WOW! We had a 5:30 PM reservation and overall it was such a memorable experience. The food was absolutely delicious! what a treat to be able to dine here. The first and second courses really stood out, especially the risotto, which was truly out of this world. One thing I really appreciated was how seamlessly everything was coordinated. Our party of eight all received our dishes at the same time, which made the experience feel elevated and well thought out. Each dish was carefully explained as it was presented, and anytime we needed anything, the staff was right there to assist. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable and added so much to the experience by walking us through each course in detail. The ambiance and view made the evening feel even more special. I was slightly underwhelmed with the lamb main course, as it felt like it hadn't just come fresh off the grill and was a bit cold. That said, by the time it arrived I was already quite full from the earlier courses, so it didn't take away too much from the overall experience. We were celebrating a birthday, and the staff made it feel special by bringing out a candle, which was a really nice touch. The nonalcoholic beverages were also excellent. I had got the 3 course with wine and that plenty for lunch, had to take a nap after. The view is to die for, so don't miss it if the weather is great. We had: Cheese plate - Cranberry bread was amazing Shrimp - Lovely Pork chop - Perfectly executed Gnocchi - Just lovely, didn't know they still did foam, which is kinda 00s? Perfect place for all occasion. Located in a semi secluded hills with a breathtaking view, this place has it all. We came here to celebrate and it was a near perfect dining experience. When you pull up you are greeted with valet parking. As soon as you walk in, your eyes are treated to an inviting greeting area. The dining room is perfect setup especially with the view of the hillside. The brunch menu is simple with lot of food for a very reasonable price (includes a welcome drink and an unlimited bread basket with freshly made lemon curd). For starters (Beginnings) we opted for the oysters, sauteed octopus, and potato gonococci. The oysters were fresh and we were tempted to order more. The potato gonococci (was done perfectly. For the Sustenance, we tried the Maine lobster omelet, honey nut squash risotto, pork chop and braised short rib. We agreed the pork chop and short rib hit the all perfect mark. The risotto was very tasty but slightly overcooked. the Maine lobster omelet was our least favorite because the ricotta was a bit too rich. For desserts, it was a perfect 10 but best served with a cup of coffee. A three course brunch cost $125 which is unbelievable for this dining experience. A definite repeat! read more

My wife and I have made it a tradition to visit Auberge du Soleil every year during the holidays, but this year was extra special. We brought the whole extended family--including my 91-year-old mother, my siblings, and the grandkids--to celebrate New Year's with brunch. If you haven't been, the location is stunning. It's tucked away on Rutherford Hill Road, right across from Quintessa, and the views overlooking Napa Valley are honestly some of the best in the region. We were seated in our own area on the outdoor terrace, which was perfect for a large group. The food was delicious (as expected for a Michelin-rated spot) and the service was top-tier for 99% of our meal. One heads-up for the photographers out there: I ran into a weird issue regarding photos. I brought my mirrorless camera and a tripod to capture a rare family portrait with my mother. Even though we were the only ones in our section and I wasn't bothering a soul, a staff member approached me and said I couldn't use a "professional" camera. It was a bit frustrating because Auberge's own policy allows personal photos as long as you aren't intruding on other guests--which we weren't. I've never had an issue here before, so I suspect this particular staff member might have been a bit overzealous or misinterpreting the rules. It's a shame, because a little discernment goes a long way when a family is trying to make memories. The Verdict: Despite that one awkward interaction, I still highly recommend Auberge. I was fortunate enough to be able to stay two lovely days at Auberge du Soleil with two great friends. We took advantage of the pools, spa, mini hikes, and restaurant. We stayed in one of the lovely villas and enjoyed the deck and outdoor bathing. We also had a private spa experience with our own hot tub, mindfulness activities, bonding activities, and theramask treatments. And champagne and fruit! We did initially have some issues arranging a vineyard visit, but the team was apologetic and fixed the issue eventually. One of a kind, memorable experience. read more

Came here with a party of 8, and made a reservation for the day after Christmas. They offer a 3 and a 4 course option, and I love that they allow you to flex which courses you choose (for example, I did the 3 course and did a first, second and entree and skipped dessert). The table can all independently choose, and they time the service so that courses are brought out at similar times. The top dish was the gnocchi! It was incredibly fluffy and warm, like a little pillow. I thought the risotto was okay, but loved the lamb and duck. read more

