They tracked down an electrical problem that turned out to be a loose wire in the wiring harness from a previous engine installation, got everything repaired, and made sure she was actually running right. What impressed me most was that they didn't just fix it and push it out the door. They kept her, drove her, put miles on her, and made sure I wasn't going to end up stranded somewhere after I left. That kind of care and responsibility means a LOT to me. They communicated with us, kept digging until they found the real problem, and treated my Jeep like it mattered. Dream Chasin' is more than just a vehicle to me, and I'm grateful I found people who understood that. If you need a shop that will actually troubleshoot the problem instead of just throwing parts at it, give DFW Classic a chance. Thank you for getting my girl back on the road!

I exited the freeway and pulled into a random parking lot checking them out. They looked fine but I was unsure. I looked across the street and I saw Red Oak Auto Repair and I pulled in right after they opened and I explained what was going on and they checked every tire, offered me some water and coffee, and they got me together. Confirmed that it was a censor that was malfunctioning but still give me a little more air than what was required just in case there was leak or something since I was driving far. They were so kind. They didn't have to do any of that, especially since I didn't spend any money there. if you are in that area, i 100% recommend them.

Finding a new auto repair place can bring on some anxiety. Fortunately our needed repair was…read moresupposed to be minor, but every time that check engine light comes on in a 20 year old Dodge Ram 1500, you just never know. Red Oak Auto Repair Center is a beautiful new limestone and red brick building on Ovilla Road near where we live in Glenn Heights. They've been open a few months and we decided to drop by and present our truck's problem. We had been told that the EGR valve and gasket needed replaced and our usual oil change and simple repairs place would be unable to do it. We were greeted immediately by a friendly young man who introduced himself as Mo. Mo listened, understood what another place had to say about the issue and offered to do a free diagnostic while we waited. I have to say that the waiting area is more like a living room than your standard waiting area. There are two distinct areas. One side has a coffee bar with snacks and a refrigerator with drinks and water. The unisex restroom is on that side in the corner. There's a four kettle chair seating group with a table, rug and a wall TV. Across the room is a comfy long couch and two chair set with tables, large area rug and a wall TV. The light green walls were a wonderful change from automotive or industrial design and there was lots of natural light. Just a lovely airy welcoming room. We had showed up somewhere around closing time not knowing really that they would start on the repair. They choose to and in the end, we waited until they closed. They had to go buy a part and on the Ram 2006, the part was very difficult to get to and then get out, as it was rusted in place. Mo kept us aware of everything as it developed and offered to drive us home and bring the truck to us after the repair was done in the morning. We lived but a few miles away. The repair with tax, labor and parts was $324.75. They worked hard on this repair. This truck has never been housed in a garage. Dodge Rams live long but this is the second engine. It's been awhile since we have had a repair other than A/C or a turn signal. Given what Red Oak Auto Repair did for us and the great rapport we established, I can say we'll definitely be back!

He recommended…read morethem as he is retiring and I needed someone competent to work on my 1969 Double COPO Camaro Berger Tribute. I spec'd this car out, had it custom built and bought most of the parts direct from two sources that provide high quality parts that are either NOS or OEM quality. I furnished over $60,000 in parts. So with the background, back to House of Hotrods. I called to see about having the heater box and all contents replaced. I have all the correct parts, not cheap, bought from the two sources above in the last year. This includes a brass and copper heater core and all gaskets and new mounting clips and rubber. I spoke with Beth, who explained they will do NO WORK with customer furnished parts. They are unknown quality, or something to that effect, is what she told me. She was going to have her boss call me. To date no one has called me. I am unclear if that is the owner or the shop foreman. My car is a nut and bolt full restoration. It was built to my specifications, is a life long dream come to life, and I don't just put cheap parts in it. I am attaching photos so all can see. So here is my take on this business, having gone through having the car built, sorting out all of the gremlins that the builder did not address in the build and getting it to where I can drive it anytime I want in warm weather. So what this business is saying, in MY OPINION, is that they want to control purchasing and installing parts from THEIR vendors, who I don 't know, add their mark up to the unknown quality (unknown to me) part, and install it. Anyone who does a full restoration on a classic car does it as a labor of love. A car they have dreamed about for years, literally. These people may do good work, I never got the chance to find out. But they fall short in customer service, keeping a simple promise to return a call, and not even looking at what parts I am supplying. I promise they are NOT cheap. Why do you want to let any vendor take your right to determine what parts you want installed? They get paid for labor, and not the standard shop rate, it is much higher than that. I accept that, am willing to pay it. The car in the pictures should be proof of that. I have never gotten a warranty in any of the work done on my Camaro. Nor do I expect one, including this repair. I simply want quality work and to have heat in the coming winter. I am going to reference this experience to any one I talk to. Everyone who wants to know about restoration process and who I DON'T recommend. I don't recommend House of Hotrods. Find a builder who will build your car the way you want it. With the parts you want to use. After all it is YOUR car.
