!First timers! We had a nice dinner at Aurelio's Family Italian Restaurant in Ramsey! I didn't know what to expect on a Friday night, but at 6:30ish, there were plenty of open tables, high top, booths and standard tables available. The atmosphere was warm and inviting (totally reminded me of restaurants I would visit in the early 90s), and the service was excellent--friendly and attentive from start to finish. We started with the breadsticks, which were good but nothing out of the ordinary. My husband ordered the Aurelio's Classic Italian Sub, and wow--it was fantastic! Perfectly toasted bread, flavorful meats, a homemade italian dressing for dipping and just the right balance of toppings. Definitely a must-try! I had the fettuccine alfredo, which, unfortunately, didn't impress me. The sauce was a bit bland, and I was hoping for a little more richness...it was surprisingly very watery and the noodles undercooked. That being said, the experience overall was still great, and I'd absolutely come back--especially for that sub and the wonderful service! I grew up eating this type of pizza in the Chicagoland area and this is really the only place you can get it in Minnesota. Prepare yourself for a sweeter sauce as that is what makes it unique. I've been here many many times starting when it was a hole in wall in Roseville. I travel about a half an hour to get it now and it is worth it every time. Got a caesar salad for the first time on this visit and it was a good salad even though the dressing really didn't taste like a caesar. More vinegar and oil than creamy caesar but still good. Glad to see the place was busy as I though Covid policies would surely have done it in as a friend told me there has been a lot of restaurants at this location. Will keep coming back! read more

Been meaning to get in here for a long time. Finally did tonight. Cheese sticks are good but the pizza is just not good. I wanted to like it but it was terrible. Even the soda tasted off. Service was meh. $70 for 2 small pizzas, cheese sticks and 2 sodas. Definitely will not go back. read more

I was so excited to go to this Aurelio's location because I grew up going to the original Aurelio's in Homewood, IL. I try to get back to IL a couple times a year and my first stop is always there. Today I finally visited the Ramsey location. The Antipasto salad came packed in an overflowing small bowl that was 85% lettuce, with 2 small plastic side cups with Italian dressing. It wasn't tossed in the bowl and couldn't have been due to the size of the bowl. The salad was so bad I started to worry about the pizza but was hopeful. When the pizza arrived, the first thing I noticed was that the cheese looked orange. We couldn't take a slice off without the cheese and toppings sliding off the crust. Okay, we'll use a knife and fork. That's when we discovered the crust was undercooked. I'm guessing too much sauce was put on the pizza before putting it in the oven which prevented it from cooking thus making the cheese soupy. We ate less than a quarter of the pizza, boxed it up, paid the bill and left. A total waste of time and money. read more

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE ONLINE! WHAT A JOKE! In my opinion don't bother going here at all. I messed up assuming cheese came on pizza. Boy was I wrong! It's confusing on the app because the options are cheese only, light cheese or no cheese. I didn't select any of the options because I just wanted the regular amount of cheese. Assuming pizza came with cheese unless you asked for "No" cheese. An 18 inch pizza that was $39.20 not only made without cheese. They burnt to a crisp. The only way the Guy would remake a new pizza correct was if we paid full price for a replacement pizza. This was after he said I thought it was weird you ordered the pizza without cheese. Not to mention I added cheese to the garlic bread I ordered. Plus I ordered packets of Parmesan cheese! This establishment doesn't believe in customer service that's obvious. Good thing pizza restaurants are a dime a dozen. Take your business elsewhere if you want to have tasty pizza that's not burnt! And you like good customer service! My first visit to Aurelio's - I like the pizza - it has a unique sweet red sauce. I can't believe that Aurelio's has been in Minnesota for decades and I've never been there. But now there's a new location only 5 minutes from my house. (And mercifully, the old restaurant finally died and went away to Failed Restaurant Heaven.) First, I thought the pizza was very good. (I ordered a 10" small thin crust with sausage, pepperoni, and jalapenos.) The sauce is different. It's sweet. It tastes a lot like a sweet Ragu spaghetti sauce. I think this is a different flavor that's somewhat polarizing...some people will love it and others might hate it. You can see this reflected in some of the opinions in earlier Yelp reviews. So before you try the pizza and drop some dough, you might want to ask for a sample to see if it's your thing. Second, I also tried the Aurelio's Italian Submarine Sandwich and some Jalapeno Poppers. They were both great. You can pick from about half a dozen dipping sauces for the apps. I picked the sweet hot pepper sauce. It was very good and a nice compliment to the poppers. Third, they have a full bar. So it's a nice place to watch some TV at the bar and grab a beer or a cocktail. Finally, the service was awesome. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and on top of their game. It's a very welcoming place. The bar tender, Keith, was a particularly nice guy with a friendly, low key demeanor. To be honest the pizza is nothing special. I ordered two pizzas- one white and one red and was unimpressed. The red sauced pizza had cheddar(?) cheese on it which is a first. The pizzas were not a hit with our group. I will probably look for another place next time I am in the area. read more

Being a huge fan of Aurelios in the Chicagoland area, I stop at this one when traveling in the Minneapolis area. It's worth going out of the way for. This was our first visit. You could tell the salad had been premade at least a day ago (but wonderful blue cheese dressing but the croutons were soggy) Great service! Very attentive! The beef ravioli was wonderful, the bread however was stale and my husbands bread was a little cold in the middle..(I am thinking we just went on an off day) We were not over pleased with THIS visit... but will most likely give it another try. Stopped in for a bit of lunch and left very surprised. Delicious pizza! It was super tasty, tons of cheese and very quick to arrive at the table. Next we ordered some the jalapeno poppers. They were good as well. My only gripe is that they used cheddar cheese to stuff them. I like cream cheese in my poppers. That is just personal preference though. Check this joint out. It was great. I don't know what kind of magic Aurelio's uses on their pizza, but their pizzas are worthy of notice, and of devouring. Don't let the size of the personal pizza fool you. It's only four slices but it's mighty filling. I had the pepperoni and sausage. It certainly would rank in my own personal top 10 list of best tasting pizzas. Why? I don't know what they do with their cheese, but their oven creates an awesome crust that hovers over a delicious gooey layer of hot cheese. So, with each bite you're getting the crispiness of cheese on top and a crisp thin layer of crust on the bottom, filled with a flavorful tomato sauce and toppings. Best of all, neither the top or bottom are charred or burned. The crust is something of a miracle too, in that it curls up on the edges slightly. It's a nice dark brown and holds your sauce in so that it's not spilling all over your lap. I'm telling you... This is a terrific and unique pizza. I didn't think I could be surprised by pizza, but I was. I would definitely recommend it, and definitely return... Over and over again. You wowed me Aurelio's, and that's hard to do. read more

We have heard all about this place, so we were excited to give it a try. First off, it felt a little bit cramped in the seating area, but there were some nice touches, like having trivia cards at each table. We ordered a salad and pizza. The salad was mostly iceberg lettuce and the dressing was ok. The pizza was thin crust and the cheese, crust, and sauce were not our cup of tea. It seemed way too greasy for some reason, and we couldn't figure out why. It did not seem to be a good value for the money, it seemed expensive. Later, after talking to some friends (we had mentioned that the menu was a little bit confusing), and the waiter didn't explain a lot either, we found that the "thing to order" is the "stuffed" pizza, which is supposedly like a deep dish or pan/chicago style. When I was younger, I used to get Aurelio's when it was located in Roseville, MN. After the move, my family still visits, often to take out No-Bake Pizzas for home.
