First of all, they don't even have me down, even though I filled out all the paperwork and have text messages confirming my appointment. These people are a scam they charged me $600 just to look at my teeth which is a crazy amount if I would have went anywhere else my insurance would have covered the whole visit. They also have no plan of action after changing me 600. No referral to an oral surgeon to get my teeth fixed or anything. Over priced Dentistry. Deceptive front desk staff. I was told my estimate for a procedure was incorrect when I complained prior to the procedure and prepared to leave the office. A front desk staff member intervened and assured me there was a mistake and that the estimate was done as if no insurance had been applied for my procedure. I mentioned never paying more than $700 dollars for a crown in the past after insurance, in or out of network. I was deceptively led to believe that my bill would be adjusted with my insurance and wouldn't be the roughly $2200 I was quoted. I was asked to pay $600 dollars, which I did, assuming a minimal payment at most. Later I was billed an additional 1500 dollars. I am super frustrated with the deception of the front desk staff. I have since called back and complained about the transaction and how I felt deceived. The staff member (front manager) said they would call me back after seeing what could be done to rectify what I felt was deceptive salesmanship at the front desk. I have not received a call back. The dentist did good work. The deception soured my feelings of this office. I would never recommend this dentist office. read more

Dr. Dryer and Tonya and the rest of the staff are excellent. They are kind and thorough. The only thing that would keep me from giving 5 stars is that they are much more expensive than my previous dentist. They also are pushy about selling product such as electric toothbrush and jet floss machine. I will say that I was very confident with the staff and the overall experience. read more

**WARNING:** Caution is advised when dealing with this company. They accept your insurance, claim to file for you, but conceal the fact that they are out of network with ALL insurance providers. I was hit with a $610 charge for my initial new patient appointment, while my 4-year-old daughter incurred a $400 bill. The most frustrating part is that they only disclosed their out-of-network status after the service, even though my insurance covers 100% in-network. TOO MANY BILLING ISSUES, and we were in-network. We got the runaround, and it took way too long to resolve. The front desk staff seemed dishonest and questionable. Either it was intentional or a lack of training. I made multiple phone calls with them and my insurance and finally received my correct refund. My insurance was unhappy about their billing practices and immediately noticed I was charged incorrectly. I tried to resolve it on my own, but they acted confused & still would not refund me the correct amount. They claim there was no overcharge & that they even gave me an in-network discount. However, I still pursued the issue because my bill did not look right despite that "discount." Eventually, my insurance had to set up a meeting with the billing manager to review my charges, and they owed me even MORE than they were going to refund me initially. Friendly staff and great dentists. But sadly, we had to move on to a new dentist, and we no longer have billing issues. (Btw, I have been to dentists nationwide; this is the first one I had billing issues with). It was so unfortunate; I truly wanted to love it here. Hopefully, they start doing the right thing and fix the billing issues or retrain billing staff. Always pay attention to your charges as well as your EOB (explanation of benefits). If something seems off with your dentist bill, don't hesitate to contact your insurance. My insurance excellently advocated for me and resolved the incorrect charges. All this to say, unless you have money to burn, please check out other options. ****I originally posted this on google reviews. My guess is they continued to get too many reviews regarding their shady billing practices & decided to hide their google business profile. Luckily I take notes of my reviews just in case something like that happens especially with businesses that seem shady. & I truly don't want other people to go through a similar bad experience. Although their google profile seems to be hidden now so all the reviews (warnings) regarding billing issues are no longer visible...my hope is that someone will still see this review and check this platform when they google search this company. I made an appointment for a chipped tooth the night before my appointment. I had a chance in my work schedule that wouldn't allow me to make the appointment, so I called the office in the morning to cancel the appointment, and I was told that it would be a $100.00 cancellation fee. Then they processed to tell me that my appointment was for a clean, and they had blocked off two hours for this. I told them that I didn't make a clean appointment that it was for a chipped tooth. The lady turned to the other ladies in the office to ask them and then returned to the phone and said I did. I didn't make a clean appointment with this office. It was only for a chipped tooth. I could not recommend Dr. Dyer and her staff at Augusta Smile Care more! I have always had an extreme fear of the dentist office due to a traumatic experience as a child but this office has eased every bit of my anxiety surrounding dental care. Dr. Dyer has such a calming presence and will do everything she can to make you comfortable and ensure that your needs are met. Recently, they went above and beyond on such short notice to treat a cosmetic problem for me before a big event. They truly care about their patients and you feel it every time you walk into the building or speak to someone over the phone. Highly, highly recommend! read more