Complimentary valet parking was quick and seamless, and the hospitality was outstanding. From the host to the servers, everyone was genuinely warm, attentive, and welcoming. The food was excellent across the board: the potato leek soup with lobster and black truffle was rich and comforting, the sautéed petrale sole with lentils and orange sauce was perfectly cooked and beautifully balanced, and the ginger-poached Bartlett pear with spiced carrot cake and cream cheese gelato was a light yet memorable finish. We went to the bar for my partner's birthday. We called the day prior to make reservations and the host was super kind to advise us on what time to come for sunset. We got the hamachi crudo, mushroom soup, and bone marrow. The mushroom soup was perfect for the cold weather. The bone marrow had a crust on it that I had never seen before--the crunch was incredible. And the hamachi was paired perfectly with its toppings. While the appetizers were incredible, we opted to have dinner elsewhere. My single qualm I had was that their entree menu wasn't very exciting. Auberge du Soleil consistently gets awards from various outlets: Michelin, Forbes, Travel + Leisure, and the like. Once you've stayed at an Auberge property, you'll immediately see why. The 5-star white glove service is phenomenal. Staff are professional, yet friendly and approachable. The properties are also all somewhat secluded from the outside world, so it truly feels like you are transported to another time and space. I booked a getaway to the Napa Valley region and after staying at another Auberge property, I knew I wanted to experience this specific hotel for my fiancé's birthday celebrations. It was one of my top choices for wedding venues, but since Auberge du Soleil now requires a full property buyout and I wanted a smaller party, it just wasn't a feasible or logical option. As such, I decided that since I wasn't able to have a ceremony here, I could at least see what it would be like to be a guest. Upon check-in, we were offered a welcome glass of wine and upgraded to a room with a better view. I loved the panoramic valley view and also saw hot air balloons in the morning! All the snacks and drinks in the room are complimentary, and we had a bottle of wine and substantial looking cheese plate waiting for us in the room as well. I highly recommend coming mid-week and during the slower months. Breakfast is included in the stay and we left thoroughly content after each meal. The seats by the fireplace and the booths are so cozy. We hardly saw any other guests during breakfast and dinner, and also had the gym, pool area, and spa to ourselves (love the plunge pools)! The property is adults only, so it's a very quiet and relaxing space. My fiancé also had a grand time driving the various Mercedes vehicles they allow guests to borrow at their leisure. As I alluded to earlier, I can't rave enough about the service. There's a reason why both the restaurant and the hotel have Michelin awards (whether that be stars or keys). Staff are not snobby at all and seem to be able to anticipate what the guests need before it's requested or even before the guests realize what they need themselves! For example, I ordered a pasta dish and needed it to be made vegetarian. Usually I have to inquire if the meat can be left on the side for my partner to enjoy, but I decided to just leave it be. I was surprised when instead, the staff flipped the script on me and asked if I still wanted the sausage on the side. Once the food arrived and I was eagerly digging in, staff brought me over a spoon to make it easier to servem literally JUST as I was just thinking about how I might need to ask for one. Lastly, I was asked if I needed more pasta sauce (who am I to say no to anything I'm getting offered at this point?) and was given a HUGE bowl of sauce. It literally looked like I was getting a bowl of tomato soup and made all the difference with my entree. I think this type of service is hard to come by nowadays, and I have no idea how Auberge trains their staff to achieve this caliber of care, but whatever it is, they're doing it right. I can't wait for my next stay, and will continue to share my love of the Auberge properties in the meantime. read more

The dishes were plated in a kinda culinary school style, very safe, very clean. Nothing really innovative happening here. Ambiance was fantastic even on a cold napa night sitting outside with heaters and mosquitoes attacking. They finally turned on the overhead fan to keep them away. And provided bug repellent. This place has come a long way since i first tried it in the 90's . Back then it was the shit. Not anymore. Still stuck in the 90s the food reminded me of a ritz carlton or four seasons for the food. What an incredible dining experience in a beautiful location! I only wished we got here earlier in the day to see the gorgeous valley. We came to celebrate a special occasion and it did not disappoint. We opted for the 4 course dinner. But the 3- course dinner is also a nice option - they are flexible so if you're crazy and don't want dessert, you can choose 2 starters and a main. Between courses, we were offered some wonderful sourdough (I mean duh, we are in NorCal), and some tasty amuse bouche. Our favorite was the apple-fennel soup! So warm and cozy, a perfect start. - Diver scallop with chanterelles: one of the best cooked scallop I've had all year! I also had a bite of my boyfriend's lobster w/ black sesame and yuzu, an unexpected but delicious combo with seafood. - Yellowfin Tuna w/ bean sprouts, nuc cham and red curry: wasn't expecting Vietnamese flavors with this warm bean sprout salad but it was really delicious and complimented the seared tuna well. - Duck with artichokes and fennel: to my surprise it came with both a seared duck breast and a duck leg (I think confit). While I loved the duck breast, I wasn't a huge fan of the leg, but my boyfriend happily ate that. - Caramel poached pear with persimmon cake: I love persimmons but the cake as a little dry for me. The highlight was the pear sorbet that accompanied the dish. Overall, we were super impressed and happy with our meal here. The servers were highly attentive. They really went and made it a special meal. The food was excellent, and we left full. For the first time, we didn't have to find pizza for my boyfriend after a tasting menu. The portions of the main dishes here are very generous. My boyfriend ordered the steak, and it also came with some short rib! Expensive but very nice adults only resort romantic weekend getaway about 1.5 hrs from San Francisco. All guests get a complimentary pour at check in and breakfast at their Michelin star restaurant. Their rooms were clean and beds were comfortable as any 5 star hotel should be. Both our bath tubs (one outside in patio) were a little worn out/not 100% functional/clean so we only used their showers. They have an electric fire place which provided warmth and dim lighting that made the room extra cozy. Their massage prices at their spa were quite expensive so we drove 10-20 mins to town for more reasonable priced services. Not sure if we will come back as this is definitely a splurge but would recommend it to others looking for a luxurious romantic getaway option. read more

The brunch is a good value, and includes a cocktail, bread course, and three food courses... several of which are the same as the ones on the dinner menu. I'd recommend the gnocchi, which comes in a frothed parmesan sauce, as well as the peanut croquante/milk chocolate dessert. I was less impressed with the sea bass (which is seasonal and may sometimes be the petrale sole or another fish) and is served with mussels, chorizo, and saffron sauce. Overall, a solid spot but there were a few details missing to give it that extra special oomph. Beware, it's a ton of food so you may want to order light (salad, sorbet, seared tuna, etc.) rather than go for several heavy courses which will put you to sleep. read more
