An exceptional dining experience from start to finish. Our server, Joan, was outstanding throughout…read morethe entire evening--attentive, professional, and impressively knowledgeable about both the menu and the wine pairings and overall a great server, His recommendations truly elevated the experience. The supporting staff was amazing, when they noticed my love for parmigiana cheese, while grating he offered me a small price of the fresh cheese, it was so amazing and made my night. The little things really showed. To begin, I ordered the Lychee Cocktail, which was absolutely delightful. It leans toward the sweeter side, which I personally enjoy, and it was perfectly balanced and refreshing. My boyfriend ordered the espresso martini and mentioned it was the best he has ever had. For our meal, we tried the Alfredo prepared in the parmesan wheel, which was nothing short of incredible--rich, flavorful, and easily one of the most memorable dishes I've ever had. I initially ordered the Frutti di Mare seafood pasta with added steak. While beautifully prepared, the seafood flavor was slightly stronger than my personal preference. However, this was purely subjective and likely just my own taste. The staff graciously exchanged it for the shrimp Alfredo, which turned out to be absolutely phenomenal--creamy, perfectly cooked, and truly to die for. Overall, the service, atmosphere, cocktails, and food made for a fantastic experience. We will absolutely be returning.

I started the conversation by saying that I'm not looking for any discount or free meal!!! Our conversation was about Courtney the assistant general manager, Ramon said, she had "Some" complaints about her and there were some measures taken. Ramon was very positive and invited us again to visit Divieto which I declined It's too bad because we always liked the food. Divieto needs more of Ramon and less of Courtney. Good bye and good luck Divieto!

Unfortunately removing a couple of stars because of the service we had last night at Angelina's…read more We ordered the mushroom soup with taleggio and the little gem chopped salad to start, and the butternut squash ravioli (my favorite pasta here), pappardelle 'capri', and the veal and wagyu beef bolognese for our main courses. We finished our meal with an order of the cannoli, which came with three cannoli on three separate plates which is very nice. Everything tasted as great as the last time we visited Angelina's, but we could not get over the change in service. Our server seemed to glare at us from across the room for the majority of the meal, and seemed irritated that we shared portions of our meals between the three of us. When refilling our water glasses, she even remarked that one member of our party had switched plates with the other. At one point in the evening, we saw our server speaking to another employee across the room while staring at us, then threw her hands up as if exasperated by our presence. We could only guess it was because we were trying some of each other's entrees. At another point, she removed my mother's bread dish but left the other two while we were still eating bread before our main courses, even after my mother started speaking to try and stop her. I have never had a problem tasting someone else's order before, especially when each of us had our own main courses and 2/3 of us ordered a first course too, so we were left baffled by the entire exchange. We'll miss the complimentary limoncello or amaro at the end of the night, but that was just a pleasant bonus and never expected. Hoping the service at Angelina's improves to its former self.

Came to Caffè da Michele Osteria Italiana with our group of four for a late lunch after a morning…read morespent outlet mall shopping. It was a pleasant day and there were two tables occupied outside and none inside, a pretty light amount of guests. We decided to sit indoors at a four top near the door to get a little ambiance and stay out of the sun. We ordered three pizzas between us, as two people were splitting one and two others were having their own. Service was an indifferent, impersonal and lackadaisical, especially considering the place was nearly empty. Compounding the lack of check-ins and lack of service attention is that the servers have very limited, frankly only rudimentary English language skills. So you are pretty much limited to only very basic one word questions or answers, or pointing at items on the menu. After a fair amount of time after ordering, maybe about say 25 to 30 minutes, a server brought out two pizzas, dropped them at our table, and abruptly left without saying a word, or offering an opportunity to speak with them. After about five to ten minutes, and no check-in by the server, I flagged them down with my arms. I wanted to make sure they got the order for the other pizza. They quickly nodded and left without a word on what was going on with the other pizza. Finally after about another 20 or 25 minutes they brought out the other pizza, also without a word as to why it was delayed. I can only come to two possible conclusions about what happened: either they forgot about the third pizza until asked, or somehow their pizza oven only cooks two pizzas at a time - this seems unlikely as the pizzas are fairly small and being shaped like flatbreads, more than two should fit in their pizza oven. The pizza itself was pretty good. I had the Capricciosa and it had tasty toppings of San Marzano tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, artichoke heart, prosciutto di Parma, olives and mushrooms. While the toppings were good, I thought the crust was a bit doughy and could have used a little char. Would not come back however, with the absolutely lousy service. Too bad.

We started with drinks -- I tried their lemon drop martini, which was perfectly sweet and sour. The complimentary warm, herby pitas and sweet, diced tomato, onion, and balsamic dip were a delicious start to the night. With so many different items on the menu it was difficult to pick an entree, but I cannot resist fresh pasta. I ordered the linguine goulash, which has a rich and savory sauce filled with chopped beef. My friend ordered and loved the stuffed fiocchetti, which is very unique with its stuffed purse pasta shape and sweet pear and ricotta filling with white sauce and walnuts. Another member of our group ordered the chicken marsala, which came with very flavorful chicken and sauce, and tender roasted vegetables. We liked the larger portion sizes and decent prices for fresh pasta and high quality ingredients. We were too full to try dessert, but my eye is on the chocolate lava cake for next time! As nice surprise, Hugo -- the owner of De Adriatico, stopped by while we were eating and greeted every table. The passion he has for his food and those he meets was evident. Making De Adriatico my first choice whenever we're craving homemade pasta!

Dinner done right at San Mateo…read more San Mateo absolutely delivers when it comes to classic Italian done with care. We started with the meatballs--rich, tender, and swimming in a beautifully balanced tomato sauce that tastes like it's been simmering all day. Comfort food at its finest. The seafood salad was fresh, light, and perfectly composed--plump shrimp, creamy avocado, crisp greens, and just the right acidity to keep everything bright and refreshing. Then came the star: a Neapolitan-style pizza with a blistered crust, vibrant tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, and basil. Simple, authentic, and executed flawlessly--the kind of pizza that doesn't need extras to impress. Paired everything with a smooth Italian red, and the experience just clicked. Warm service, relaxed atmosphere, and food that speaks for itself. If you're in Estero and craving real Italian flavors, San Mateo is a must-visit. You'll leave full, happy, and already planning your return.

If hospitality were the meal, this would be a five-star dinner. The food, however... well, let's just call it food. Nothing bad, nothing exciting, nothing that made me smile or think about it again on the drive home. It was edible, it filled the space, and it technically did its job. I'd come back for the people in a heartbeat. I just wish the kitchen showed up with the same energy.