It's not like me to leave a negative review, but here it goes... I made an appointment with Augusta Smile Care in May of 2018. The receptionist advised that they had no appointments sooner than September 18th, 2018. I was willing to wait because I have heard great things about the practice. I was offered an appointment a little earlier on August 9th, 2018 but decided to keep my mid-September appointment. On Friday, September 14th, I was called at 9:23am. I didn't answer as I was at work and was prepping for a move, a storm (my family lives in NC btw), and I had a lot more to worry about than call to confirm my appointment that Friday. According to the website, the office hours are 8-4pm Monday through Friday (not open on the weekends). No biggie, I would just call on Monday to confirm my appointment on Tuesday. Makes sense right? It would be nice to speak with a live person to make sure all my paperwork and insurance info is in and that there is nothing I needed to know before my appointment. Am I wrong? Well, it obviously did not make sense to the office staff. I received a call at 7:29am on Monday morning stating that my appointment had been cancelled. What? Wait, Why? Needless to say, I called the office on my first break, worried that I made an appointment 3.5 months in advance and took a day off from work for no reason. No one answered and I left a message. I called again on my lunch break, no answer, left a message. I called again and again, leaving messages stating that I am only able to answer my phone on breaks. Finally, I get a call (when I am not able to answer) I get a message from the staff stating that they have listened to my messages and that they canceled my appointment due to no response. Wait... They called (once) on Friday...Today is Monday...My appointment is tomorrow... My apologies, I did not realize a response was required by 7:29am on Monday morning for my appointment on Tuesday. Could you have at least given me until Noon? Btw, I can't find any info on your website saying that I had to leave a message or instructions for confirmation of my appointment. Please show me where if you do. It turns out I was offered an appointment tomorrow at 2pm. I left a message to accept. No confirmation call for me to say it was set in stone though. Possibly payback? I guess I will find out tomorrow when I show up smiling :) Anyways, the whole point of this story is that mistakes happen, people are busy, and have bad days. Policies don't always work in the favor of the customer but at least you can be kind. I would have loved a genuine "I am sorry for your incovenience". I would have loved a live person (your hours state you are open on Mondays 8-4) or at least a message stating that you were "Out of the Office" and when to expect a callback. I truly feel these are customer service "no-brainers" (let me know if I am wrong). No empathy was expressed on my behalf for one heck of a Friday afternoon. Come to think of it, I felt accused. No customer should ever feel that way. I cried a little and then I decided to suck it up and show up anyways. I still plan to be there at that office at 2pm hoping that I actually have an appointment and the dental staff treats me a little better than the office staff did. I hear you that guys are great! This is such a shady business. I called and asked if they participate with my insurance and they said yes. I went for my cleaning and got the bill of $700 that my insurance didn't cover since they accept the insurance but are out of network. This is shady business they know exactly what they are doin when they choose not to tell you the exact words we need to hear. All they need to say is that they are not in network. People cannot afford $700 bills for cleanings!!! As I am now reading the reviews they have swindled multiple people this way!! How is this good business practices, are are supposed to be able to trust our medical professionals but when they have shady operating procedures they are clearly only out to get as much money as possible from people that have made it known we fully intend to work in network! I highly recommend Dr. Massey and his staff at Augusta SmileCare. I found his office when I had a dental emergency while visiting family in Augusta. Three years later, I still go to Dr. Massey even though I live 360 miles away. I was in an unfortunate (and embarrassing place) where I had numerous problems with my teeth/mouth. I really had no idea how I would ever correct these problems. Dr. Massey worked with me to establish a plan to correct/fix all of these problems. His staff was great about working around my schedule as I could only get work done during my breaks from work. Dr. Massey is meticulous and careful in his work. If something's not right, he will make sure it's fixed. He also cares about the aesthetics of my smile. My mouth looks much nicer than it ever has (even compared to what it looked like before all of my problems started). Dr. Massey and his staff also care about my comfort and anxiety. I once had two straight days in the chair and forgot my protein shake lunch. One of his staff members gave me her own protein shake so that I could eat! I can't say enough nice things about Augusta SmileCare! They've changed my life for the better. read more

I want to first state that Dr Massey, Darylyn and his staff are all very polite, courteous and provide excellent customer service; however, my wife and I will no longer be going to his office because I recently went for a routine visit with cleaning and xray and was charged $500. We have dental insurance, whom we called and stated that the appropriate charge for these basic services was covered ~$170. When we spoke to Dr Massey's billing department, they stated that their charges are in par with the Evans area. We spoke with two other local dentist offices who stated that this is about 3 x customary billing. Attempts to have the bill reasonably reduced were ignored. I would recommend against going here unless you have money to burn. read more

I don't have the best set of teeth and have spent thousands of dollars on them in my life; none to spare. After 'getting my insurance information' and telling me that I would have to pay this amount, I get some work done. The hygienist was talking about how broke she was to Dr. Massey the whole visit and dropping subtle hints for a raise; that was awkward. Then I get a bill for the remainder of the work done 2 months later bc they screwed up on getting my insurance information. Dropping over $1000 for 3 fillings out of pocket is a big deal for me, especially when trying to take proper steps so that something like that wouldn't happen. THEN I find out that I will be spending more on a root canal on a tooth that he worked on without passing good judgement first and letting me flush money down the toilet to get a filling that was obsolete. No more Augusta Smilecare for me. read more
