Very disorganized. They really need to have a team meeting or something to get everyone on the same page. My daughter had to miss the recital because she was ill and it took months to get her costume. Every time I called, I was told that the owner would call me back. This didn't happen, so I decided to send email so that I had proof. I just wanted a costume that I paid over $100 for! When the owner finally contaxted me, I was told that everything from the recital was still in a trailer or attic and they needed to go through it. Hmmmm ok. It took MONTHS before they finally had the costume for me. So ridiculous. I should also mention that the Puyallup location I so gross! Dirty facility. Parents let their babies and toddlers run all over the place and leave trash. I couldn't believe it. No one asks them to be polite and stop talking inappropriately and loudly. It smells like dirty diapers. "Regulars" are dropped off and treat the facility like a dumpster. Yuck. Classes always started late as well. read more

Where are the "0 star" or even negative reviews. I am not going to say much, other than I just read through the negative reviews below and very much agree with what everyone said. The positive reviews must be from people who haven't been there long or something. My daughter danced there for 4 years and she loved it except for the last year and a half, which luckily was Covid so she had an easy way out. She was tired of being bullied and yelled at by coaches the owner. If you think I'm kidding, read the reviews below. This is not how our children should be treated. In addition to the unorganization, the "business model" is brilliant, for the owners, not the customer. I would give zero stars, if that was an option. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, understandably, all classes were canceled. Over the last two weeks we have called and emailed to find out what we needed to do to cancel our monthly payments on a class our daughter was enrolled in that was no longer in session. No contact by the instructors or owner were EVER received. We found out from another family, also enrolled in class, that Auburn Dance Academy had automatically enrolled everyone into "online dance classes". This was not a clause in the initial signup contract and no communication, prior to this collective decision being made by the Academy or their leadership, was ever made. After two weeks of no communication from Auburn Dance Academy, or not returning phone calls, we contacted our bank to stop payment on a recital and dance classes that were no longer being provided. Within two hours of the stop payment being processed by our bank my wife received a phone call from the owner of Auburn Dance Academy inquiring about the reason for the stop payment. We explained that our daughter had attended two of four classes this month and through no fault of our own (or Auburn Dance Academy) we were inquiring about a refund for no services rendered (two classes and a recital "nonconduct"). Initially, the response was no as they offer online classes (so does YouTube and TicTok). Still awaiting a final response. Apparently money is more important than customer service at Auburn Dance Academy! I understand completely that a "customer is always right" approach to business is problematic in today's society of scam artists, hustlers, swindlers, bootleggers, etc. but just exercising some compassion and common sense goes a long way...especially considering these are trying times for EVERYONE and not just business owners! read more

Auburn dance academy is great for kids and adults you meet lots of new people and train professional. Comp and recreational dance is amazing no one is treated differently then one and another. People from all backgrounds can join!!!! read more

I was going to leave this place alone and not give them any review, until today...when we were charged yet again for another month when we've removed our daughter from their programs back in March. Awful, AWFUL place! We decided to give them a trial run back in January for our then 7yo who took a singing class and jazz class. From the moment we stepped in there we should have said "forget it!". Facility:The place is trash. The students on Friday nights treat the place like it's their home (and probably is, as parents drop them off to go enjoy an evening out for themselves, I'm sure). They totally disrespect the place by leaving their belongings, trash and food all over the tables in the break room. Crumbs for days. Off to the side of the tables is always an overflowing trash can that just reeks of days old garbage. The floors are completely filthy throughout the facility. The parents just let their toddlers run amuck all over the place so it forever smells like rotting garbage and dirty diapers. You will leave there feeling dirty and wanting to take about 10 showers. Not understanding why the big room in the very front is reserved for private lessons when the jazz teacher is teaching 10 kids in a tiny space next to the break room. There is barely any room for the kids to dance. The whole set up doesn't make sense. Staff: reception is awesome. The jazz teacher miss Jessie was awesome but spent a big chunk of the time yelling at the rowdy students when she should have just kicked them out of class. The singing teacher wouldn't make it in for whatever reason and then we parents of the class wouldn't be notified so we would get our girl ready to go to a class that wasn't happening. They would make the jazz teacher have the singing students join her already crowded class. Terribly unorganized and no communication.The man owner couldn't give a flip about the reasons why we withdrew from the program but sure as hell was going to keep charging our credit card! They charged us for April, May, and June after we already withdrew in March. About how many times does it take to get that straightened out to where a former customer is no longer charged? Maybe 3x is the charm. GET IT TOGETHER ADA. I don't recommend this place at all. Save your money for a facility that truly takes their classes and paying students seriously. read more

You want your kid here! My daughter does jazz here and there is no other better instructor than Miss Jessica. She also does tap and it's wonderful too. I cannot say enough about the program here and our family has done performing arts around the valley so I have much to compare. The classes are small enough with a good ratio of instructors to allow personal attention plus there are a lot of different classes to choose from. The only thing that annoys me sometimes is the parking situation. read more

