It was perfect for our group of 8! Everyone raved about the house and all its awesome amenities. Each room was awesome with very comfortable beds. They really outdid the master room, from the artwork to the furniture they really outdid themselves! The showers worked great too, plenty of towels and we loved the robes, so comfy! The kitchen was super cute and they had plenty of wine glasses with the Burbank house logo on them which we thought was a nice touch. We brought our own wine glass toppers so we didn't get our glasses mixed up (highly recommend you bring some!). The highlight was easily the game room. We stayed here from 11/18/22 - 11/20/22 and the weather was 30 degrees cold and rainy so we spent more time here than out in town. We had a lot of fun playing pool, ping pong, and card games at the bar. A great highlight was hooking our music up to the surround sound and the room is truly soundproof from the outside which is a nice peace of mind for the neighbors. Had a few technical difficulties getting some of the TVs to work (Wi-Fi/remote battery issues) but Brad (the host) was AWESOME in responding so quickly to my email inquiries and being so friendly and personable the whole time. I can not tell you how much this means when renting a place when most of the time it's poor customer service from rentals. Okay, another huge highlight was the hot tub and fire pit. We used these both nights. Just have to get your own wood but HEB is literally 4 minutes away and they had plenty. We saw the neighbor's cows, but never the ones in the field behind us which we were hoping for. Maybe next time! With the growth of Fredericksburg and so many cool new spots to check out, we will definitely be coming back and will hope to rent this amazing place out again. Thank you, Brad!

Very eclectic décor with antiques, hints of modern metal, cool old safes used as furnishing, and more. A mix of old and new, and masculine and feminine...I love the overall feel. Suite 2 (of 2) has a large sunroom with wall to wall windows that overlooks the private fenced-in yard that you have access to with the suite. Nice to sit out, relax and watch the birds. There's dinnerware, coffee, a microwave (the smallest I've ever seen - lol), fridge, and seating available. The other half of the suite is a very large bedroom and boudoir area. The en suite bathroom has a large bubble garden tub (no shower) and everything is spotless. Private parking under adjacent port. Conveniently located one block off Main. Priced comparable to similar accommodations. Recommend!

The room was appointed in beautiful old world charm. It had a huge king size bed that sits high off the floor, an old hard wood cloths wardrobe and night stands on each side of the bed. It was also furnished with a couch that pulls out into a bed and also a coffee table. The bathroom was great , it has a huge jacuzzi soaking tub that easily accommodates 2 . I had to use the step stool provided for the bed to get into the tub. I am only 5'1 and the tub is so deep that it's hard to get into. Yes here is not much counter space in the bathroom to put toiletries but we made do. There is also a fridge , microwave and coffee maker in the room. The grounds are well kept and the pool area is so relaxing. In the outdoor lounge area there are comfy couches and a fire place. Breakfast baskets are provided every morning and were a great touch. It was an amazing weekend and we will definitely be back.

For years, I've visited Fredericksburg and every time we passed this lodge, we fantasized about…read morewhat it would be like to stay there. It looked so inviting and cozy from the outside. Thankfully, we found out that it's not quite as expensive as it looks, and we could afford to stay there, so we did! The room was wonderful and very comfortable. I love the stone wall! Only qualm I had was in regard to the shower/tub. The jacuzzi tub itself was amazing, but they put a "rainshower" head above it for showers. First of all, it was a regular showerhead pointed straight down, not a rainshower like those positioned that way should be. A sign asks you to utilize the shower curtain properly so there is no water damage... which is impossible even when using the curtain. It's just a very odd setup. There will be water damage just of how the whole thing was designed. Worst about it all, was how high the tub itself is- if you are in any way disabled (be it permanently or temporarily injured) or elderly, you are going to despise this tub/shower. I'm a 34-year old fit and active person, and I struggled getting in and out of this thing. It's awkward to start with but then add water and oh sh!t, you're going down for sure! We used the stairs for the bed and put them in the bathroom for this reason but it didn't help much. Other than that, everything else was spectacular. The staff was friendly and helpful. We took advantage of the fireplace which was SO cozy! Perfect for the chilly nights we had. They supply firewood and firestarters so it's very easy to make your own. During one of the days, it was warm enough to enjoy the pool too. Breakfast gets delivered in an adorable picnic basket and it's loaded! We expected the norm of simple breakfast options like mini boxes of cereal and muffins. Nope! Hard-boiled eggs, fruit galore, prosciutto, cheese, danishes/pastries, oatmeal, and yogurt. It was different every day and delicious every day. Treat yourself and stay here! You'll be glad you did. If you fear the wacky tub/shower, don't choose room 10. That's where we were but all the rooms are unique and others may have a better layout in the bathroom.

