This place came up, and Jay had the highest reviews, so I decided to give him a try today. I showed him a picture of the haircut I wanted. The salon was clean and professional with some ambient jazz in the background. My appointment with Hibiki started with a gentle hair wash before I was brought a small cup of tea and some konpeito to snack on as I showed him the album of reference photos on my phone. For anyone looking to book here that doesn't speak Japanese, I would advise you make sure you have clear reference photos of the type of cut you want--preferably from multiple angles. Alice is the very best!!!…read more I've been coming to Alice since spring/summer of 2024, and now I can never go to anyone else. Seriously, the best haircuts I've ever had, that make it worth driving from the Bay Area. While at college, I had to try some other hair stylists and they just don't compare, to the point where she could tell they had done things that weren't in line with what I usually like. Her intuition for what you're looking for is spot on, and she knows how to kindly suggest what will and won't work best. Plus, when I was interested in color but am on a college student budget, she didn't hesitate to give me the best at-home suggestions. Not to mention that she's extremely personable, kind, and takes the time to really get to know you and check in on your life, no matter how long it's been since you last came in.
