My mom wasn't seated until 2:50 PM, and Stephanie didn't start on her hair until 3:15 PM. We were at the salon for 3.5 hours, over an hour of it spent waiting -- with no apology or communication, just repeated "five more minutes" while she kept working on the other client and ignored us completely. The bigger issue was the attitude once she did start. We knew our inspiration photos might not be fully achievable, and we said so -- we just wanted professional guidance on what could work. Instead, Stephanie focused almost entirely on what couldn't be done, to the point where it felt like nothing could be done. It was discouraging and honestly depressing. A stylist's job isn't just to list limitations -- it's to help clients find the best option for the hair they have. My mom also asked if she could color her hair, time permitting. Stephanie said no immediately, citing other clients and the fact that only a haircut was booked -- despite the appointment already running over an hour late because of her. Ironically, since she ended up only trimming my mom's hair, she did have time to color it after all. At the end, Stephanie apologized for running late and for her attitude. I appreciate that, but it doesn't change the experience. To be clear: the issue was never that certain styles weren't possible. We understood that going in. As for the shampooing and facial, the session was quite relaxing, though a couple parts of the facial (probably the extraction part) were kinda painful. There was a moment where the water was a bit too hot for me, and I let Kim know, and she readjusted right away. So feel free to speak up if you feel uncomfy at any point! Bonus points that the products used did not break out my acne-prone skin, and my face felt very smooth afterward for weeks. Afterward, we went back to the stylist chair for her to blow-dry my hair and add finishing touches to my haircut. And after everything was done, I was curious about the price of a bayalage since the board prices were significantly cheaper than my local salons. I didn't intend to sound like I wanted a bayalage that day because the shop was closing in an hour and I had already been there for a long time. So I asked Kim about the bayalage while butchering the pronunciation of the word, and she didn't understand me at all and actually appeared upset at me. I felt bad that I ruined the vibe (because previously, we were looking at my freshly styled hair), and she told me to talk to Mary while she took another client. Mary understood I was asking about a bayalage and asked Kim in Viet about the price, and Kim still seemed upset even when answering Mary. And it turned out the price was the same as my local salons, so I just said, "Ah, okay." I paid for the day's services and was on my way to dinner afterward.
