We purchased a Garaga door in 1993 from the Door Doctor. There have been two previous spring…read morefailures and each time the service technician came and replaced the springs, only charging us for labour as the parts were covered by the lifetime warranty from the Door Doctor as we were the original purchasers. The expectation is that people will move frequently and the warranty will end. Well, yesterday another spring failed and now the Door Doctor is trying to change the warranty and tell us that the warranty is no longer valid as we did not bring them in to lubricate the springs and rollers. The contract only specifies that lubrication needs to be done, and as the last technician showed me what to do, I have done so spring and fall. Nowhere does it say the lubrication needs to be done by them, only that repairs need to be done by the company. We have gone round and round on circular arguments where they are refusing to honour the warranty. The company that was once honourable has changed under new ownership. my request to speak to someone who would honour the warranty was denied by Service. Why would a company expect me to bring them in and pay full price for their services when they have displayed a lack of integrity?

Suggest you compare prices - I was charged $523 incl.hst, and that included a 'lube kit' for $18 (!) which he said was their special formula. I do feel I was taken advantage of. I am sure the same work could be done for a lot less money.

BEWARE OF FOX DOORS…read more I had an extremely disappointing experience with Fox Doors and would strongly caution anyone considering using this company. I purchased FIVE commercial garage doors from Fox Doors for approximately $34,000 cash based on representations made by Daniel Vorobiov and Eddie (Eduard) Vorobiov. Their written quotation specifically stated: * R20 fully insulated Canadian-made doors * All new tracks, springs, and hardware * LiftMaster commercial-grade operators * 10 YEAR WARRANTY on all panels One of the conditions of the sale was that they would arrange installation after I paid cash upfront. After the doors were delivered, I was then told they could not provide an installer for approximately two months, forcing me to find and pay another installer myself just to complete the project. After installation, Fox Doors later claimed the doors required "fine tuning." They charged me an additional $2,000 to send one of their own technicians to adjust the doors. During that visit, their technician broke a torsion spring and another operator was left malfunctioning afterward. I have photo and video documentation regarding the condition of the doors and equipment. When I contacted Daniel and Eddie regarding the damage caused during their service visit, I was told I would need to pay for a replacement spring myself, even though their technician broke it. After multiple attempts to resolve the matter professionally, I was eventually told I had no warranty coverage despite the written quotation referencing warranty coverage and new spring/hardware systems. In my experience, the communication, accountability, and customer service were extremely poor. The agreement and expectations changed significantly after payment was made, and I was left with damaged equipment, additional costs, and unresolved problems. Buyer beware. Make sure every promise, installation commitment, service obligation, and warranty term is clearly documented in writing before making payment

Sal was prompt and provide clear options and a wide selection of styles without any fuss about pricing. He was also up front with quotes and timeframes. Sal checked back with me a few times to reconfirm my choices while we waited for arrival. When the time came, Sal confirmed the day and time, arrived on schedule and did an excellent and efficient job of removal installation and cleanup. He also gave some advice on trim repairs. We are extremely happy with products and end results and highly recommend Dortech.

I randomly found Dortech and spoke with Sal. He was able to come the same day. He gave me a time frame in which he would arrive and even texted me when he was on his way. He took a quick assessment and started fixing the broken pieces and reset the garage opener to close properly. He had quoted the price before he started the repair and it was all done at a reasonable cost.
