Just moved out to Gilroy! I'm used to going to the MH location and my first time trying this location this morning. I normally get the spray Catalina level 3 but unfortunately they were out. The other color available was the Monterey, which they happened to be out of as well. The only other option was the "clear". I like it because it's a little more gradual of a transition vs. the Catalina but I definitely would rather be a lot darker. Hopefully they get more in soon. Although they were out of the product the employees were super kind and helpful. I would definitely recommend the clear for someone who wants something a little more subtle or for in between sprays, for like a touch up. read more

I purchased a package of 6 tans in the accelerated tanning bed. My first session went horribly as the bed kept shutting off and the maximum amount of time in it was 10 minutes. I had to get up, get dressed and find the only employee working at the time who just turned the bed back on. It happened twice, I got out twice and in the third time it shut off early I gave up and left. I wasn't offered anything for the inconvenience and a free session would have been the norm at any other place. I called when I got home to speak to a manager but they weren't available and never received a call back. I didn't go back although I had 5 tans left on the high powered bed as I was annoyed at the faulty bed and lack of any concern or customer service. * side note: it was a solid 30 minute drive each way from my home at the time* I recently moved closer to the location and called to enquirer about my 5 tans remaining. I was told by the woman answering the phone that they are no longer valid after 1 years time. I purchased them in 2017. I never signed anything that stated they had an expiry date nor was I told they expired. As you know this place is far from cheap. I feel totally ripped off and the person I spoke to couldn't have cared less. The place is nice...I do question the equipment and I'm not a fan of their customer service as there is NONE. Be cautious before buying packages here, ask questions. I wasn't told nor did I sign anything regarding the expiry date of my purchase. read more

I absolutely love this place! It's clean and friendly atmosphere makes it a great place to tan. I have to say that Haleigh has done an amazing job with this facility. I have really enjoyed getting to know her and I'm gonna hate to see her go because she is always early to work, making me on time. The beds and rooms are spotless, and she always has great suggestions for tanning products because she listens to what her clients needs are. I wanted to give a shoutout to 2 amazing people who work at the Gilroy location and those 2 special ladies are "Sam & Dasia"! I had stopped tanning for about 8yrs signed back up about 6/7 months ago. My interactions with both Sam and Dasia has been nothing but exceptional customer service. I wish every business that I frequent most all had employees such as these 2 ladies. They are always polite, respectful, and have gone above and beyond not only for myself but I have witnessed them both doing to same for other customers. I am amazed at how they both handle and deal with rude customers, who have yelled at them for an issue that is out of their control. They remain professionals and other people who work in a customer service job could learn a lot from watching these 2 ladies! They both brighten my day when I walk in and see one of them working that day! read more

Update: just wanted to also add that the customer service team is fantastic. They are easy to interact with and always accommodating and willing to help. I've been with Australian for years now and I've got to tan at multiple locations and Gilroy is one of my top fav. I recently sprayed (level 3 monterey is the best!) and had a really good experience with Natalie. She was super knowledgeable about the products and helped guide me to the right spray level/bronzer for what I wanted to achieve. The other girl seemed nice too and gave some of her personal input which made me trust them a little more. Natalie was seriously one of the nicest tanning professionals I've had at Australian. Some of the other girls at other locations have bad attitudes and are very unprofessional. They made me feel welcomed and not judged for asking questions. read more

