Trenton and Josh, responsible for maintenance, are also great and are ready to help. At first, we had some minor issues because, as with any brand-new building, things are being adjusted, but nothing extraordinary that would make me think badly about it. I can see the entire team's effort in providing a high-quality residence for us. (Keep in mind that The Ithacan was finished in 2023, and I was one of the first residents). The building has been running perfectly! The apartments are beautiful (without carpet ) and with stainless steel appliances. Also, there is an in-unit laundry and dryer machine. I recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, well-located place. The facilities, such as the rooftop, entrance with a coffee machine and work tables, gym, and the mezzanine with four conference rooms, are fantastic. It is definitely an excellent place for students and professionals who need a peaceful environment. As a master's student with a lot of reading and work to do, the available spaces, which allow me to switch work spots, have been handy. Apart from all of that, the building is conveniently located a 1-minute walk from a bus stop, which is especially helpful for those going to Cornell. Furthermore, there is an entrance from the Commons, providing proximity to downtown amenities such as restaurants, convenience stores, local shops, and coffee shops. Bonus: The Ithacan smells great, and it is very clean -from time to time, there are events run by the administration, such as barbecues, wine tasting, and breakfasts. I have enjoyed my stay in Ithaca, and I know that a fundamental aspect of it was due to the quality of my housing. (This is NOT a paid testimonial. Hahah I know it's long, but I am thankful for my experience and wish I had this when I arrived).

The apartments are nice (even though they may age poorly and the furniture is super uncomfortable, esp the couch), the gym is great (peloton!), and, most important, the staff is really accommodating and professional. Sam is a great manager and seems to have it all under control. Jay is really nice and Kevin is so pro about keeping everything in line. Howard is really friendly and helpful too with the maintenance. They were all pros about managing what was a very unfortunate construction situation. So, after a bad start, a nice place to live!

I've purchased bus tickets here and tried their shipping service. There's not much to say about the…read morebus tickets - they have all the information there and can provide you the schedules. It's a pretty convenient location right in Collegetown to get your bus tickets when you need to get out of Ithaca. They advertise their shipping as the cheapest in town. They use FedEx for their shipping. Be warned, if you use the FedEx rate estimator online, you're not gonna get anything close to what they actually charge you here. My rate ended up being about twice what the FedEx estimator told me. Some of the people here may not be totally professional either. One time when I was in here to use the Bank of America ATM, one of the employees took money out of the cash register because he got a parking ticket, and then also took some quarters so that he could feed his meter.

Among other things, Student Agencies runs a bus service to Boston, Philadelphia, etc…read more Now, most of the time, this bus service is predictably mediocre at best. The drivers are a bit grumpy and the bus is a bit uncomfortable but like, that's normal. And then there was Today. The bus to end all buses. First, it was 3 hours late. To be fair the temperatures were 7* out today but still, if you're not going to arrive for 1:30 don't send me an email AT 1:30 telling me that "oh it's not working.... eh maybe 2:30" and then send ANOTHER email at 2:30 saying "oh still not working.... eh maybe 3:30" etc until the bus doesn't leave until 4:45. There was absolutely zero response to any customer emails or phone calls at this time, except some platitude about "oh sorry we haven't heard any other complaints yet." Uh huh. Once the buses actually arrived (LATE), the drivers abandoned all sense of propriety and basically just told the students to shove their suitcases in wherever, and hope for the best. This meant several students were frantically searching for seats in the last minute and couldn't get their suitcases in the same bus as themselves. We ride in the bus. It's fine, I guess. Normal. And then, about 10 minutes out from Cornell, the traction (which apparently had been giving errors, and no one paid any attention to) gave out on our bus, and the gear got stuck going up a hill. Mind you, this is about 11:45 PM, it's snowy out, and it's about 7 degrees. We're told "eh we don't know what the problem is, deal with it, we'll get someone to move the kids at some point". At this point I'm exhausted and done, so I ask to leave. Once the other bus arrives, I can, because the driver needs someone to watch the bus (fair enough). But the icing on top of this HORRIBLE cake was that the other bus driver had the audacity to come over and ask me what the hell I was doing getting my suitcase out the bottom of the trunk, and to tell me to "piss off" when I told her to leave me alone, I was bailing because I was exhausted and just wanted to go home. She basically started yelling nonsense at me until I walked away from her to meet a taxi at the bottom of the street. God knows how long it took the other kids to get home. Moral of the story: Student Agencies buses are okay normally, but during any kind of problem their communication completely breaks down, their professionalism goes out the window, and generally one gets the impression that they basically give zero fucks about you or anyone else. Given that this bus is about $50 to $100 more than a competitor's bus to Boston would be, honestly you're probably better off switching.

This is a very challenging time to buy a house and though the financial parameters for the IHNS program can be limiting, they are changing the lives of some people who would otherwise not be able to purchase a home without their help. In addition, the education department at INHS provides a fantastic program open to ANYONE. The class offers a solid foundation of knowledge about purchasing a first home. I've had so many buyers come to me from the INHS Homebuyer program and they are better prepared, more confident, and less intimidated by the process. I recommend it to everyone. Within the parameters of what is allowed by their funders and donors, I believe INHS does the best they can with what they have and they are an important part of increasing housing equity in our community.

Also i asked for an extra week to give notice on moving out or not but three response i received was that they have people who want my apartment (in 3 months) and they can't wait for an answer (when they clearly can fill the spot). Consistently send out memos that they are there to help with rent but when you email them asking for help in how to adjust pay, they don't answer. If they did, i would have saved $40 like they offered to help by waiting credit card fees, but it wasn't waived and they didn't address me. There also are dogs on the lower apartments that are left outside all day and come up to you as you're trying to come in the door. They need to stay at their own apartment. I didn't sign up for dogs trying to get what I'm carrying into the building. There also are 2 cars left in the parking lot without plates or registration and it looks shady like people use the parking lot for storage without officially paying for spots monthly

Pam was not in the office. I believe Grant also quit that year. This is news to me that someone came by to fix the window and that his name was Jody. Grant told me when I came by to say the money was missing that no one came by to fix the window. I never lied about when I went to the office about the missing money. It sounds like the office staff changed it up differently. I'm obviously not accusing Pam of the theft, but they do not do a good job of hiring or managing the staff and what happened happened. Unfortunately, I experienced a theft in their apartment and the staff were able to cover it up.

However…read morefor me and 5 of my friends we rented a house for 2yrs from 2016-2018 and had absolutely 0 negative interactions. The house was great and the management and maintenance were very responsive. They upgraded the house mid-lease with new wall art and a new couch unprompted. All interactions I had were very professional and I would definitely recommend them to a friend if they were looking for college housing.
