The way that she leads the class allows us as students to feel at home with one another, and to push our bodies as far as we are able to at the time. There is no competition, and we never have to worry about failure, because each of us is at our own level, and Susie caters to all of us effortlessly. Mind Body Stress Reductions is located in the second string of buildings in a business complex on Columbia road. They have massage tables, counseling rooms, and specialize in psychology, hypnotherapy, massage, holistic healing of the mind, and integrative medicine. Needless to say their offices are very relaxing, and the staff that I have met thus far are all gentle souls who are more than happy to help. So far I have attended 5 classes since joining 4 days ago, doubling up on classes yesterday. They offer multiple membership packages starting at 4 classes a month, 8 classes a month, and unlimited. They are opening a second location soon so that will open up more options for classes. Memberships are on a 90 day basis and then roll month to month. Like most contracts, cancellation must be done in a written format, 30 days in advance. Class sizes are small (12 reformers) so they can get booked quickly but I haven't had an issue with finding available times, I just have to be creative with my schedule. Classes range from level 1, 1.5, and 2. I have really enjoyed the reformer class and the restore class. I will be trying the cardio and the balance class next week. All of the instructors that I have met are amazing and I'm looking forward to meeting the others and trying out the other classes.

I went this past weekend for a massage and facial and left a bit dissapointed. My massage was great, even though I think it's absurd to pay extra for aromatherapy when that literally sets the tone and vibe for a massage. The masseuse did a wonderful job addressing my problem areas. On to my facial- the esthetician, Raleigh, was friendly. I scheduled the dermaplane facial. She didn't assess my skin before the facial, didn't ask about problem areas, didn't even tell me what she planned to do for my face. I let her know that I was interested the Oxygen facial and wanted her input for what I was trying to achieve for my skin- brightening and even texture, but said I'll let her tell me what my skin needs. Her only response was "this is a dermaplane facial". And that was it. After it started I asked if there was a heated blanket on the bed as it was cold. She checked and said there wasn't. That's it. She continually used a lukewarm, thin rag on my face through out the session. Afterwards, as I was getting up to my robe back on, I noticed Ordinary skin products on the counter. Not sure if this was used on my face but this is a dissapointment that they utilize these cheap products on anyone given how expensive their services are. When I walked out of the room, she showed me to my locker, said thank you and that was all. Nothing telling me about my skin or services as others had done in this very place. Overall this service alone has deterred me from coming back as I can get better services, better product elsewhere. It felt rushed and almost like she was there to do her job only, not to offer the customer experience one expects when coming to the Retreat.

It was only after we were leaving we realized that there were other clients with robes on sitting in the waiting room that there was a women change room. There is definitely a need for customer sensitivity training.
