My goal was to learn the basics of using a sewing machine. While anxiety ridden about using their equipment, as I'm quite clumsy, the instructors eased my shaky hands and by the end I felt confident enough to take another class. Side note: I'll probably take the beginner class one more time so I can focus on my speed as seen in the video. My Best Friend's Sewing Room LLC offers a variety of classes from beginner to advanced. They're classes are great for the young and old. If you have mini me's check out their summer camps or take a class with your mini. Group Suggestions: Have one person book your spots or agree to all book at the same time. The classes are limited and you want to be sure to get a seat in the class. If you own a machine but haven't used it previously, I strongly suggest requesting to use a loaner machine. I would bring my machine for advice and to Mande sure all the parts are there. Solo Suggestions: Prepare to make new friends as it is a close setting and crafty people are immediate friends. The past 6 months, more and more, you come to the school to find out they're closed that day or having a ceremony. I finally started calling in advance a few months ago. THREE times in the past 2 months, I cal and they come on. I come and they say they aren't taking clients. I'd rather pay more money for consistency. But if you don't mind the run around and frustration half the time, decent service for a cheap price.

The space is very nice and serves various purposes. The inside downstairs has an industrial feel and the up stairs has a more administrative feel. The facility is named Augusta's own famed Opera singer, Jessye Norman. If you ever get a chance to visit for an event or for a youth camp, please do so.

The course is like most courses with online videos, skills checkoff, and a test at the end. You get your online card the same day you complete the course (course runs 3 hours). There is a certificate and wallet size card you can print out. The course here is very cheap than what Atlanta has to offer (59$ vs 89$). There are a variety of classes offered here. I took the in-person 3 hour session, but they do offer a hybrid course where you have an online portion and come in for the skills checkoff. They offer certifications in Heartsaver CPR/AED, BLS, and First Aid. Essentially they work for you and all your needs in the healthcare world. I recommend all should learn CPR in order to equip yourself to helping those you love. This course is approved by the American Heart Association which is the umbrella organization that runs the show not Red Blood Cross. As a future healthcare professional and also a nursing student from Augusta University, this place got me. Good vibes, amazing instructor, would definitely recommend this place to all and hopefully come back for one more certification before life takes me to other places.
