It's not your typical sterile salon with tile floors and bad hair and nail posters from the 80's. The salon specializes in Black hair (relaxed and natural), but I'm sure they can handle all hair types. They also provide spa services like waxing and mani/pedis...no more wasting time driving all over town for your beauty treatments. Pros: - Super comfy nail trim salon chairs, including the washing chairs (I've never sat in one so comfortable...definitely not your standard issue hair shop chair) - One stop shopping. Hair, waxing, and nails all in one place! - Payment options: cash and all major credit cards through the Square payment system which means your receipts can be emailed to you if you're tracking your expenses. - Nail bar. I haven't gotten my nails done here...yet, but that nail bar makes me want to come back just for a mani. It also looks as if they have a paraffin set up too. There's a good variety of polish brands and colors, and I think I spotted some gel polishes (can anyway say 2-week mani? LOVE IT!) - Product sales. They have Design Essentials on display, and you can only get them at salons. Very good products for relaxed hair...maybe natural too, but I don't know for sure. - Clean, clean, clean, CLEAN! Cons: My only con is that the shop is at the back of the building and there isn't a ton of parking right outside of the shop. However, this really isn't a problem because there's ample parking in the shopping center. Even if you park in the spot farthest away from the shop you're still closer than any spot you'd find at the mall or Target. I just needed a con so this was a more balanced review...but honestly, who cares? I'd probably park outside of the jewelry store anyway so I could swing by there on my way from my beauty transformation to see if any eligible bachelors might be waiting around to buy jewelry for beautiful women, but I digress. There is also a television (maybe soon to be an additional 1 or 2) added. I don't necessary find this to be a pro or a con, just something of note to mention. I see Patrice when I come and she works magic with relaxers and wax. I haven't had natural hair since I was about 10, but the stylists in this shop make me seriously consider going natural. Their own locks and twists are beautiful, and their customers look great! As I said, I haven't gotten my nails done here yet, but it's on the to do list. I cried for 2 weeks straight! And being black hair does not grow fast for us, 5 years gone in 2 minutes. Thing is i trusted her with my all and was so very hurt and let down. There was no remorse. To make it even worse I was stood up with twice on 2 separate appointments. And one was for a very special day my graduation!!! I ended up with no style!! I was so devastated i didn't eat for a week. My photos came out ruined so very ugly I couldnt even buy them. This is a day you just cant get back you know. Im still trying to forgive her for ruining this for me. Then i was charged extra for a haircut i never asked for. I was told a trim to get rid of heat damage. This has ruined my whole outlook on this salon and this stylist. I will never ever go back here ever. Not only did this ruin my hair but it really messed with my self-esteem. My hair is so short now and so uneven i cant even get a pony tail. I still cry about that and June will be a year. At this point my hair trusting days are over I dont trust anyone on my hair at all anymore. Please be careful going here, dont end up like i did almost bald and chopped up like edward scissor hands and devisatated with no remorse for the F up she done. The employees are all so friendly, the place smells amazing - no chemical smell (which true Aveda products don't have), and it's a relaxing place. Upon entering, you are immediately offered water or tea. I have always gone to an Aveda salon, but was so tired of having the prices go up each time I saw my stylist or colorist. New customer's get deals, but loyal customers just get higher prices. After years of going to the above mentioned Aveda salon, I have since found out that the reason for their chemical odor is because they use Redken coloring products, NOT Aveda. No sticker shock at Princeton Salon. When i first went, i are 'locked in' to the original price I paid for my cuts and color. Since Gage is a master stylist, his prices are on par with the other master stylists - there is not an extra charge for him. We hit it off immediately, so I always have a good time while I'm there. Since I have such thick hair, he always books a long time to hi-light my hair, which is only shoulder length. I am so anal about my 'light blonde' (gray) showing around my face, that he paints a hi-lighter on before he even gets started with the strands. The few times I've felt I could still see gray, he graciously re-did the portions I was concerned about. In retrospect, it's only hair, but I examine it like I'm looking under a microscope, and Gage has never once been anything but gracious and making me feel good - he wants his clients to be happy with their cuts and color. I have also used Nicole for hair-cuts, as well as Syenna for color and a cut - both ladies are as awesome as Gage. You absolutely cannot go wrong with anyone in this salon.

In a roundabout way, that's what I did! Years ago I was the teacher of the eldest granddaughter of The Artisan Gathering's owner! That child's hair was ALWAYS flawless. Now I know why! From the moment I entered the door and was warmly greeted by the owner, I felt as though I had been a client forever. I sat and chatted with Mary as if we were old friends...and the new location's homey atmosphere reinforced the feeling of coziness. LeAnne cut my hair PERFECTLY after a thorough pre-cut consultation, and she, too, made me feel "at home." I had been driving to Buckhead to an extremely talented hairdresser for my cuts, but I will now be an Artisan Gathering client! I am so thankful I discovered the salon.

I was 30 minutes late because of holiday traffic and a minor fender bender but they were understanding and nice. Liz did my hair. It was a last minute appointment too, (I scheduled it at 7am and the appt was 1:30) which was great for a saturday. She listened to everything I had to say and understood my concerns. She took the time to get to know my hair and the way it behaves. I sent her pictures the night before of Emma Stone when she had curly blonde hair and I got exactly what I wanted. She did a great job. And the products they use are amazing. This was 2 days ago and my hair still smells great. It was like hanging out with my mom. Time flew by! The salon itself is beautiful and they have drinks and stuff up front as well as a nice bathroom. I don't typically go back to the same salon but I definitely will be coming back. It was a great experience and I didn't feel like my questions were annoying or too much.
