Deeper than I ever could have imagined…read more Narrow entrance off Howdershell starts with pavilion, medium sized playground, parking, restrooms (bring your own soap & towels). Then comes the "rolling" downhill to more parking, shade tree picnic area, nice pond surrounded by handicapped accessible pavilion and decks. The paved trail leads further back through the narrow band of woos between subdivisions till pavement ends. Then stay to the right and a nice flat trail starts for a little distance. Then "Grand Canyon" splits off to a rocky then muddy trail. Go the other direction and weeds end up taking over the trail. Back a paved trail- try the trail to the left- it goes downhill, but not nearly as step as "Grand Canyon" trail. But the trail becomes weedy after awhile.

This woodsy park actually sits amid subdivisions, but they're largely hidden by mature trees. By the time you wind your way down to the fishing lake in the back you might feel like you're a member of a private camp. On the way to the lake you'll pass a satisfactory but not large playground, picnic pavilion, restrooms, horseshoe pits, and rolling green space. There's also a paved walking track. The city's website lists volleyball amenities but I didn't see them. The fishing lake has a dock for disabled fishers. Missouri conservation department rules apply.

Very disappointing to see how this park is and has continued to go down. I had to stop taking my…read moredog to this park as he developed an infection and that was the only place he frequents in the morning besides sitting at home. The vet informed me to discontinue going there as it could be something on the ground, whatever it is it's unexplainable. I have to drive 25 min to go to tower grove park to walk my dog and it's very easy to go here. You can call the number listed which I have numerous times about having someone fill up the dog waste bags. this encourages those to pick up after their pet, if they don't see anything they will continue to do whatever. ( I know everyone is grown but I'm just assuming this is why) I also called about dog feces around in the walkway and of course it's up to the adult that has the dog but when I mentioned they assure me it's waste from ducks. Trash all over and if you viewed the pic now nothing will go in the water just stay around the sides. I'm not sure if they cannot see the fish or feel clean but I never saw anyone do anything about it. I'm not sure if they can but I'll say for this situation it wasn't always like this. I don't see anyone fishing since the water has turned and I'm saddened because you have a nice. Park but those that come and let their dogs waste wherever because they know no one is held accountable, trash and it's sad because it was a nice park to walk around once upon a time I do hope something can be done and if I can volunteer to help I will. One person calling and trying to help doesn't do justice, it takes more.

This park offers a nice playground, a water park, a bike/walking trail that goes around the lake and several benches. The parking can get a little scarce in the summer when the water park is open. This park is a gem in the middle of Ferguson.