Have you ever seen dance mom's? Have you ever seen Scarface? This place is a great place for KIDS to dance. This is not a good place for parents. 96 percent of them are brown nosing fake arse liers. 3 percent make up the owners and staff. The last 1 percent are the parents who don't fall for ADA traps and are actually decent human beings. The staff only care about making as much money off you as they possibly can. Be sick too many times...fine Show up sick...fine Don't like kissing butt...fine (Unless you constantly brown nose the owners) Friendly advice...enroll your kid for dance..drop them off for class..then wait in your vehicle until your kid is done. Puyallup location is conveniently off 139th & Meridian. It's a positive experience for rec dance, and like all studios, their focus is more so with competition teams, but they are kind to rec families. Teachers are talented and my kiddo enjoys class. Wish recital location could rotate to Puyallup occasionally (always held in Auburn). Recitals are excellent musical productions that include singing, very Broadway-esque. While not perfect, definitely recommended. read more

This dance academy seemed to be unorganized. We got to the studio a little early since it was my daughters first day. The sign says they open at 4:00 but they didn't open until 4:10. My daughters class was suppose to start at 4:15 but it took about 10-15 minutes before someone acknowledged me. Some of the kids in the class were really disruptive, and I noticed the instructor had difficulty keeping the kids on task. The floors were really dirty and so was the waiting area. My daughter enjoyed the class. read more

I grew up dancing here and now both of my girls dance here. You don't walk in feeling like a stranger, everyone is so nice and welcoming. You and your kids are treated like family. My kids are both little and they always feel so special when all the older kids great them and make them feel included. I especially like that there is also a snack shack where they can re-fuel between classes, a lunch room and a homework room. read more

My daughter absolutely loves this dance studio (as do I). The owners are very friendly and professional and make you feel right at home. And I can't say enough great things about the dance teachers. They are simply amazing. Very positive and encouraging. We were at a different studio for 6 years and weren't fully happy there so we researched, did trial classes and decided to join ADA. My daughter has improved so much in the short time she's been there. Best decision ever. I only wish we would have done it years ago! read more

Teachers are wonderful, instruction is high quality! There is a man who says he is a owner. He is very rude, saw him screaming at his employees one of the gals was crying. Not the first time I have seen him treat people badly. He yelled at some parents another time over wrong information and contuined to argue infront of a crowd. Very unprofessional. He is degrading to staff. He is not polite to the customers. He acts like he is better than everyone else and always right just because he is a owner. What ever happened to customer service? Other than him the place is great. I have two girls who dance here. They love it. At least he is not dealing with the children. read more

Worst dance studio since Michelle's Studio of Dance. Recitals scheduled late on a school night, very disorganized, continued to charge for classes after had cancelled one child's lessons for months, songs and costumes used were disappointing and sometimes lewd (bikini tops on 2nd graders and mentions of cocaine and heroine in songs). Competitive teams shown before the children with school the next morning. My daughter will never return to this over expensive heap of rubbish they pass for "dance". (most of the hip hop classes stood there looking like idiots too, wasn't just the lack of classic dance classes). I wasted my money but will not waste a penny more on this place. read more

This studio was great until I found out what they were doing and saying to the kids. They tell the kids that they are to fat, can't dance, discipline them by humiliating them. We pulled our child after hearing multiple complaints from other parents and the owners way of dealing with the issues is to turn the other way. My daughter dances at this studio and she absolutely loves it. By far it is the best studio around. I visited several different studios from Seattle to Auburn and found that while some studios have positive things there are some lacking. ADA is a complete package from friendly owners that truly care about my child to many different classes to accomadate our schedules. The other parents are very friendly and the kids were welcoming to my daughter. This studio has the largest amount of boy students in the area which is different but very nice to see the balance. The instructors are talented and really get to know all of their students. My daughter feels like she's part of a family because of all the extra team building activities that go on such as picnics, movie nights, games, etc. We just love it here so much and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a studio. read more

Like another reviewer, ADA is the complete package. Friendly & caring owners & staff. Parents are cheerful & positive. More of a laid back atmosphere. The a/c is wonderful! (no headaches or heat exhaustion for kids!) & the studios are large, organized, & clean. Parents-you get what you are paying for. Updated web site & great communication. This business is unorganized and has horrible conduct towards the dancers. They make condescending remarks to the children about their weight and abilities, tearing apart any confidence these kids have. Then they turn to the parents and blatently lie about it. They rip you off, overcharge and don't even tell you until you have been charged what fees will be. Then they go ahead and charge cards they don't even have authorization to charge. The more you look into this studio the more things you find wrong. Stay far away from this place. read more

Tried this studio for a few years now. Every year I said I'll see if it gets better. WRONG! Agree with the other reviews on this page. Most disorganized, last minute studios I have ever dealt with! Last minute planning for performances whereas most studios have that planned out a year in advance. Late night performances AND practices on a school night! Studio itself is not clean. Chairs and restrooms almost look like you are in a rest area. Which leads me to believe I doubt they clean their dance floors (which means your child is dancing and twirling on the unsanitary floors). If you are on the extreme team, your child is probably getting good lessons. However, if your child is just taking regular classes....the teachers don't really "teach" your child....just merely a come and watch and you learn dance. Disappointed that this studio became a huge disappointment and a waste of my child's dance experience. read more