Horrible first impression. I walked in to an eye roll from the front desk. Young girl needs some real life customer service training. She was so rude when I asked how much for a couple sessions. She told me " it's too expensive " and you can't get a base tan in three sessions! Excuse me little girl I make six figures and I was asking the price not your opinion! This place drives me crazy. I used to tan there often several years ago but stopped going for health reasons. Also, I always felt so pressured into signing up for a membership. I tried again last year before a vacation and it was the same thing. The employee seemed completely bothered with me that I didn't want to sign up for a membership. It was literally like she was pissed. So, I'm going on vacation again and I decided to give it another chance..so I called to try and get some info before I go in. How many tans do I need to get a nice base, pricing etc? The conversation goes: Me: hi, I'm going on vacation and I'd like to tan a couple of times before. I was wondering what you suggest to get a nice base tan and how much it would be? Employee: well you should just do a membership if you want a base tan Me: I don't want a membership I just want to tan maybe twice Her: oh, well it's $35 each time Me: is that for any bed? Her(annoyed time): yes, any bed. I can explain it better in person I don't understand how this employee suggests a membership when I'm specifically explaining I want to tan for an upcoming vacation...does she think it's 6 months away? Is there no way to get a nice tan unless you go several times a month? And, why not at least ask some questions first. Also, why can't she explain it over the phone? Non of it makes sense.. I'm in the restaurant business and this type of salesmanship is exactly what I teach employees not to do I won't go back...guess I'll be driving to San Jose to tan read more

She was very knowledged in the packages they had to offer and products to enhance the tanning. She was very thorough in explaining what I had purchased as well as the other locations available, cancellation and temp hold procedures. If the employees spent less time on their phone, gossiping and taking "selfies" and actually doing something work related the rooms and beds would be much cleaner. And I live right next to the Morgan hill shop ,have been there many many times. I've spent $1000s on Australian tan .most they took out of Bank account after I canceled my membership. So lots of neg. I'm confused as to why some people are saying this is the most expensive tanning place ever...Ive been with Australian tan since 2007...I've tried other places but never get any results I always come out with a rash or there's always something wrong with the dingy beds they've got. Literally when I lived in Fremont I had to drive to San Jose/Campbell and Sunnyvale Australian Tan every time I wanted to tan. The prices are more than fair and their beds are the best of the best. My husband and i just moved to Gilroy and I was so happy when I saw an Australian tan right by my house...I usually put my account on hold during the winter and pay $5 a month and when I come back to tan all that money is saved in an account and I can use it towards a lotion! Pretty awesome...never had an issue canceling or putting it on hold, yes it's snail mail but send it when you're supposed to and you're good! read more

Well first of all they wouldn't accept the yelp deal unless I used it on lotions (total Rip off ) Second, I wanted a quick tan so I was looking at the fastest or instant beds. They wanted $60 + for one time use. Third, I looked into spray tans. $35 for two tans. It's a machine not a person so no matter what they say your going to have a streak some where ( or at least I have) Iv spray tanned multiple times and still never get it perfect. It is a very beautiful building, customer service was pretty good although I think they were trying to up sell and charge more then it should ever cost hoping I'd fall for it which I did not! Oh and for a monthly membership they want a $200 cancelation fee. I will give it another try but want a quick tan ( not spray ) and to not feel like I'm being pulled into the biggest rip off ever. read more

Great place. Very clean, and I found a coupon both on their site and one on yelp (the yelp one of which I ended up using). Bonus was that the lady at the desk gave me a one week for free card for new clients, which was ideal for a friend. I used the first bed by the front door and it is supposed to be more of a golden color and it certainly is. I didn't burn at all and after two visits I have a really great tan. Nice to have a place with good bulbs and can get you in and out pretty fast. And nice to have a really nice color tan too! read more

They stock the very best in lotions, moisturizers and tan extenders and always have some great deal available. I was very disappointed with the service. Went in to go get some info, having read the reviews I knew more or less what to expect! I did not want a membership because I wanted to get a tan for a function at the end of April which gave me a month and a half to get one! So I told the girl that I wanted to do it for a month and half and I did not want a membership because I did not want my credit card info filed with them. She said I could do the $150 for 6 session but still needed my credit card info for the $40 cancellation fee! I told her I would be paying cash and why would I have to pay a cancellation fee if I'm not going to sign up for a membership if I'm only doing it for 1.5 months! Made no sense, then I remembered the other reviews of how difficult it was to cancel with them and that some folks still kept getting charges! I just wanted to do a "pay as you go" I was told these girls get payed extra based on the sign ups they get, so she ended up loosing me and $150 all together! Pathetic read more
