Not sure if it's bad training, lack of communication or faulty equipment, but two visits was plenty enough.
It involved Western Union, and having to send emergency funds to a friend in the US, and Western Union online wouldn't accept my credit card.
So nine a.m. I'm sitting by the door, waiting for them to open because I need to send that money ASAP. The guy serving me was nice enough I suppose, even though he asked me the same questions over and over again. I gave him my address four times.
It almost doesn't go through, and he wants to call his boss. Am I in a hurry? Um, unfortunately, yes. My friend needs the money, and i have to be at work in less than an hour, and I'm busing. What's the problem? My email wasn't accepted, because it was already being used for my online Western Union profile that was useless to me. So I just gave him my other email address. Problem solved without needing to call the boss.
Too bad the printer wasn't working right. He doesn't know what's wrong with it, but it's not printing the whole thing.. But I have to GO. Can I get a partial? Can you email me the rest? Okay, good.
Next visit was because I needed to send more money to the same friend. I figured it would go faster this time, because they had me on file. The girls seemed nice enough, but I spent twenty minutes in line listening to irate customers who just learned about the 'new policy' of needing a bank statement to borrow money. Maybe they could have posted something about that? Instead of springing it on people who come there when they're already broke and stressed out?
It's my turn, and I ask to send money. She tells me they only use the one computer for that, and she has to turn it on and warm it up. So she sits me at that desk, and serves someone else. Luckily, I didn't have to wait long. But THEN she tells me she can't do it. She's locked out of the computer, and only her boss has the password. He won't be in for awhile.
Now I'm irritated as hell for these guys wasting my time, and I just want to get the freakin' money sent. My God, I'm glad I didn't need them to LEND me money. I took a short walk east down Stony Plain Road to Cash Money. I was in and out of THERE in about five minutes. Wish I'd gone to them first. read more