This hill-country lodging was a pioneer home in the 1800s! Compared to a modern house, it's rather…read moresmall, but compared to a hotel room, it's quite spacious--one living area, one bedroom (with fireplace), a kitchenette, and a bathroom (no tub). If you want the atmosphere of a rustic cabin for your weekend in the Texas Hill Country, this establishment would fit the bill. It offers privacy (no host on premises) and historical interest, but it's still close enough to town that you can easily get to the biergartens, bakeries, or shops of Fredericksburg. Reservations are booked through Gastehaus-Schmidt, a local reservation service. I almost forgot to mention the heart-shaped hot tub in the courtyard! No, I am not kidding. While hardly part of the rustic, historical aspect, I thought it was kind of neat.

Nice private large back yard and deck. Cats roam around its quiet and relaxing. The room is clean. The king size bed is comfortable. Also the continental breakfast is tasty-we had delicious muffins and good coffee. And its next door which is convenient. Now for the criticism: the yard wasn't mowed and the St Augustine was quite high when we arrived. There's a mower in the shed out back and I was tempted to start it up spend 10 minutes completing this task. I did grab a broom and sweep off part of the deck. The deck tables needed cleaning. A couple of chairs need cushions. Also the plants need trimming so you can walk between the buildings. Last item I'll mention is the Jacuzzi tub needs some work. The valves are worn and its difficult to shut them off. Overall a good place to stay in FBG

Only a block from Main Street, nice decor, and the right amount of space for one or two people. Binky, the owner, is super nice and a great conversationalist. And the coffee & pastries are delicious. Eventually, Fredericksburg's prices may fall in-line, but until then, a great place at a fair price is Binky's.

There are lots of options around Texas for romantic spots so that doesn't sound too hard, right? Well, it wouldn't be if you weren't dealing with a hormonal, PMSing girl with mad food cravings because she's trying to be good and eat low carb to squeeze into the size-too-small bridesmaid dress that she ordered. Too much info? I digress. We hit the wine road towards Fredericksburg and after seven wineries, 42 tastings, and six bottles later, he brought me to the most adorable place I've ever stayed at: Carriage House. In case you're wondering, it was just as adorable the next day when I was more sober (my photos don't do the place justice). The outside of the main house was pretty, but no, we weren't staying in the main house- he did better than that. Off to the side of the main house was a little cottage standing by itself. "EEEEE, we're staying in there?!" my tipsy self gushed. The girly squeals only intensified after I saw the interior of the cottage. Hubs had outdone himself. A few tips for first timers: Dogs under 30lbs are allowed to stay for an extra $10/night. You have your very own private parking spot that is literally right next to the cottage. Once parked, you will find a little gate about a yard in front of your car; the gate leads right to the front of the cottage. In addition to the usuals that are provided at a hotel, the cottage is also supplied with dishes, silverware, and wine openers. Just check the drawers around the kitchen sink. Towels and extra toiletries are located under the bathroom sinks, and there is a step stool located underneath the (very high) bed. If you're short, use it. If you've been drinking wine all day, use it. When in doubt, use it. You're not actually served breakfast in bed here. Instead, you're given $10 vouchers (one for each guest) that can be used at several popular brunch spots in Fredericksburg. If Carriage House had a cheesy slogan, I would imagine it to be something along the lines of, "Carriage House: Drink Wine and Fall in Love." So friends, drink wine, fall in love, and check this place out. But don't try to book on my birthday weekend. Because it'll be mine.
