We could hear a duck that sounded like it was in distress and we went to check it out. There was a duck standing over a gutter and her ducklings fell down in and could not get out. It was too deep for us to reach them, and so we asked the manager if we could borrow a broom so the ducklings could climb up on it. She said "No, It's a safety violation". I said " I just want to borrow the broom for like five minutes or you could come out with me". Same response. For the next 45 minutes, my daughter and I found anyone who could help us. A nice young woman actually jumped down inside the gutter that was about 5 feet deep. My daughter started asking anyone she saw if they had a net, and someone actually did and let us borrow it. Together we proceeded to save each duckling. There were eight. Once finished, we walked back in the Shake Shack to get a bag to take our food home to heat up. Not one word from the manager, nothing. I think this would be a good opportunity for the leaders of Shake Shack to teach empathy and compassion to their employees. It wasn't that the manager was rude, she just came across as not caring. The least she could've done is when she saw me at the counter is to come up and ask about the ducks. But nothing.

It can look like it's mutated at other places, with no chicken to be found within the excess. It's gotta be the herbed mayo that adds to its flavor as well. It's a winning combo, not pictured in my review, because it didn't last long. I got some fries again on this visit and they are great! The cookies and cream shake is perfect. When a guy handed me my order, he took the time to ask if he could get me anything else. It's a busy Saturday afternoon the entire place including the bathrooms were clean...so five stars for everything, thanks! It also doesn't hurt that I got 50% off my chicken shack because I signed up for rewards last time I was in. By the way, it's pretty cool that through June. I watched this amazing crew kick into action, each working smoothly to contact online orders, take care of customers in the store, all while trying to get their power back on.
