Honestly, who would have thought at the beginning of this trip that blood pudding would become one of my favorite dishes? Le Bedeau's wasn't my favorite of the two that I have had but it was still really good! You know what else was good this night? The veal carpaccio and the smoked arctic char. Delicious! I wasn't a fan of the rabbit saddle or the burrata this time around due to texture and flavor combinations, respectively. We also had the magnum beaujolais which was really fruit forward and not too acidic. I enjoyed it! Would I come back? Probably! Would I come back if I'm looking for a quieter meal? Probably not.

Calling all wine lovers!…read more Quebec City has some phenomenal wine bars and Le Bedeau is right at the top. From the gorgeous ambience to the extensive wine list and well crafted menu, you should make this your next date night spot while visiting Quebec City. We did not have a ton of time to spend here due to dinner reservations elsewhere. Even though our time was short we had an overal phenomenal experience. The bartender was so friendly and had wine suggestions ranging from Old World to wines that were from Quebec. I started off with a sparkling wine from Canada that was delicious. We also shared a few appetizers such as their burrata and olives. Everything was amazing but definitely be prepared to spend some money here. Since Quebec mostly has everything imported it can get quite pricey but definitely worth it for sure. Cheers!

I've been lucky enough to come twice now while on vacation to jjacques and both times were exceptional, I also funnily enough sat at the exact same table both times. The service and staff and excellent - they give great recommendations, are funny and just make you feel taken care of. Shout-out to Nathan our waiter who spoke in EN for half the table and FR for the other half haha. He was so fun! The first time I came here was with my husband and we had a lovely dinner - the salmon blinis were our fave so I knew when I was here the second time, they were a must! The second time, there were six of us so we ordered quite a bit - we had the salmon blinis with caviar, a few oysters, the cod fritters, the prawn cocktail, the mushroom tortellini, flounder crudo, and whole fried fish - for dessert we did a cheese plate with some delicious local cheese. Everything was delicious - the whole fish is a must - the skin is so crispy and tasty - has a lot of Vietnamese flavours. The cocktails are also fabulous here - I had the Mexican Firing Squad and the Jungle Bird - both delicious and easy to drink! The room itself reminds me of a cool speakeasy bar/resto you'd find in the streets of New York City. It's hidden in an alleyway behind a very unassuming door. It's all part of the magic of the restaurant. If there is one place to go for dinner in QC, go here. We booked a reso in advance and I recommend you do this to secure your spot!

The staff were all very great in explaining everything about the menu. For example, if you want the beef Tomahawk ($145), they told you to order it now since it'll be a 45 minute wait. We started off with 24 oysters ($72) as we love oysters. They had different type of oysters and we enjoyed the east coast oysters. My favorite dishes that we ordered were the seared scallops ($42) and the Butterfish Tataki ($22). We were a bit disappointed in the Crab Rotolo ($36) as we didn't enjoy the combination of the sauce and crab. The scallops were cooked very well and we loved the sauce for the Tataki. The Vitello Tonnato ($22) and Cod Fritters ($15) were decent but not as good in comparison to our favorites. We throughly enjoyed our dinner here as we had a good time trying all the food and mocktails they offered.

We were seated on the patio and our very sweet server was right out to take our drink order. Since we are eating Poutine all over Canada in search of our favorite. We so enjoyed sitting on the patio, it was a beautiful day, we were people watching and enjoying the umbrellas place up the alley. Our poutine was delivered to the table and I can honestly say it was our favorite. The fries were crunch and creamy on the inside. The gravy was rich and had a deep flavor and the cheese curds had lightly melted. Every bite was perfect. The eatery and bar are tucked into a stone house that dates back to 1668, if only the walls could talk. The bar and restaurant feature local Quebec cuisine and is a gem. The service was excellent as was the atmosphere.

We had 9 people and they sat 5 at a table and 4 at the bar and we were completely fine with the arrangement. It is quaint and small and we could see our family and even shared some food since we Were close enough. The cheese fondue is not to be missed . It was absolutely the perfect start to our meal. Then we shared an original poutine and it also was delicious- best I had on our trip thus far! I ordered mussels for my meal and a steaming pot arrived and they were yummy. Ambiance and service were great. They accommodated our awful French attempts. Drinks were large. Honestly, I feel lucky to have dined here. Everything was wonderful!

We started with Limbo Yuzu and lime Montellier, light, refreshing, and perfectly balanced. Sharing the riz d'agneau set the tone for the evening. It was rich, comforting, and absolutely unforgettable. For the mains, my fiancé chose the conkie filet de bœuf, and I had the fruits de mer. Both dishes were exquisite. The filet was tender and deeply flavorful, while the seafood plate felt elegant, fresh, and beautifully composed. Every bite told was perfect. Dessert was the perfect finale. The brownie with chantilly was indulgent and satisfying, and the crème brûlée was silky, delicate, and flawlessly caramelized. Truly, every single bite was amazing. What made the experience even more meaningful was the staff. They were incredibly attentive, kind, and genuinely passionate, taking the time to explain the menu thoughtfully in both French and English. We felt welcomed, cared for, and completely present in the moment. This wasn't just a meal; it was an experience. Pure chef's kiss. We will remember this evening for a very long time and cannot recommend this place enough to anyone visiting Québec City.

The sweetbreads are a must, the duck was absolutely genius, and the seafood main was off the charts good. I don't know if there are any better restaurants in Quebec City, but I guarantee you no one was having more fun than we were. This is exactly the kind of fine dining that makes me come back again and again. Great atmosphere, playful attitudes, and genius on plates. My better half and I seriously discussed whether or not we should retire to Quebec City just do that we can enjoy this brilliance more often. WOW.
