really functional!
