Not as good as it once was, the service is slow, the food is lacking, the pretzel dough is flavorless. For the price I would expect more.

I wish we understood more before we ordered that you could have tried the flavors a mix. We were both very happy with our chocolate waffle cones when we came back the next day. The ice cream has a great consistency, the chocolate didn't have much flavor as opposed the strawberry I asked for (not sure it was because it was much darker than other pictures I've seen) The waffle cones are fresh made there and they are great! The brownies are fantastic!

We were of course enamored with Twistee Treat when driving by and discovering the building/ shack looks like an ice cream cone or cupcake! We later discovered that this was not the only location in Florida either. This location was really busy when we visited, which was on a weekend, in the middle of the day. Any time we have passed by here, there were customers. They even have a drive thru window! There are several tables and seats available to sit and enjoy your treats outside. We decided to use the walk up option and browse the menu. Since it was super hot out, we predicted our ice cream was going to melt fast. I do not get to indulge in sweets because of my T1D but my go to is always a soft serve twist, with vanilla and chocolate with rainbow sprinkles. We were greeted quickly and offered to order. All the staff were moving quickly and we received our treats quickly. There is no shade so we decided to walk in the parking lot, where there was shade and enjoy our ice cream. It definitely hit the spot and we enjoyed it. I definitely was full and could not finish my whole cone so I shared with hubs, even though he had his own ice cream. I have heard some of the locations have temporarily closed, including this location, for health code violations. It seems like this location resolved their issues and reopened quickly, so that is good news.

This place is a sugar rush delight!…read more As I saw billboards for it along the highway heading to my parents place in Ocala I had to experience it. My sister took me here and it did not disappoint. Pure nostalgia here at Grandpa Joe's. Reminded me of an old five and dime store with an awesome selection of candies and sweets from mt childhood. Along with a modern selection and all kinds of sodas and novelties to purchase. Candy cigarettes, Pop Rocks, Fun Dip, rock candy, Chick o Sticks, Pez, candy bars, Nik L Nips, old time gum brands, and so much more. Yes, its like being a kid in a candy store! Good prices and I walked out with a bag of sweets. Open late so after a few drinks or dinner at spots close by its located right in the square at the Ocala downtown entertainment district for an easy walk over. Friendly helpful people work here too. Oh, and they have a $5 candy buffet in the back of the place with a terrific selection to pack your box with.

There is always something silly from chocolate dipped insects, dirty socks, pickled eggs, hot sauce, board games, specialty sodas and drinks, crazy jerky sticks like alligator, duck, wild boar and elk meat! Different pop corn flavors specialty candy bars, fudge and candy powders, the list goes on and as you can see toys too, it's just a crazy fun store! Look at the train going around when you look up this place is fun in every way possible who doesn't want to come here! We went to pay and I found Lip Licking Lip balm from my childhood too, now I don't remember these flavors but I took one of these home it made my day through and through! And here we have another gem to add to Ocala's increasingly cool selection of places to eat…read more Located in the heart of downtown Ocala, Soleil Bakery is a gluten-free bakery offering locals and visitors alike a delicious selection of pastries both savory and sweet without the traditional gluten filled ingredients. The perfect place for a book club meet-up, or catch up with friends at any time of day, the cafe is sweetly decorated and uber cozy. I was so glad to see they were open as the few times I had visited before they were closed. With that said, I recommend to call beforehand as my understanding is that the bakery has odd hours sometimes. The staff was friendly and helped me choose a selection of goods to take home with me. I ended up with their very last snickerdoodle cookie, two spinach quiches, and their peanut butter chocolate cheesecake with an Oreo crust. Yum, yum, and yum! All of it. The quiche was particularly good and heated up well the next day keeping the center moist and fluffy while still being loaded with spinach. Sorry to say my review won't come with photos of the treats I picked up as I ran out quickly to get home in the rain. But...I guess you'll just have to go see yourself! Soleil Bakery & Social House is a must try!

After residing in Ocala for 9 months, we finally made it here. To be honest, this business was not…read moreon my list of bookmarks, nor had I even checked it out. We finally explored the square due to one of the art walk events. Since it we visited twice here on Friday evenings, we decided to have espresso. During the events in the square, the businesses usually stay open later than usual. This also means they are busy. I have yet to visit during normal business hours so I am not sure how the traffic is usually. Our first visit was just to check it out and get whatever on a spontaneous decision. I did not know they serve beer and wine so I opted for wine our first time. I picked out some French white wine, which wound up being over $20 for a tiny bottle! The staff member warned me she was unsure of the price and we were both shocked when she scanned it lol. I then switched it for a sparkling wine, which was half the price. The espresso hubs and I split was as good as it gets. We love our espressos and coffee bold and strong so we were happy. The staff member also gave me a teacher's discount, which I appreciate so much because therapists don't usually get discounts! The next time we visited, we ordered another espresso, as well as a cinnamon bun and an Andes cake. OMFG how orgasmic!! I love mint chocolate anything so I was sooooo excited! We saved it for later and it was just amazing! Hubs loves cinnamon buns and he approved as well. Both times we sat for a while, sipped our coffee, and talked. I am definitely interested in checking Soleil out when it is less busy to soak it in. The place was clean and the staff were personable and friendly. They serve a lot of vegan products and honestly, they are so good, you probably could not tell the difference which is vegan or not. They have comfy seating and it does feel very cozy in there.
