Ken at Audio Nexus has always been extremely fair, super knowledgeable and always reasonable. He has repaired my GK bass head twice over the last 12 years after I rattle the heck out of it. I recently purchased an Ampeg head that was toast and in need of repair. It turned out the head could not be repaired even after Ken took pieces from a donor amp that he had. Fast forward 3 weeks later after I couldn't sell it for parts and I ended up finding the main board new from Ampeg. Ken agreed to swap it out and also replaced the preamp tubes which were toast as well. This long winded story is an example of Ken's persistence and dedication to help his customers. I have a Mid-80's stereo amp, stopped making sound. I brought it to audio Nexus, explained the noise / issues I had experienced, and paid the fee to inspect. Agreed to price of another $150-200. 3 weeks later, I am informed it's not worth fixing. I make arrangements to drive back to get it, and he made several comments about the dead / and victim... I send out a few emails and am directed to Approved Audio Service in Litchfield. I call, and drive up with same amp (it now also needs a power cord from ?) Give the guy $50 this time. Two days later he calls and says repairs plus the cord another $250. I say fix it! This semi vintage amp broken sold this week on Ebay for $150. I have complete confidence in this repair based on the shop and individual. I will review him when I stretch my speakers with it. read more

I had a pretty small electronics repair to be done, and Ken did it marvelously, and quickly. He is 'old school', and that is a big compliment. I was having trouble with my surround sound receiver about a week ago and took it in to see if Ken knew what the problem was? When I would turn it on it kept shutting off. Well Ken plugged it in and it worked fine. Then he took the time to hook it up to speakers and again it worked fine. I told him my home was haunted and the spirits may be doing something to it. When I usually tell people about my home being haunted a good majority fo them think I'm looney tunes....but not Ken. He said well I live in a haunted house too....so I know what you mean. Was good to speak with someone that knew what I was going through. I asked him if I owed him anything for checking the receiver out and he said no. He said if you have any other issues please bring it back in. I'd also like to say the lady he has working in the store is very nice too. If I could give Audio Nexus a 10 star I would. Excellent amp tech. If you have vintage guitar amps, he's one of the few in the area that can restore and get the most out of your tube equipment. Also does repairs on keyboards, PA's, organs, etc. Great resource for recording studios especially. read more

Just picked up my turntable which I dropped off in early November. When I dropped it off I was told that the tone arm should be replaced and that it was worth fixing. Around Christmas time I called to see if it was ready and was told that the part was ordered and he was waiting for it to arrive. Supply chains have been disrupted so I understood the delay and was happy that everything was in progress. Called back in February and it was like it was the first time I had spoken to hm. This time he told me that the part was not available but he would try to repair it without a replacement part. On Saturday I went to the store where again he could not recall the turntable until I provided the receipt for the $40 fee. He explained that he had broken the stylus removing it and had it in pieces for me. Completely unapologetic and unwilling to refund the charge I left with my turntable which now needs a stylus as well as a tone arm. All in all not a good experience here. read more

I took my PA to Ken at Audio Nexus after I had taken it at another shop where they were unable to pinpoint or fix the problem. I am really impressed with Ken at Audio Nexus. He took the time to research and pinpoint a tiny component that was causing the problem. I can tell you that I recommend this shop one hundred percent, on top of the time he spent taking care of the problem, the cost of repair was very reasonable. I recommend you stay as far away from Ken as you can. He is not honest. Marked up the price on a speaker in excess of suggested retail without disclosure. He forgot that I could check the price; when he was challenged he acted indignant. Bad dude, stay away. read more
