Very nice work and the tint man Richard was very knowledgeable (laws pertaining tint levels) ( he will do what you want after explaining) and uses high end tint not that cheap stuff that has permanent bubbles etc. when I get my new challenger definitely coming back! read more

Another unsatisfied customer of Audio FX. I also wish I had read these reviews before using them. I brought them my vehicle and got a quote for $150 to install a new high-end stereo. They did a terrible job and the new stereo doesn't sit flush in the dash. Also, they BROKE my old stereo when removing. It also was a high-end stereo with nothing at all wrong with it, I was just upgrading to a newer model. They also badly scratched the top of my dash somehow during installation. To add insult to injury, they attempted to charge me $250 instead of the $150 that was quoted. I see Sean has responded to my review saying I reviewed the wrong place. I am a single female. I went into audio fx and purchased a dvd deck and made an appt for the installation later that day. the manager told me it would cost me an extra 125 ontop of the 320 I payed for the dvd/stereo. when I told him I couldn't afford that he told me he doesn't do cash refunds. I hadn't even touched the deck. he didn't even open the box. he treated me very disrespectfully, and talked down on me. he would not return my calls and then threatened me if I didn't stop calling him. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNRELIABLE. THEY HAVE NO PROFESSIONAL BUSINESS SENSE AND NO MANNERS. I went to these guys on time crunch needing to replace some speakers I had blown out and they were great! Although it was on the higher end of my budget, I anticipated that if I wanted good sound from quality speakers and fast installation then I have to be ready to pay a bit more. They were very friendly and knowledgeable and had a good selection of quality speakers. So far I am happy with the clear sound and I hope it lasts with no issues as others have mentioned. It appears their issues are specific to the stereo and alarm systems. For just speakers, this is a good local shop to check out. read more

Buyer beware! This is the most unscrupulous stereo store in Oregon, possibly the US. First we came to them because we like to support small businesses, but here it's a rip off. We asked for a specific kind of stereo with a bluetooth, and I-pod hook up in the rear for glove box storage. We told them where to place the blue tooth microphone. Everything was done wrong! The microphone was place next to the window, (duh) there was no hook up for the I-pod in the rear, you had to plug it in from the front. So we asked them to change it and the refused so we had them take it out. The next day the owner called and asked us to to work it out, he promised us satisfaction. So we went back and had them place the stereo back in. BIG MISTAKE! It seemed they did everything to our satisfaction, but in the next couple of days we noticed the bluetooth didn't work right, several attempts had to be made to get call to go through. in the middle of a call you could hear the party your speaking to but they could not hear you. Making a call became so frustrating. The I-pod plug in in the rear worked but you could not control it from the stereo face, you had to pull the I-pod out of the glove box and unplug it to change a song. Dangerous while your driving, and damn inconvenient. So we called and told the owner (Clay) and told him about the problems, he responded that he'd investigate the stereo and see what features we were suppose to have and get back with us. No! Never happen, I called him about 8 times and he would never take another call from me or return a call. So in the end we replaced the stereo at Best Buy,( I hate Best Buy) but we got a better deal, better customer service, and a stereo that does what we want. In Oregon it is important to have a bluetooth capability because it is against the law to used a hand held cell phone. The ones with the built in microphone sound like your talking through a drum. SO we were very specific about what we wanted through experience of other stereos, and Car Toys is a joke, worked by a bunch of dumb ass frat boys. In Audio FX they have a sign on the wall that says no returns, they also mean if they screw it up they will not fix it. As anyone knows sometimes it takes several days for you find if everything works for you properly. In Best Buy we had the option to return in within a period of time and we got a year guarantee, with option to purchase a longer guarantee. There is a 15% restocking fee, and that is Bullshit, but it better than no return policy. SO BUYER BEWARE AUDIO FX IS A RIP OFF ARTIST. Be especially cautious of a salesman named Steve, he will promise you the world, then give you a rock. I mean think about how stupid it is to place a microphone next to the window? So that tells you the stereo installer is incompetent. We specifically told them we wanted it next to the rear view mirror. Their excuse was they didn't have enough wire, but when we had then take it out the first time, we saw they has a good 15 feet rolled up inside the dash board. So go somewhere else where the work and the stereo is guaranteed. Shop around and be sure all the options you want are in good working order. In fairness I have to say I was surprised by Best Buy in that they gave us I-pod hooks and microphone without charge. Everywhere else charge $50.00 and up. I want to add the owners response is an out right lie. He resisted any efforts to work out the problems. I have one experience at this shop so this is my first impression. I highly recommend supporting this business because the hard workin' folks here are not only excellent at what they do but they were extremely caring and kind. I watched a young boy walk in while I was waiting for my stereo to be fixed who was hungry and having issues at home. One of the gentleman went and bought the young man lunch. He also noticed that my front finder was loose and recommended a body shop to me. Very grateful for him noticing that and taking the time to tell me. I also spoke with the young man behind the counter and through conversation he shared with me some of his the personal efforts in his part he's doing to take care of the local community. DON'T VER GO HERE, HORRIBLE BUSINESS! UNPROFESSIONAL TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I think this is my second review in 2 years because I'm not big into reviews but this place is the worst! It needs a review to stop potential buyers from going there and having the exp I had. I brought my car in at noon for a speaker install, the guy told me no problem and it would be ready in 3-4 hours. It was pouring rain and I had no ride and but didn't want to wait around for 4 hours, They don't even have a chair to sit on so I told the guy I had to walk home so I did all 3 miles soaking wet. I called at 2pm to check up on it and he now said it would be ready at 6 not 4:00pm, I was annoyed but ok, I called back 30 mins later and said I know this is a new car is there a problem why will it be ready later? He said "were just busy but it's in the shop were working on it". 6:00 pm comes I take the bus back to the shop get there at 6:05 and saw the car never moved from the parking spot from noon. They never brought it in to work on nor did they call me to tell me it was running late nothing. What a joke, I gave them 6 hours to hook up one speaker for $300 and couldn't get neither the job done nor could they be honest or provide good customer service and update me of the situation. read more

