I called the store and asked if I could get my GPS bypass wire harness installed there because I was tired of waiting at the (Broadway) location they where very professional very polite and concerned about my issue. I recently brought my truck in to get a stereo and 4 speakers installed, which I paid for in advance, however I received a call saying that I would need to pay for an additional part that they weren't aware they needed. My truck is 17 years old at this point, so I would assume this part was known to be necessary by now. Also, if I had been notified of the additional part being necessary prior to it's installation I probably would have gladly paid for it. But they decided to install said part and just expected me to pay for it after the fact. I realize that this could have just been an oversight, but why should I be responsible for paying for this? It feels like a known additional part just got conveniently overlooked hoping to just squeeze a few more dollars out of a customer. Make sure you do your research and know essentially what you need before you go in, because the staff just wants to sell you as much product as possible. The only positive thing I can say is that the sale on the hardware was pretty good and I feel like I got a good deal in that respect. read more

I've used Audio Express enough to know that each shop is different.... This review is for this shop specifically... Very Dishonorable people work here. I brought in a set up for my 2017 RAM that was removed from my 2019 RAM and they blew up my 2 10" Kicker Comps and blamed me for it. I had the truck back for 20 minutes of enjoyment before the speakers started smoking and nearly catching the box on fire. Bring it back to them only for them to tell me that someone between leaving their shop and pulling into my driveway somehow climbed into my truck and fiddled with the knobs. Mind you they also installed the amp in a position that you could not even remotely get to for attempting any on the fly adjusting. The people in this shop are as lousy as their unkept sign and curb appeal. Cowards to Accountbility and owning up to their mistakes. Trust me I understand that mistakes happen and would have happily helped accommodate any adjustments, but they ademently were calling me liar because of their lousy work before we could even get to an understanding. Just to add insult to injury, they were going to pull the entire back seat of my mega cab because the professional technicians didn't know how to drop the seat down, and had to come ask me for help. A week ago, Saturday, I walked into Audio Express on N Oracle. A sales person and myself went through the displays. I picked out a Kenwood head unit, a pair of 6.5" Kickers, a mounting bracket and back up camera for my Tacoma. We made an appointment for installation for the next Saturday (today) at 10 AM. I waited a week! My wife and I cleared our calendars, so we could drop off the truck. Today, we both met at Audio Express to drop off the truck. When I went inside, I was asked "can I help you?" I said I have a 10 O'clock appointment. This was at 9:45. He asked who I spoke to. I said you. He said "we have a couple of big jobs today. You'll have to reschedule." I said, I made this appointment a week ago. If I have to reschedule, I'm not coming back here... it's up to you. He said "You'll have to reschedule." So I picked up my keys and walked out. I understand that things happen. But they should have called us before we drove 2 cars 16 miles each, across town just to be brushed off. I feel this treatment was totally rude and unprofessional. I messaged store 5004 about my stereo installed about 2 years ago in Chandler. Miguel set me up with an appointment and looked over the stereo but couldn't duplicate the issue of it changing modes instead of turning off, but of course it didn't duplicate the issue. I went inside to see how much it would be to install a subwoofer and amplifier. He showed me an all in one unit and with installation, was a price I was looking for. It took 3 hr, just like he had said and also the stereo was "bad". He gave me the $20 credit since I didn't use the warranty in the first year and I decided to just keep the stereo, since it was a minor annoyance for having a nice alpine stereo with a cd player they didn't have in stock and would cost too much for me to replace. The guys working there were polite and helpful! Miguel helped me put my windshield sticker on too. Now I'm so ecstatic about the looks and sound of my beautiful car! Took my truck there on April 26th this wasn't the first time I've been here but definitely the last. I reversed my truck in to a parking spot walked in for a ground noise they said they would take care of it they ended up calling and telling me that the gain on my amp was up to high and I was over charged 110$ when they told me the amp tuning was 30$ when I went to pick the truck up this is how it was. I had a backup camera that was on the blink, and asked if they could repair it. I was told they needed to order a part, and paid for it. They called a few days later, and said they had the part, and that I could drop it off the next day. I did. Several hours later, they called and said the car was ready. When I went to pick it up they handed me a bill for over $1000 dollar. I tried to install my new Android radio myself and it worked but it was acting kind of wonky so I took it to Audio Express to professionally install it. When I picked it up, it was working okay but pretty much the same as when I installed it. I drove over a pothole on my way home and the radio straight fell out of its harness onto my gear shifter and changed the gears. Outside of doing such a poor job that it almost killed me on my way home, these guys were super friendly. Went here the other