I contacted Mr. Rooter because I had a water leak in my kitchen, which damaged my cabinets, walls, and floors. Richard and his trainee were excellent. They were very professional and all-around cool people. He contacted Enrique for further assistance with my water leak. Enrique showed up, and he was a cool person as well. He said he needed to water jet my sewer lines, which cost $1,500.00, to help him further identify the issue. I was skeptical of this but agreed to eliminate it as an issue. My sewer pipes were not clogged, and water passed through them with ease. They were unable to identify the water leak, so I was told my sewer pipes needed to be treated with a special chemical (I don't remember the name of it) to repair any interior cracks. The estimate for that service was $40,000.00. I decided to pay the $1,500.00 and obtain a second opinion. I contacted a 2nd plumber referred to me by my realtor and set an appointment. Minutes after contacting the 2nd plumber, Mr. Rooter called me back and said they could send out the plumbers again and offer me a discount on the alleged sewer pipe repairs, to which I said no. After carefully evaluating the whole kitchen, the 2nd plumber verified everything Mr. Rooter's staff members did, and he was stumped to not understand where my water leak was coming from. The 2nd plumber returned to basic training, identified the water leak, and told me that the $40,000.00 repair Mr. Rooter wanted me to commit to would not have solved my issue. Not only did the 2nd plumber fix my kitchen water leak, but he also replaced a working water pipe that had no involvement with my original issue for a combined total of $1,200.00. I will not be calling Mr. Rooter again!
