STAY AWAY !!!!! I just moved my daughter out and it wasn't soon enough! The model they show you on the tour IS NOT WHAT YOU WILL GET. After you sign the lease and are ready to move in, you're stuck. When we moved her in last August, her apartment was disgusting filthy and I and at least a dozen other parents were lined up to complain. Management and ownership didn't care much at all, because they knew it would be too late for students to look elsewhere to live. We, the parents had to clean the rooms!!!! Their on-site management never answers the phone and the personnel change so frequently, no one knows what is going on. Poorly run facility that only cares about getting you to sign a lease and getting your money. They are charging premium rent for trash ! I personally, would not believe the so-called positive reviews that are on their website. It's their site! Do your kids and yourself a favor and find another place to stay!!! read more

INFESTED WITH COCKROACHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do. Not. Live. Here. University Lofts is run by blatantly unprofessional management (Specifically Taryn Jones, Emma Cruz, Silvia Jones, and Leah Noris). Management refused to address various issues for months which ultimately caused an apartment-wide cockroach infestation. Cockroaches were spotted and reported to management before the end of spring semester... and the problem only got WORSE by the beginning of fall semester. We were forced to drive up and visit Binghamton numerous times to even get an update on the situation since no calls or emails had been replied to by management. The apartment was worse every single visit we made. The exterminators and cleaning team were absolutely terrible and this was brought to their attention many times. The exterminators put down traps but then would leave them for months filled with roaches.... yet kept claiming the problem was getting 'better' but they had absolutely no proof of that since they were the same exact traps from the start. Management allowed for the problem to get so bad due to lack of experience, knowledge, and care. We were lied to many times, once being that the apartment was livable and we were able to move in, all for us to arrive and walk into an even more infested and disgusting room. Everything was taken out of the cupboards and recklessly thrown onto the couch and island counter, as well as plates and bowls with old rotten moldy food taken from the middle room of occupant that caused situation and were dumped onto counter to attract even more roaches. (see attachments) Management is the main problem here!! If they had addressed issues that had been brought to their attention MANY TIMES (email, in person, etc) from the very beginning, this situation would have NEVER escalated to this point. And even after new management was brought in half way through the infestation, it was not taken serious and blame was passed off to everyone but themselves. To add insult to injury this same management falsified legal documents and attempted to manipulate the online resident portal on multiple occasions. There are plenty of other residences in Binghamton run by a more professional management that actually cares about their residents and reputation! Also, be cautious from the start as their lies and manipulations begin in advertisement and sales tactics. Many of their apartments have rooms with no windows which residents are not aware of until move-in day. read more

Do not live here! Management is HORRIBLE. Maintenance requests, responses to emails, etc. take much too long to even be acknowledged. Emails often need to be re-sent multiple times in order to finally get a response. Workers at the front desk know little to nothing and more often than not cannot answer questions about the building or concerns about personal units. Information regarding payments and when they are due is barely given if at all, yet they will not hesitate to charge you a late fee. I have lived here for two years and signing again was definitely a mistake. The only reason I cannot give only one star is because it is very nice that each bedroom comes with its own bathroom. The rest of the unit as a whole can vary in terms of acceptability. Some units have plenty of cabinet space, while others have almost none (even for a unit with three bedrooms). The location of University Lofts is also quite convenient, and I have appreciated being in the center of downtown especially as a student. Overall, I would say you are MUCH better off spending a little more money somewhere else, or spending less and living on West Side. read more

Roach infested! Management ignored complaints for months. Has not done anything about cockroaches! Also, look at your room before signing your lease--no matter what the model apartment looks like, there's a good chance your bedroom won't have a window! My daughter lost a roommate over this deceptive practice, and the company rented to a random young woman who basically moved her boyfriend in and trashed the place. My daughter was forced to work as a housekeeper for someone who was destructive and kept her up all night partying. Managers ignored emails and when we finally got someone to answer we were lied to repeatedly about moving roommate, having cleaning done at her expense, and making sure no more freeloading. The company has allowed the kitchen to become unusable. The roaches are out of control. This is very disappointing, and frustrating because phone calls and emails are not answered. I have wasted so much time trying to contact the rotating cast of mangers who then just lie about addressing these issues. And maintenance requests are cancelled instead of fulfilled! Shame on them, just ripping off college kids. read more

STAY AWAY!!!! Just moved in for the school year. Management LIED. It's like living in a jail cell. NO windows it smells bugs rugs should be cleaned or pulled up. Who has rugs in a place people are constantly moving in and out....and place was filthy when I moved in. TV doesn't work I have called and left messages everyday and no one cares, I was lied to about where I was living because they showed me an apartment with windows and I have none....... it's so dark I went out and bought lights so I can see to do hw and all the bugs! It's very sad they can do this to kids in college and they get away with it. Just giving you a heads up if your thinking about this place. Think again read more

We were told that all the functions and services would be running by the time we moved in. Seven months later, we are still missing many of those services and the ones that have been installed were late, and of poor quality. The location is fine, if you're a male. The bars are close, and there's a reasonable amount of food places nearby. However, every female friend I have who's walked over has been cat called/ harassed. I would recommend Twin Rivers, UP and Hawley over Ulofts. read more

University Lofts is the perfect location for living off campus in Binghamton. It is only a ten minute drive away from campus however there are also city buses and campus buses that run pretty frequently if you don't have a car. It's a ten second walk from the nightlife in Binghamton and is very accessible to the different restaurants downtown. In addition, there are a plentiful amount of amenities including a gym, a tanning salon, and a workplace to do homework/study. Although I had a few problems with maintenance in the beginning of the semester , the staff has changed and has become a lot more reliable. read more

University lofts has a great location. It is right next to the bus terminal for the city, very close to campus bus stops, and a block away from the bars and restaurants that make up the heart of downtown Binghamton. Every resident has their own bedroom and bathroom, and each apartment unit has it's own washer and dryer. There is also a nice gym that is included in rent. I have lived here for two years and am overall quite happy with my decision. Management does need to be improved and certain maintenance requests take much longer than others to be taken care of. University lofts is by no means perfect, but it has charm and is an affordable place to make a temporary home in downtown Binghamton. read more

overpriced place with terrible administration. you deal with kids as admins who know nothing. the regional manager comes to office once a week, she doesn't take calls and leave.. the only way to talk to the manager is to catch her in the building, if you are lucky. read more