day, besides spending $600 dollars instead of the average $200 they originally quoted me on. Everything was put in correct, I understand labor is gonna be quite a bit of work, but I would've liked to of known how much it was gonna be from the very start. When I walked in they didn't seem very friendly but the worker I was talking to was very accommodating and polite. They also said it would take about 1-3hrs AT MOST. They kept my truck up until 4:30 in the afternoon, taking about 6hrs when I had work that same day. (I was the first one in line getting my truck worked on). Just found out that the quality team that used to be at the River/Oracle location was transferred to Broadway. The guy (Miguel) who replaced Mike at River/Oracle is abrupt and lacks any reasonable degree of courtesy, whatsoever. When I mentioned that I have been a long term AE customer his answer was "I'm not Mike, and you can take your business to the other store." I was stunned, and very much at the mercy of my schedule, and this guy's piss poor attitude. An install that would have taken 15 minutes with the old team took over two hours, in no small part because three of them sat in the office watching TV all morning. Very poor value for the cost. Wiring a radar detector that I bought from AE in the first place, into my second car should have cost less than $100, including the wire. Not $250! If I was the owner of this business I'd be cleaning house. I've also used the Specialist on Speedway with inconsistent results, but they were never rude. I showed up at 845, Tito the manager arrived at 9:15 to unlock the doors. At 2:45 pm they called to let me know they cant get the work done. Forgot about trying to contact anyone. When I came in, my fiancé and I were told the work would take about an hour. We came back an hour and a half later (around 3pm) and were told there were two cars in queue and mine hadn't got started on. I made plans around the one hour estimate & I wish I was called to be advised it was going to take longer than expected. They close at 7 so I left my car overnight since we couldn't get back in time. We came back the next day and they were just finishing up which was about another 20 minutes . They were supposed to fix the speaker on the inside of the door in the car cabin. They fixed the speaker but broke the paneling and locking mechanism. We purchased a back up camera from Best Buy and had it installed by a friend. After several failed attempts to get the camera to work, we took our car to Audio Express to have them look at it. Antonio was very professional and helpful. He was able to get us in that day to look at it. After an hour they found the problem with the unit, which was beyond repair. They showed us the problem and Antonio recommended a new unit for our vehicle. We purchased it and they stayed late to install it for us because we were going out of town the next day. Had an issue today. They have their policy first come first serve. That wasn't the case though what it really is. They will help you as fast as they can sell you. In other words if they can print your ticket up your car gets to go in there first. Or as I was explained sometimes there's people that come in that I already have tickets. Anyways that should be explained under the first come first serve because, they've never taken appointments and that was the case before Covid(i've been a customer since 1996). Long story short this exact store lacks professionalism, communication, and general knowledge. Wasted six whole hours of my time in which I'm a working service member who can't afford to be without my vehicle for unforeseen times. Do not come here for anything because they will push their product and unnecessarily flex very biased knowledge to make you spend more. Funny thing is that I'm a mechanical engineer who has been installing parts and working on cars, Diesel engines, electrical systems, etc. for years now. More on why I'm HIGHLY unsatisfied with their service below. I needed a dash cam installed on my vehicle so I came to this specific store on Oracle. I contacted the assistant manager, Miguel, in advance to see if installing an aftermarket 3-Way dash cam would be possible and if I could set a specific time to come in. I was told 0930 would work, so I brought in my vehicle and camera to complete the installation. I asked beforehand do they want the product's owner manual or weblink so that they can know what they are working with and they told me no. Weird. When I arrived I was immediately asked if I wanted to buy one of their Kenwood series cameras there before I was even asked about the $200+ camera in my hands. I was then told it wouldn't get worked on until later that day even after I called in advance earlier that week. Around 1300, they finally called me to see if I wanted to install the INSIDE rear camera on the OUTSIDE of the vehicle even after I explained in full detail what I wanted 5 hours earlier that day. I was also told I was "missing a screw" in which I didn't need one since all you need is literally a piece of 3M adhesion tape holding it to the windshield. I would of literally came back to a rear dash camera in the place of my backup camera when I already had one there stock and I DID NOT request that to be completed. I was also told that the front camera wouldn't stick to the windshield due to the tint and AZ heat and that they couldn't install due to previous issues with other customers, 6 HOURS after I dropped it off. After that I was asked if I wanted to buy their camera equipment once again and I told them no for the upteenth time. After all was said and done the installation was not completed and my time was wasted. All of this blatant mishandling of a customer's time and patience could of been avoided with a simple conversation. read more
