The service was very good, efficient and prompt to replace my garage door springs. The cost was over priced. The quote was a package price of $490 to replace the springs. There was no pricing regarding the cost of the two springs and labour. The springs cost between $120-$200 and the service took 45 minutes. The cost should have been around $350 including tax. I would not recommend Aurora Overhead Door for garage service. read more

Great service one time is outstanding. Great service two times deserves a review! When I got divorced and bought a new (to me) home in November of 2006, one of the first things that I noticed was that the garage door was wood, weathered, cracking and offered absolutely zero insulation. Normally, I wouldn't have paid too much attention to it in the beginning, but seeing as this was my first home to live in without anybody's input on what I can/could/should or would be allowed to do, I went out on a limb and thought "I need me one of them fancy, high falootin' steel garage doors". A quick search online (Google if we must name the engine) pointed me in the direction of Aurora Overhead Door. I went into their showroom, and it was nice and clean and the staff were more than willing to answer my stupid and pointless questions. Being released into the wild again, I figured I'd go all out and treat myself to both a new door AND opener. When they asked me if my existing opener was working, I replied yes. To my shock, they told me "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". I was impressed. Further to this impression, not only did they show up when they said they would, but they did their work, took the refuse, and left...the only trace that they ever were at my place was my sexy ass new garage door...oh, and a charge on my Visa card...but that part I expected. Last week, my garage door opener did what I can only describe as "shit the bed". Sure, it made all of the sounds that it used to make, but it didn't do any of the actual work. Lots of "rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr", but none of the helpful "garage door opening" that I have come to expect of it. This morning, I placed a call to AOD and had a discussion with a man (who I can only assume owns the place). A very similar conversation occurred..."does it make sound?" "Yes." "Does it work?", "No.'. At this point, the kind gentleman informed me of my three options: 1) $180 for gear replacement. It can only be done once, but I may get 10 years out of it. 2) $400 including installation for a 1/2hp new fangled belt drive opener (that's all the rage with the kids these days) 3) $450 including installation for a 3/4hp belt drive opener that will make me wish I had more garage doors than I knew how to open. I opted for option 1, gave him my credit card number, and they told me they'd come by when they had a chance and do the work. Here's the crazy part...THEY CAME AND DID THE WORK SAME DAY!!! The installer was an older gentleman (not the one who I spoke to earlier) and he was in and out of my garage with the parts replaced and old faithful back hoisting that sexy ass door like it was nobody's business...except of course, it was my business. Great service, great pricing and most importantly, done right the first time. I've lived in three different homes since 1998 and each time, one of the first phone calls I made was to Aurora Overhead Door --- for garage doors, garage door openers and locks, weather-stripping and keypads. Each time, I was happy with the reliable service, good products and reasonable rates. One morning my garage door got stuck half-way up --- we had to go to work and school, etc. but couldn't leave it like that. I've had nothing but incredible experiences with Aurora Overhead Door. Jason is extremely kind and professional, the same goes for each of his staff who have gone above and beyond for us many times. Not only are we happy with our (beautiful and fairly priced) garage door, they have also come to my rescue when my family's garage door opener wasn't working (a opener they didn't even install might I add!). Very happy customer! About a month ago, our garage door got stuck with our car in the garage. This was the second time in two years this happened. I called up Aurora Overhead Door and the man who answered was courteous and gave me a solid quote over the phone. He promised me someone would be by that day and the technician did come and on time. The technician was also very courteous and knowledgeable and was able to repair the door in half an hour. Here's the amazing part - they were able to fix the door for under a hundred dollars! I was resigned to the fact that I was going to have to pay hundreds of dollars because last year, when my garage door first got stuck, I called another place after an internet search (1-800 number, no local adddress, fly-by-night) and they charged me $700 to replace a lot of components I didn't need - also, no receipt and no warranty. Having damaged my garage door, I quickly found out that the door, which was installed 15 years ago, was no longer available as the US manufacturer went out of business a few years ago. The general contractor, who arranged for the purchase and initial install 15 years ago indicated that he dealt with either one of two OHD firms, but wasn't quite sure which one. One was in Vaughan and the other in Aurora. My phone call to the first one did not pan out as the woman answering the phone there was not really interested in my problem. I then contacted Ian Zimmermann at Aurora Overhead Doors and had the feeling right away that I had come to the right place. He sent out Jason to assess the situation and determine a manufacturer that produces a door that closely matches (with the the other 2 doors) the door pattern and colour, which turned out to be a door made by CHI. The door was installed a few days later by Marty. I am very satisfied on all counts: - my dealing with the Aurora Overhead Door team - sales and service - the quality of the door - the price I would certainly recommend Aurora Overhead Door to others. read more

I would have loved to give a better rating but service was a bit off. The sales guy was by far the best we encountered in our search with actual samples and tons of options. The pricing was very competitive. We ordered three Cloplay garage doors which we have found to be beautiful and of great quality. Aurora Overhead Doors uses sub-contractors and I am afraid in our case, they fell far short of expectation. It started when they did not clean up after themselves with rivets and nuts all over the garage floor. The seals were badly installed with a one inch gap to the floor on a couple. The installer obviously never set up the door openers as one door had a 1/2 gap to the ground when closed. The springs were not lubricated and made a squeaky noise when opening and closing. The sheet metal guy did not show up for a week after the promised date but he did do a great job. I have been accused of having a bad case of obsessive compulsion so I cleaned up, fixed the openers and lubricated the springs myself and only called to have the seals replaced. The seals were replaced promptly the next day. In defence of Aurora Overhead Doors, they apologized profusely for the shortcomings of the installation team and wished that I had left the cleanup and repairs for them to do. I am very happy with the end result and the quality of the doors is exceptional but would be hesitant to recommend them based on the installation. read more

Had a 16x7 redwood door that wasn't looking the greatest anymore so i decided to get a new insulated steel door. We decided to have a Aurora Overhead Door come out to quote. We had a salesman named Jason came out he knew his stuff. We decided to go with a clopay premium series door with windows. The installer came out installed the door in half a day as well as cleaned up everything. I would highly recommend this company! read more
