During normal times I like Aubuchon in general. I'm writing this in the middle of the COVID-19 fiasco. 5 out of 5 employees were NOT wearing their masks correctly. It's really not that &%#! hard. Some had it over only their mouth, one guy was using a bandana and kept touching it, and one guy had it hanging around his neck. I got the heck out of there as fast as possible with no browsing. I have someone at home who must not catch the Covid. In general I like Aubuchon because they have a good fastener and small hardware selection. Their prices aren't the best. If I have time I prefer Eastman's. read more

Dropped in at this Aubuchon Hardware after spending an afternoon packing a storage unit next door. We visited this store to purchase a lock for the unit and overall weren't impressed with the experience. I have been coming to this hardware store for a very long time and sadly nothing has really changed. The store is well stocked with items but what kills this shop is the customer service and the prices. The staff here is hard to track down and often seem frustrated with questions. Additionally, the last time we visited we had our propane tanks refilled but had to reenter the store because the staff forgot about us. The prices here are also a bit higher than other shop in town like Walmart or True Value. Typically I would mind if this was a "mom and pop shop", but this is a chain store. In the future we may drive the extra few minutes into town to shop at Walmart. read more

Guy in the paint department removed his mask to argue with me about masks not being effective. If you haven't had enough of the big lie, head over to Aubuchon for a dose from this guy. He told me he has medical journals at home that prove masks don't work. He'd have trouble reading a comic book or the side of a cereal box, but he wants me to believe he can reference a medical journal. So many bad reviews and clearly the ownership cares nothing about that. Will never, ever return. read more

Stopped in to do a quick paint errand in Falmouth for my husband. All was fine until it came time to pay. I used my Apple Pay like I always do during these Covid times. Upon completion of the transaction, I was prompted to hit yes or no on the pin pad. I politely inquired as to whether I needed to hit yes myself or if the cashier was able to do it from his register (during Coronavirus, in order to make a transaction contactless, I find that the store cashier typically takes care of that step!). To my horror, I was told "If you are that worried about touching it you could always have stayed home". Really????? That is how you talk to your customer?? This was said in front of a store full of people and a line behind me. I told him I was shocked he would talk to me that way, and that he knew nothing about me or my family situation or what my concerns were. He basically kept on going and berating me, and I told him I was not interested in debating him on his Coronavirus beliefs. He did not apologize, did not back down, basically told me that I could just stay home and not go out. I was in shock. Rude, condescending, unnecessary and embarrassing treatment of a valued, long term customer. I will NEVER go back, I will find a new paint store (too bad because we are just about to start exterior painting of our home (you are missing out on a big order, Aubuchon!!). I have many friends in Falmouth, including contractors and I am sure they will be equally horrified to learn of Jason's treatment of a customer just looking to follow rules, do the right thing and keep Covid 19 exposures to a minimum for all. WOW!!! Way to ruin my day, Jason!!! You are an extremely rude man and my husband and family and friends were NOT happy to hear how you treated me today. You lost a LOT of business today! Next time you would probably do well to keep your judgements and harassment of an established customer to a minimum! Corporate will be hearing from me next. I don't take that kind of unnecessary mistreatment lightly. You should have thought about it before you decided to try to embarrass me for inquiring about contactless paying at your store! Unfortunately, I will not be shopping there any time soon. The crew in the paint store refuse to wear masks, therefore they do not care about protecting the customers. Fortunate that it's open on Sunday however having to drive a half hour to see if something is in stock, due to being left on hold for over 11 minutes ,and when I call back they state they are too busy to look for me . Staff is very inexperienced. read more

Aubuchon must be taking some pointers from Falmouth Lumber across the street when it comes to customer service. This is really just an awful hardware store. The only reason I go there is because they carry Benjamin Moore paint. It's their best and worst quality really. Benjamin Moore paint is top notch, but their paint counter is a hot mess. Consistently. I don't think there has been a time I've gone there just wanting to get a gallon of paint and not been there for under an hour. It's ridiculous. There's a whole range of nut jobs working in the paint section. Granted, some of them have been nice, but still it still takes forever. The icing on the cake was when we had to return paint that they messed up the color on. After waiting and waiting, the clerk finally got us the right paint, but then told us he HAD to charge us. There were no returns. Didn't matter if they made the mistake. It was your classic scenario once the manager showed up and set things straight. The clerk suddenly had a change of heart, telling us how awful the day had been and how he was going to have to pay out of his own pocket for the messed up paint. And how he was really doing us a favor. And please "talk good" to all your friends about us here. Sure will! read more

Very friendly staff. Great customer service. Fair prices. I love that I can get Benjamin Moore paint here. It's hard to find at larger hardware stores because of contracts with other suppliers. Benjamin Moore paint is slightly more expensive, but is in my opinion, is definitely a superior paint product. read more

They stayed open later than most businesses during Hurricane Sandy this past fall. Their prices for propane were reasonable.

Really tired of the grumpy and condescending staff here. It's not like I'm asking for intricate, detailed information ... I'm asking basic things like "do you have sprayers for weed killer" and other questions that you'd ask, you know, IN A HARDWARE STORE. A polite response to a polite question would be nice. It's not like I'm interrupting staff members while they're in deep conversations or helping other customers, if I can't find what I'm looking for and there aren't any staff around I go to the register, wait in line if there is one, and ask my question. They've been polite and interested if I happen to be there with a man but I really don't have time to scrape up a guy whenever I need a box of nails or some paint. The last time I was there I greeted the cashier "hi, how are you?" his response was "$52.67." I paid, said "thanks, have a good one" and his response was NOTHING.
