We wonder why a butcher like him has not learned how to work (and behave well) at a restaurant and serve people with good beef. I was blown away with the amount of vegetarian choices they have available. Not only do they have a number of different dishes on their main menu but their daily menu also has quite a few as well. I ordered the vegetarian empanadas and loved them! I struggled to choose between at least 3 different dishes but was satisfied with my choice in the end. When it comes to food, it is self-service. Order at the bar and you will be given a badge that will vibrate/light up when your order is ready. You then pick up your food by the kitchen and enjoy :)

With our limited French and the waitresses limited English, we managed to place our order, and even though the portions looked a bit smaller than anticipated, we were happy with our choice. I got the boulet with salad and fries, and the boulet is like a meatloaf-tasting hamburger in ball form, drenched with a sweet, tomato-y sauce. It was quite tasty, and I really liked the accompanying fries that had just the right amount of crisp to fluff ratio. The salad with vinaigrette dressing was good too (but I could have had it without the onions!). Overall a pleasant experience, and a good find in Liege after walking around.

But the L'Ambree was a solid beer that complemented my 'Le Spicy' burger very well. the onion rings are good, but not sized to share. Order a serving for everyone who wants some. First, I love the atmosphere, the ambiance and the feel is very modern. Their burgers were perfect and so tasty! I love that on the menu they pair a beer to go with the meal, very fun. The lobster was cooked on the open hearth and the smokey flavor was quite unique. I found out later that they had a hotel and had I known before I might have tried to get a room there instead of the place we stayed. It looked much more quaint and cozy. So don't sit in the inside bar area if you are having dinner. It's not as nice. There aren't many seats in the back so maybe call ahead if it is a weekend. I wish they would make all the cars park out front. That would mean the patio area is left without car traffic. That's an easy fix and would make me consider the 5th star. Perhaps next time...
