What an amazing program! The lunchtime group with coach Sam was so inviting and friendly. I never thought I'd enjoy a swimming workout as much as I did with T3. Would highly recommend anyone at any swim level to give it a try!

I can't say enough good things about T3. Where do I even begin? T3 is basically a triathlon…read moretraining group, but it is so much more than that. They are hard core about getting you to a level you never knew existed, yet fun loving and very team spirited at the same time. The coaches are awesome and I feel like I have gained so much from training with them. If you are just a beginner at triathlons or an experienced triathlete, this is a group that embraces people of all levels and goals. There are people of all ages and ranges that train for the sprint, olympic, half ironman, and ironman distances. I started back in April of 2008, with their swim clinic. Yea, I could swim..maybe doggie paddle swim a couple 50 meters or so, but I REALLY didn't know HOW to swim. They taught me how to do it efficiently, with proper technique. 1 year ago I couldn't swim one length of Barton Springs without freaking out or hyperventilating. Swimming was the only thing keeping me from competing in a triathlon...but here I am now training for a half ironman. Yes I knew how to run..yes I had a bike, but really I didn't know how to put all the pieces together. With them, you have coaches to help you, teammates to push you along the way and give you advice, and practices that will kick your ass. Another great thing about the group is that they have a very flexible training schedule that can work for anyone and everyone. They have swim practices everyday (morning, lunchtime, and night), they have spin class 3 times a week at different times, they have track and run practice 3 times a week as well. On weekends there are group long rides and runs. You don't have to be a triathlete to join, many people train in all 3 sports, 2 sports or even just 1 pf the sports. The skies the limit with flexibility. If you are looking for a triathlon group to train with, this is IT. I don't mean to sound like this is some marketing ploy, because it's not. This is the real deal, and I am willing to put the smack down on anyone that chooses to challenge this review, because T3 is absolutely, positively THE shit.

Practical fitness makes it a positive to exercise and that's a first for me. The attention to detail, professionalism ,results and darn friendly folk keeps me coming back . Like many Austinites, I tend to gain a lil weight in the summertime. Turns out, staying indoors…read moresoaking up the AC doesn't burn too many calories and neither does swimming when it primarily involves sitting in an inner tube drinking tall boys and smoking cigarettes. And like many people, even when I am working out and all fit, I start slacking off cause I look good, therefore I don't have to work out. And that is why someone like me most benefits from going to an actual trainer, someone immune to my faulty logic and self-defeating habits. And that is where Jeff comes in. Unlike many random crossfit / boot camp trainers, Jeff actually has his undergrad and masters in this stuff. He's even developed his own special workout called "steady pace." There's all kinds of words he uses, like diametric reps and eccentric reps which I foggily recall from my college weightlifting classes. The best part though is I don't have to know what those words mean. I don't have to figure out what exercises I need to do or how many reps or how heavy, cause Jeff does it all for you. And the best part is, he does it all in thirty minutes once a week. Truth be told it may be the hardest thirty minutes of your entire week and you will be completely sick of Jeff and his boundless energy and encouraging, can-do attitude by minute 22. He literally almost made me puke last time. But the man knows his stuff and gets results. Alright, not properly fueling beforehand and doing three chin-ups almost made me puke, but you can be sure, I need seven days before I ever want to see weights again. Some clients need two days a week, I don't cause I'm special, you're mileage may vary. Jeff will let you know. I first discovered PF because it is in the same little center where I get my nails done and get my fancy coffee drinks (Viv Nails and Summermoon, respectively). Every time I was sitting near a window, I would see ultra fit people streaming in and out of PF. I investigated the website and found several testimonials from PF clients. I was curious. But concerned since trainers are spendy and I am inherently cheap about things I shouldn't be. But they did give you a free initial work out. And I was sold. I have been going every week since and am getting more fit despite all the drinking, happy hours, pizza, and sedentary job. I'm sure if I augmented these other things more, I'd see even faster results, but I know it's working: I picked up a gallon of water the other day and almost threw it across the room by accident and I can lift each of my pecs independently as easily as I did in high school...overshare? maybe, but Mr. Smidgens and Gabe will appreciate that. So go get your free workout and see if it's for you. If it is, tell them I sent you--I get a free workout for every referral!
