I called about a garage door that was hanging up when closing and I thought it would soon break. I…read morewas afraid of having it be open for a day or two before it could be repaired. Roberto showed about an hour after I called at 7:30 pm. He ran the door up and down about 3 times and then said he knew the problem. I had stored a shovel in a small nook near the side of the door and it had fallen to one side so that the top of the handle was just close enough for the roller to hit it on the way down. Roberto was so nice about it having been a dumb move by me. He proceeded to check the entire door and lubricated everything. He shook my hand and told me to call him with any problems that may arise. I asked what I owed him for a service call and he said he would never charge when there was no problem. He told me what to lubricate once a year and wished me well and was on his way. Wow! I'm still stunned by his kindness. There is no question about who I will call when I inevitably need service to my garage door. Thank you, Roberto!

In addition to getting the door working again, he does preventive maintenance on the doors to reduce the chance that we will have more problems. There's a reason he has all 5 star ratings- he really provides quality, timely service.

First off, communication (email & phone) with Dan (owner), Jason, and Miguel was on point! For both…read morevisits, they called at least 30 minutes in advance to let me know of their ETA. I'd submitted my email to get their online coupons. Pricing was very good and didn't waiver (no upsell, no hidden charges, etc). And the service provided was just what we wanted/needed. We'd been having an intermittent issue with the door stopping a foot or two short. This type of issue can be hard to diagnose sometimes when the issue isn't obvious. I had several back-n-forth emails with Dan (owner) wherein he gave me various instructions on things to check/tweak in case I was able to fix it myself. I'd let him know that I'd replaced the motor etc myself awhile back and that I could likely handle a few basic tasks. I think most garage door repair companies would simply want to send a technician out. It's a business after all. And among other things, businesses exist to make money. So I was pleasantly surprised when he kept trying to solve my problem without having to send anyone out ... and without billing us. In the end, I did ask that they send someone out after I'd exhausted my abilities. During their first visit, Miguel and his brother performed a tune up, checked and adjusted the belt tension, installed new ball bearing rollers as ours were really old, installed the new sensors that I had sitting on a shelf that'd come with the new motor, and lubricated everything. The door stopped again (just once) several days later. So I asked that they come back over. Miguel came by himself this second visit and checked everything out and determined that the problem is likely due to a bent panel section on the door that's flexing a little. We were given a suggested fix but it's just not worth spending the money on at this time. Of course, no charge for this follow up visit. I also ended up having a thorough conversation with Miguel regarding the garage door industry -- specifically the ethics more or less with some companies. We talked about how some companies may overcharge, some may take advantage of folks who just don't know better, some may perform unnecessary services ... all to get a bigger payday. He spoke VERY highly of his employer (Dan) and the team with whom he works. He came across as being proud to be working for an upstanding company that can help people without taking advantage of them. It's nice (and too rare) to hear someone speak so highly of their job, etc.

This company was great right from the start. Called and got a real person who had a team in my area…read moreto fix my garage door which had a broken spring. They sent a text when they were 15 minutes out and came within a couple hours. The two guys were younger but knowledgeable and let me know I needed a conversion kit. He got a quote from their office right then and there and told me they'd be back later that day. A couple hours later, 2 other guys showed up (also texting to let me know they were inbound) and got me hooked up in what seemed like 30 minutes. I had a bunch of questions about the new setup and maintenance and they had answers for everything. Everyone I interacted with was professional and now I'm clear on the garage door for another decade.

My remote garage door openers were no longer working with the receiver, so I've been asking my kids…read moreto manually close the door and then jump like a gazelle as they passed the garage door, so they wouldn't trip the safety cameras. Although it was cute to me, it got old really quick with my kids. I figured it was time to get a professional involved. I chose The Up and Up Garage Doors company because it was relatively close to where I live (I learned pretty quickly that some companies don't serve my area, so I wanted to make sure I wouldn't be disappointed if they didn't served my area). The company had a decent number of reviewers, which I feel makes the 5 star reviews seem legit. Surprisingly, I was able to book a consultation the same day. Neil was able to diagnose the problem relatively quickly and explained the parts that I would definitely need (like a new receiver), parts that I would not need (like the spring) and parts that would be nice to have (like the rolling wheels along the rail). He was very transparent about the price of the parts and labor as well as time it would take to pick up the parts and complete the job. TBH, the garage door system he recommended seemed gimmicky, but I decided to go with it anyway because he had me at " it's one of the quietest systems." He was able to install the very same day and was very patient helping me set up the remote garage door openers and iPhone app, which turns out has a feature that floored me, which was basically the ability to check if my garage door was closed or not after I left! The amount of time I imagined I would save by not having to turn the car around to double check is priceless! The overall time it took from looking at the company, setting up an appointment, Neil having to pick up the system from the company, drive back and install was literally less than three hours. I also thought the price was very reasonable for having such a quality product and super awesome experience. I would 10 out 10 definitely recommend this company to anyone who is looking to upgrade their garage system or just need any repairs in general.

I even upgraded to a two spring system for better durability and support, all for a great price and excellent warranty on parts and labor. He worked quickly to install the new springs, tune up my hinges, make sure the garage door opener was calibrated just right, and get my garage door back up in working order and better than ever! Would definitely use Neil again in the future!
