Atwill Pilates is amazing. I feel so blessed that I found it. I had done "pilates" before-first in LA at Platinum Pilates, then here at Fit Buddha, but I had idea that those classes were cheap knockoffs to classical pilates. You need to experience classical pilates to understand what I'm talking about, but once you do, you won't go back. Colleen and her team are all amazing. My 3 stars is a combo review and I'd go 3 1/2 if I could but I can't. :-) My instructor was Kelsie and I have 5 stars for her. I am not a fan of the space itself. It's kinda cramped and there are always multiple trainers and clients there, usually privates with some duets, and of course that means the instructors are constantly talking to tell the clients what to do. And yes this is normal, BUT the acoustics are terrible so the room -- it's just one room -- is always loud. Which can make it difficult to hear one's instructor. Which is frustrating. They have two Cadillacs, which is fine, but for some unknown reason they decided to place them right next to one another instead of on opposite sides of the room. So very often you hear the instructor who's NOT talking to you better than the one who IS. read more

Vladka Allsop is a wonderful Pilates instructor! She has an amazing resume in both Pilates and dance and is true to the classical Pilates principles. Beverly is one of the best all around instructors I've had to pleasure of working with. Her sessions are tailor made to address my weaknesses and build a total body strength that is hard to obtain anywhere else. She's always watching and guiding me into to the best technique I can achieve that day. My Pilates sessions at Atwill are nothing short of life changing! They do an amazing job of making sure that movements are friendly to my sometimes not-so-flexible male body, which is very comforting. After a few sessions I've noticed significant strength and flexibility improvements...way more noticeable improvement than I was getting with yoga and other strength training I've done. I'm a bit of a novice to the different sects of Pilates, but I can say that the form of classical Pilates they do here on the Gratz equipment is freakin fantastic. Atwill Pilates is excellent. Colleen is very knowledgeable, so friendly and fun. The space is beautiful and she has very good quality equipment. She is well-trained and clearly understands bodies. I always give her a list of aches, pains, and injuries. She will structure our session around strengthening any injuries or weaknesses as to not injure myself but to work though it to come out the other end. I highly recommend this place! read more