This is not a local business to support. The sales staff pulls out all the stops to keep you in the store. I actually felt sorry for these guys and bought a stereo. Then after they took out my stereo they added on 150.00 for the satellite, claiming my old satellite was not compatible. I just wanted out. So I went along with them. Then I found a notebook an employee had left in my car, that had sales strategies jotted down. The phrase "isolate and overcome" stood out. These guys don't care about the product they sell or the customer, especially women. Please, save yourself from a sickening experience. THIEF'S!!! AVOID AT ALL COST!!! I wish I could give negative stars but that is not possible. I had a deck installed in my girlfriends Nissan Juke and decided to hook up the steering wheel controls as well. The deck was installed with no issues but the steering wheel controls would not work. The installer said he could contact someone who could walk him through on the wiring to make them work. We agreed to this and brought back the car the following weekend when the installer would be able to talk to the person who could help him do the install. After the installer spent a few hours trying to hook them up it turns out it wasn't possible. We went to pick up the car and appreciated the installer made the best effort to install the steering wheel controls. We paid for services up front with cash when the deck was installed so we wanted the $85 dollars back for the install that was not completed. He said they don't carry that much cash on hand so the owner would have to send a check for the amount. I gave him my address and went on my way. After waiting a while I contacted them about the check and they said it was mailed. I wait some more and called again and they said it was mailed. I waited some more and called back to find out they said the check was returned in the mail. I once again gave them my address and low and behold I wait some more and still no check. I think they are simply refusing to refund me my money and hoping I will stop pestering them about it. Well guess what, I don't give up that easy and know how to file complaints with the better business bureau. read more

Horrible service there was a miscommunication on the details of the work getting done on my car. They did nothing at all to try to apologize or fix the problem instead they will hang up on the customer to try avoid discussing a solution they gave me a run around for over 24 hours told me to bring back my car then on my way back they said never mind it cant be done today because its too late. They are more worried about closing the door to customer and not dealing with business than they are about running a successful business. I got a car alarm and keyless entry system installed in my car by Audio-FX. I bought my car off of Craigslist and the key it came with only worked for the ignition (it was a salvage title and the door locks had been replaced). It took them just over an hour to install it and they showed me how it worked and how to use it when they were done. They were very friendly, but they pushed me to purchase pricey add-on's like a remote start or a kill start. I have had absolutely no problems with the system since its installation a few months ago. They are definitely the cheapest in Portland if you are looking for this type of thing, I called several other places for quotes and they were all through the roof. They are knowledgeable about their products and were able to give us all the info we needed, without making us feel like we were intruding on their conversations. The "salesguy" Shane is so personable and made us feel like family. Then there is Juan and Mike, just as awesome. It's great to walk away from a sale feeling good about the purchase, rather than feeling like you just got dooped. I've always been treated right by the folks at Audio FX. They installed a power antenna in my '98 Pontiac Bonneville, and after a few weeks, the thing wouldn't retract properly. They happily installed a brand new antenna, no questions asked. Just recently, they installed a GM PasskKey Bypass module-- my car wasn't starting every time, as the module had gone bad, and a dealer will charge at least $1000 to remove and replace the ignition, key and anti-theft module. Now, for a labor charge of $143, my car starts up every time- good job, William! read more
